This is about the office in UAlberta campus: Well they are closed during working hours. They have 3 different notes that says they will be open at 10 and it’s 10: 30 and they are closed. Not the first time that this happened. Really annoying! People have to come here many times to be able to get their work done. Try to avoid them if you can and save yourself time and money!

I have had so many issues with this service. It is unbelievable how disorganized and unreliable it is. I have had multiple issues in the past where I was unable to get a hold of them, unable to figure out why I was not covered by the insurance and also given wrong information. My current issue is that I paid for this service beginning in September, and it is now 5 months later and they still have not updated my file so that I am covered. I am unable to make any claims even though my payment went through 5 months ago. I would never recommend anyone to pay for this.

They are very hard to reach. Even if I selected to drop out of the plan they never send the money back and the receipt had the wrong amount indicated.

Studentcare represents everything wrong with health insurance. Interesting in nothing more than fleecing students - people who are just doing their best to get an education - studentcare is probably the worst health insurance experience I have had to date.

I think it's already clear from other reviews that they are slow on reimbursements and operate without any transparency. I'll just add that they manage to cheat you even when you try to opt out. Studentcare will delay giving their refund to you for 2-3 months, without any late fees on their end. Happy to screw you whenever they can, but taking no responsibility themselves.

If your graduate union ever has a vote on who to go with for health insurance, avoid studentcare!

They were really friendly to me on the phone and helped me out pretty quickly! It's also been great to have this insurance and has helped me out with a lot of healthcare costs:)

Customer service was polite and attempted to be somewhat helpful but were not particularly knowledgeable about their processes. I submitted a claim that had an error in it and needed to be cancelled. I called and after half an hour old hold, got a CSR who said he could not access the system due to an issue and that he would redirect me to his colleague. Cue waiting another 20 minutes. The new CSR put me only hold again as he spoke directly to Desjardins only to inform me that the claim is still sitting with Studentcare but cannot be cancelled since another department handles it and there is absolutely no way to contact that department and have them cancel the claim. So apparently I need to wait for the claim to be processed and resubmit a new claim referencing the old claim and hope that someone noticed the two are connected and stops the first claim from going through. If the claim does get processed in the meantime and I get paid the wrong amount, I was told I will have to deal with Desjardins directly to repay them.

I find it hard to believe that there is absolutely zero way for the CSR to contact their own internal departments and make a note on the file. Either their workflows are completely inefficient or their staff are untrained. I asked to speak to a supervisor to give them this feedback and I was very polite about it. I was put on hold again and then hung up on.

The first CSR I spoke to actually told me that I am better off in the future not using their app at all and just submitting claims online directly to Desjardins. Obviously Studentcare doesn't serve its intended purpose if it's own staff recommends avoiding them.

Right now 'I'm dealing with a reimbursement that was sent in Feb. 2,2022. They claim to have a turn around time of 10 days. We are April 10, and zero information from them. I've sent them a message via their mobile app, with no success, I've sent them an email, no success and finally I've tried calling them but have just been kept on hold. No response.
What frustrates me, is I've spent $825 every year to enroll my whole family only to be told by a CSR agent that finally answered the phone, I was not enrolled? I haven't even received any tax papers to confirm my payment? !
Imagine if there was an accident while travelling? ! G-d forbid, they would have claimed I didn' t have insurance? !
These are really serious issues that need to be assessed ASAP!

I wish I could give minus stars. They are not to be trusted for a second and they will steal your money. The person answering the phone is incompetent and racist. Stay very far away from this company.

God help you if you have to call them. Expect to wait 40+ minutes and then get hung up on after being on hold for another 10+ minutes. That is, if you can actually get the call to connect in the first place.

The most incompetent, rude, evasive, and unprofessional company with whom I have had to deal. They have no knowledge about their coverage nor their policies and.forget hoping that they are taking note of what you are telling them on the phone because they either lie, withhold information, or don't even read previous conversations. I have been waiting for a refund since September and every time I call to check on the progress, I am met with staff members and supervisors who force me to start all over again. I have made requests to speak to supervisors 3 times to no avail. I have spent nearly 6 hours on the phone trying to resolve this issue and my bank has also tried contacting StudentCare to reverse my payment to which attempts no response was given. I have had the amount of my refund change on me 3 times in a month and I have been told that the refund is in the mail on two occasions only to find out it was never approved. I was most recently told that I would be required to pay an administrative fee because too much time has passed since my original request.and whose fault is this, exactly? I recommend to students to find alternative coverage.

This healthcare service is complete sh! T! I strongly recommend students to op-out of this service. You’re better off buying your owe healthcare insurance with blue cross than through student care. Based on my experience with Student-care, their main job is to ensure they make it as difficult as possible for student to get any type of reimbursement back.

Staff are poorly trained and consistently provide false information. Team leads refuse to entertain the idea that call centre agents could possibly provide inaccurate info. The only explanation I can think of is that they have no Quality Assurance, they do not monitor the calls and so are not aware of their staff's frequent mistakes. Do yourself a favour and opt out. I wish I could give zero stars.

Incredibly rude and unhelpful customer service who just handles their customers while not actually providing any useful services. I've had 2 ongoing issues with them for 3 months with absolutely no resolution and no followup on their part. I wish I could give this company a zero as well. DO NOT GO WITH THEM FOR YOUR INSURANCE!

Zero stars. This company is trash. I am opting out of their coverage next time. Terrible customer service with rude employees. I have been calling them every 2 weeks for over 6 months trying to get reimbursed for prescription drugs they always tell me I will be refunded in 10 business days and I never am. I've been hung up on several times by the useless staff.

These people are a nightmare. They messed up my claims, they hang up on you, they make you wait nearly 20 minutes to have a simple question answered, and they are SO RUDE.

Very bad customer service. People are rude on the phone and did not send the proper document I asked for after waiting for it for many weeks and call many times for it.

Terrible. Opted in for the winter semester but is says nowhere on there site or the brochure that it only starts on Feb. 2 and never got a confirmation my enrollment was confirmed. That's fraudulent, omitting to say coverage period. Terrible customer service. Took 30 min on the phone with an incapable employee to get this information. All the claims done on the terrible app say pending but the employee wasn't even able to confirm they had received my payment for opting in and the number of my policy. For some reason he kept mentioning that I had another policy with them 12 years ago when I was a student back then. He kept saying to send an email for a refund. I asked for a supervisor but he wouldn't put me through.  Wish I could give 0.
