I visited this place to book rooms for friends. The rooms are magnificent and the the staff is very friendly and accomodating. If you ever want to treat yourself this would be the place to go.

2nd time we stay here and we love it. The only reason the room comes in as a 4 star is because this time we were in one of the outer motel rooms. Cheers

1 étoile juste pour le décor!
Pas de réception, ce sont 2 enveloppes qui nous attendaient. Une feuille donnant, entre autres, où et quand prendre le petit-déjeuner. Sauf que, il était précisé que le petit-déjeuner se prenait à la salle à manger. J'y suis descendue, buvais un café et me suis faite VIRÉE! " La salle est privée, je vous demande de sortir, les petit-déjeuner se prennent comme toujours dans le bâtiment extérieur " Je suis choquée!
Je suis touriste, c'est la première fois que je venais (et la dernière!) donc je l'ignorais et ai juste suivi les indications (voir photo)
On m'a virée comme une personne malhonnête.
Sinon la chambre, pas de rideau/store sur la fenêtre de la salle de bains donnant sur le jardin. Si un promeneur matinal s'y trouvait, je me donnais en spectacle. La nuit fût fraîche (-1°C) il n'y avait qu'une fine couverture, j'ai eu froid toute la nuit.
Personne à la sortie, il était 9h.
Je ne recommande absolument pas.

I dare you to find a better pet friendly Inn that has both rooms and cabins with a host who is both polite, professional and knowledgeable of the local area.

EDITED TO ADD RESPONSE FROM OWNER: Okay, its crazy that after 3.5 years, you respond to my review. Its also baffling your blaming the pandemic for how terrible you were when 95% of our interactions came before there was a pandemic, so thats not the issue. Being a small business owner, and who happens to also work in the wedding industry, there was proper ways to handle the situation and taking our money and giving us terrible service was not appropriate. Please feel free to give us our refund we have been asking for (for 3.5 years) which may change how things are, but since every time we tried to contact you, you ignored us just shows the type of service you offer. I also do not think you have "improved" in any way.majority or the reviews on your site look fake or bought.

My fiance and I first looked at Spruceholme over a year and a half ago. I then heard really nothing about the venue and when we first looked at it, its was beautiful. I myself am in the wedding industry, so I had high hopes for my wedding at this venue. Not to long after booking with them, I heard nothing but terrible things about poor communication, and lack of professionalism on a wedding day. I reached out to over 10 previous couples (3 that I also know from the wedding industry) who also confirmed the poor service. I reached out many times to try and straighten out these concerns with the owner, Jane, to whom I was always speaking with someone new. I would never get a clear answer to a question and they would frequently change their mind about what would be included and what I would have to pay for.which I did not agree to at the start.

We had made arrangements to do a tasting and viewing with my planner the middle of March, this was just at the very start of Covid, and while I was calling one day to see if we should reschedule the appointment, I called and an accountant answers and tells me everyone is gone and they closed the building, no one is working there due to covid.and never even called to cancel my appointment. I never heard from anyone at all, I again had to seek out a previous bride to get the owner Janes cell phone number just to get an answer.

She was all apologetic, but how do you just forget to call one of your couples? My fiance and I decided to postpone out wedding to next year and Jane took forever to make this happen, I kept asking for a updated contract and the first one she sent had a ton of new numbers on it to pay, which I again never agreed to. I told her to take it off. In the end my fiance and I wanted out of the deal with our venue because of the poor service we have experienced and the lack of professionalism, plus everything going on with Covid, and Jane refuses to give us even a 50% refund.

Being in the wedding industry, I would deffs look elsewhere if you want an easy and simple wedding process as Jane has many other priorities other than her couples and Spruceholme.

Très bel emplacement pour faire une retraite. Le personnel est très sympathique et attentionné à nos besoins. Endroit tranquille avec un très beau cachet.
