SpringHill Suites by Marriott Old Montreal

The rooms are completely outdated, the front desk is useless, we ask for a fresh set of towels and the hotel excuse for not having fresh ones was the lack of employees working in the laundry so they do not have any. The sheets on the sofa bed wasn’t clean, so clearly there was no service room between the arrival of new guests.
DO NOT STAY HERE. Besides the location, it is the worse place I have ever been. The A/C unit is ola and makes a lot of noise.
Choose a Motel anywhere else but DO NOT STAY AT SpringHills in Old Montreal!

Bine situé. Beaucoup de choix au déjeuner mais s'il y avait plus de vaisselle jetable que j, aurais souhaité. Personnel correct mais parfois difficile d, avoir du service en français. Propreté à améliorer. L'eau de la piscine était brouillée. Qualité de la chambre moyenne.

Parking garage was terrible. Not many spaces and cramped. I guess that is normal for Montreal. They still didn't have room ready by 4. We had to wait til 5. Never had that happen before. Rooms are beyond tiny. Sink is outside bathroom which is always irritating to me. The rooms are like caves. I always stay in marriotts. The one is one of the worst. I would have been really pissed had I paid full price for the room.

BED BUG HOTEL. Rooms were musty and old and needed Renos. The mattresses were covered in urine.my son was covered in bed bugs which they denied… such poor service.

Honestly one of the worst hotels I ever stayed at, and for the price I was in shock. The hotel smells, the decor is old and not very up to date, the rooms have ants.overall extremely disappointed. We requested a room with a queen and a sofa bed since we were 3 people, no joke the sofa bed wasn't able to open correctly because the room was too small and it pushed against the wall. We ended up sleeping all 3 of us in the queen. Avoid this place at all costs, much better options around for cheaper!

Room wasn't upto my standards personally. No view, sink and washroom were separate, never liked this concept. AC was barely working or was working too well and wouldn't go down. BUT location is prime! We skipped breakfast, was basic. Wanted to swim and workout.swimming pool needs a renovation. Overall, if you're coming to tour Old Montreal; stay here since you'll be just sleeping and out most of the time.

Great location in Old Montreal. Pricey as a result though, with parking an extra cost of $35/day. The room was clean but smelled a little and our AC unit didn't work. Luckily, it wasn't very hot so we didn't need it. There was no view from the windows, as it faces an adjacent building. The breakfast (included with our room) was very good. The bed mattress felt a little old, not as comfortable as you'd expect from a Marriott. I'd recommend solely based on the location.

Great location right in the Vieux Port (Old Montreal) area. Just half a block from the action and about a 7 min walk to Chinatown.

Parking was easy in the attached garage but very tight going in and out, if you have a large SUV or vehicle, be aware it's very tight turns and spaces. Same way in as it is going out as well. Make sure you ask for the exit pass as the parking fee is charged to your room. Otherwise the garage was easy and has easy elevator access to the hotel. The only downside was no extra measures inside the elevators (room key scanner) so anyone could use them.

Nice Mezzanine area for breakfast which gets really crowded in the morning but they keep everything well stocked. Breakfast service ends at 9: 30am on the dot. So be aware.

The pool is open early til late (11pm) but they close midday (11am-12pm) for an hour for maintenance. The bottom of it is heavily peeling but it's not highly chlorinated and is kid friendly as it's only 3'6" deep and heated. There's some seating available and plenty of clean towels. There's also a small gym available right off the pool area.

We had a lovely stay here for 3 nights and really enjoyed the location. It was safe and there's lots of food options nearby. If you're traveling as a large group and need to stock up on anything, Costco is only an 8 min drive away.

They also have wifi and high speed internet available if you bring your own cable.

Location was great as it was centrally located in Old Montreal. It was minutes from the Notre-Dame Basilica and some of the good restaurants. Breakfast was okay with typical continental breakfast items. The space for breakfast was a bit crowded. The carpet also looked dated and dirty.

Dislikes: We were asked if it was okay for us to stay in a room next to the pool, but we were not forewarned that the sound insulation was so poor and that the pool closes at 11pm! Imagine hearing all these teens running around in the pool area, screaming, and banging the door to the pool every few minutes at night while you try to go to sleep!

Nous étions chambre 611 le lit Ouf le est du pas a peu près. Les déjeuners son excellants le bruit la nuit ds la ruelle quand il a des déchargements tu dort pas de la nuits nous avons dormi 5 jours.

Working with their group sales department was incredibly stressful and unprofessional. I was trying to get a group rate for 15 rooms.

They wouldn't return calls, and ghosted my emails. After going there in person to meet with the Rep, I was promised that things would be fixed the next day and that they would provide a contract. Sure enough, a week later and they still haven't reached out.

I will give a shout out to Alexandre from the front desk. He's the only one of the people answering the phones that made a strong effort to try and get me in touch with the team.

This hotel is in a great location as it sits in the heart of Old Montreal. The 2 double bed suite is spacious with a pull out sofa while the view left something to be desired (looking into a classroom). The service was not very good. We had no linens for our sofa bed. I called down for some to be brought up and an hour later called again. Both times I was told it would be brought right up and two hours later thry were still not sent up. We were unable to use the sofa bed the first night and had to sleep 3 of us uncomfortably on 1 bed. I feel there should have been some reimbursement for this as we didn't get to use the extra bed that we had paid for. The second night we did finally get the linens which made the stay more comfortable. The breakfast is ok. There is both hot and cold foods-something for everyone. The pool, although small, was something for the kids to do. They enjoyed going for a few swims.

Très déçue. Malgré un très bon accueil à mon arrivée par le jeune homme de la réception, j'ai été désagréablement surprise par le reste.l'hôtel est dans son jus, vieillot et sale. Les photos sur le site sont trompeuses, on n'a pas du tout l'impression d'être dans un 4 *. Le coin piscine et salle de sport n'est jamais nettoyé je pense, et ça ne donne vraiment pas envie. Le seul point positif (avec les réceptionnistes:) est la situation, très bien placé dans le vieux Montréal qui est un quartier très chouette et tranquille en cette période de l'année.

Staff was very attentive and friendly. The rooms were dated. The rooms really need an updating, they are looking "not fresh". The breakfast buffet was great. The staff was great. Probably won't be back until an update of the rooms.

Let’s start with the pros: friendly staff and nice welcome gift, great location in old port, ok breakfast (lots of traffic during breakfast hours) but they do have nice croissants, slept fine though bed was a bit on the hard side.
But a few negatives: loud heater, odd suite layout, shower had almost no pressure (they did adjust it), the room felt dark and inhospitable, a lot of things seemed dated, bathroom was tiny. So room for improvement.
The value for price paid was fine.

Somehow there is someone smoking inside the hotel. When we called the front desk at around 10pm, they said nothing they can do and otherwise change a room for us.

We were two couples in two adjoining rooms which were both very clean and comfortable. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. The gentleman who attended the parking was very friendly and helpful. We all enjoyed the lounge for cocktails! The location is ideal to walk around and experience old Montreal!

So-so stay. Very frustrated that as we arrived, parking lot was full. I don’t understand how there’s not enough parking for hotel guests. We were told to go find our own parking. It was a busy night in the old port so we were stuck circling for 20 minutes, until we found a lot. We were late for our dinner reservations. Room was ok, clean, tub was quite outdated. Breakfast was underwhelming, but it is nice that this is offered.

Horrible. I suggest you do NOT come here. There were flies, the smell of sweat and sour from the sheets and smell of cigarettes. The bathroom smelt like old sewage water and had mold in the bathtub. There was food in the cabinets, the fridge was uncleaned, the fan light was about to fall and the lights were dim that you couldn't see anything even in the day time. When we were given our first room, the window was opened and the room was not cleaned. We asked for another room and the front desk told us there were no rooms left and once we said we were leaving to a different hotel, he proceeds to tell us that there was an extra room. Therefore, meaning he just didn't want to give a room to begin with. In our new room, there was stains, flies once again, not cleaned at all ONCE again. The sofa mattress was dirty and the bar in the bathroom was rusty. We then preceded to ask for sheets for the sofa mattress since there was none. We received hard, stale, rough blankets, that were just not useable. The room only had 2 towels for four people and lastly, the sink would not drain properly. It was just horrible. This is our experience as long-term ELITE Marriott members. Please do not come here.

The person at reception (Monday evening), a relatively young male was absolutely so friendly and service oriented that he uplifted my experience. Thanks so much.

Pleasant stay at the Mariott, tried them out thanks Tuango.should have checked what local events were happening before i booked and only realized after the fact that Igloofest was happening.

Have another stay planned in the spring.

On prend entente avec le gérant pour un mariage avec specification de nos besoin face à nos invite (stationnement). Par la suite 1h avant la ceremonie on revire les invite en leur disans qu'il n'a pas de place donc ses a eux de s'arranger pour trouve une place de stationnement choses pas tres evidante dans le vieux port donc merci pour cette experience vraiment dessus.

The only reason you should book this hotel is the location, other than that these are the issues my partner and I experienced when booking this hotel for our anniversary:
Rooms were not as described or displayed on the website, very poorly maintained
After checking into the room, we moved to a different one and it was still just as dingy and smelly as the previous one
Asked to move to a room that wasn’t joined with another, yet was sent to a new adjoined room
Breakfast was cold and undercooked, had to microwave our whole meals both mornings
The clerk asked for a $400 security deposit which was not stated when booking
Was greeted rudely and unprofessionally by the front desk clerk multiple times (evening shift - woman)
When checking in and asked how much the security deposit is the clerk responded in a rude manner saying “I dont know I need your card to charge it then it will show”
When asked to move rooms the same clerk responded rudely said “where’s your stuff? Go get it. ”

Great location. Covered parking was available in the basement. Breakfast spread could be better.

Really nice place, the pool was just in front of our room, I love the perfume that they have in their Looby (please send me the name and brand to my email). We never know that the breakfast was included, really nice surprise!

Disons que on savait pas trop a quoi s'attendre et cela est vraiment pour une nuit. La douche est a baignoire et il y a une douche téléphone. La piscine est correcte mais rien de wow, belle mezzanine. Il y a un four-onde alors pratique.avec évier et petit réfrigérateur et machine pour chauffer l'eau pour le café. Pas de crème nos de l'air mais du colorant a café, je me demande depuis combien de temps est-ce que l'on peut considérer cela comme substitut de crème. Bref, serviette propre et salle de gym alors encore la. Il ne faut pas s'attendre à plus que le strict minimal par contre c'est super bien d'avoir accès à ces commodités. Le prix est raisonnable.
Personnel serviable et souriant. Beau lobby.

Great location, good service and fine rooms.

Those with a sensitive nose may well want to stay clear of first floor with pool odour.

Breakfast was ok, though no bacon on days we were there and freshness of warm items left much to be desired.

Rooms though dated were cozy, my partner likened them to one's she has visited in Italy (but cleaner).

Overall, wouldn't return at full price, but would definitely consider as part of a package deal or last minute offer.

PS: Pairs well with Montreal passport ;)

Reasonably priced hotel; no complaints. There was complimentary breakfast, room was very clean and spacious, and it's in a safe and quiet area close to transportation (within quick walking distance of multiple bus stops and the train). In the heart of Old Montreal near Notre Dame and lots of different restaurants/cafes.
