Service was a bit slow in the beginning, but once we ordered the food, it came fast and it definitely made up for the slow start! Good portions and really tasty! Highly recommend the churros for dessert!
1. A side a beans for the 4 tacos = 3 beans per taco for $1.50 2. Tortilla soup is putrid 3. Cannot follow instructions: asked for no cilantro and no avocado and got heaps of both
Would have been 4 stars (-1 for the soup) but price gouging on sides and inability to follow instructions knock this place down a couple of notches.
The tortas are delicious, very generous portion, torta de milanesa is totally worth it. Nevertheless I have to say that tinga did not taste at all like tinga (unless I had had something else by mistake that tasted like birria). The Churros are super delicious as well. Good service in general. Don't forget to ask for lime and sauce!
Delicious mexican food, great service, no over the top decoration. It's likely the best spot in Montreal for tortas. The milanesa and cochinita tortas are unreal!
The restaurant business is tough so I’ll leave 5 stars here, but I want to really give 1 star. We showed up one fairly quiet evening. Walked into the restaurant where the young waitress was wiping about 30 wet glasses. We asked for a table for two. The restaurant was not busy at all. She told us to let her finish wiping the 30 glasses. So we just stood there for a very awkward 2 minutes watching her wipe the glasses. We maintained eye contact all the time, and it was super awkward. Without saying a word, I motioned for my friend to just leave. We left as the waitress continued wiping the glasses. She saw us leave and made no reaction, no emotion. Just like a robot. Well at least the glasses are maybe clean!
Waited 63 minutes for our food. Paid extra for guac and sour cream, but only two out four tacos had sour cream.and guac never came. Tacos were small and had very little filling. Not worth the long wait unfortunately.
This is my favourite restaurant in Montreal. I’m from Toronto but I eat here every time I’m in Montreal because it’s that good! David and Alberto are truly the best hosts and make us feel at home every time we eat here. The food is delicious and the Cheladas get a special shoutout.
The beef is sooooo good. It's a little small for the price but delicious. The bread on the sandwich is buttery and fluffy so tasty. Churro was so fresh and delicious.
Food is very good, everything is made there and it tastes great. Service.well.ordered a drink i never got, no napkins, i had to take from empty table next to me, was never given sauces, asked for them.like my drink they never came and took the bottles from another table. So, worth going for the food, dont expect 5 star service.
We got our order to go so maybe that made an impact. They were out of bread to order tortas, so no tortas. The gringa we ordered did not have pastor in it and we couldn't actually figure out what meat it was instead? Chicken? Carnitas? No pastor flavour or pineapple. Carnitas tacos were a bit on the dry side. They came with a lime but it had no juice and looked like it had already been squeezed. Service was good enough and the red salsa was excellent, but unfortunately not enough to bring me back.
Great food but much too slow service … we have had twice the experience of having to wait over an hour. It’s a real bummer because at least letting us know would have allowed us to consciously decide if we wanted to spend so long in the restaurant especially with three kids around us being impatient. I tried twice and don’t think I’ll try again… maybe take out is easier?
This place is as authentic as it gets. Little small restaurant where you can see the kitchen and the chef waves at you as you walk in. The tacos are the real deal, soft and made with corn, therefore gluten free. I got the steak and cactus tacos and they were delicious. Highly recommend.
Tacos pastor, tacos pescado, and quesadilla bisteca were perfect. Churros are always good. It's just the tacos cochinita which I found to be a mushy leaky mess.
Probably the best tacos on the Plateau. The tacos Al Pastor are very authentic and tasty. Tortillas are a 4/5 which is why I’m not giving this place 5 stars but would still recommend it to anyone who likes mexican food.
If i can give 0-star rate I'll definitely do it. WORST TACOS I'VE EVER HAD.we had the food taken out.when we got home, we found the petilo (or something sounds like this) was simply a bread with some beef inside. The bistec tacos were just beef and some tiny pepper. Not even any topping. Besides, the beef tasted so horrible that we didn't finish one taco.i think it's too pricy for this kind of quality. I don't know if we just had bad luck, but I figured this is definitely not an ideal taco place in town.
I never leave reviews for restaurants. But I want to here. These guys earned it. And I'll tell you why. Because they get better. And they've been improving and getting better for a long time. I see a lot of people in these reviews whining. It bothers me. People are super opinionated when it comes to tacos and just slam taco joints hard for certain things. I used to live in this area 5 years back, and now work in this area. I can honestly say it is like management has read every review and improved in accordance to these reviews. Do you know how rare that is? That a resto reads reviews and makes changes. 5 years ago I would have agreed with some negative reviews, fast forward to now.this place has taken huge leaps and bounds forward to improve and I see it. Good work guys. I consider myself a taco expert in Montreal, Al Pastor has always been my favorite taco, and I think T&T smashes it out of the park now, best in the city. People love to cry about taco places, I don't know why, I feel bad for T&T because it's so quality but tacos are super subjective and people are so sensitive about tacos. T&T, great work taking these reviews seriously and making the changes you have, I am extremely impressed by your commitment to making your food better. Ignore the haters and trust me here, this place is solid.
I don't know what other reviewers are talking about. I ordered tacos here, fish and pulled pork and both were absolute worst tacos I have ever had. Maybe I unluckily ordered only 2 absolute worst choices on the menu? I went there after seeing all these positive reviews and I felt like I fell for the hype. I tried to give them a benefit of doubt and thought maybe it's just me, but person with me had exact same experience. I didn't order any drinks there, maybe they have good choice.
It was amazing, they went above n beyond. They serve tacos, tortas and enchiladas. All carbs, I explained I was cutting on carbs and they made me an amazing salad that wasn't on the menu. Thank you! It was delicious!
I went with a group of four, and we had the Pepito, Jamaican tacos, quesadilla carnitas, and the taco carnitas.it was very reasonably priced for what you got.each meal was 10-13 bucks each, and it was Very fulfilling portions.the food was great! I loved the salsa Verde, put it on everything.delicious! the only problem with this restaurant is that we're on vacation and can't come here again:)
The food is great. I took the lunch set with the pastor tacos (marinated pork, grilled pineapples and onions). It comes with an amazing soup, 3 tacos with a lime and churros (chocolate, dulce de leche or strawberry). You can choose to put one of the three sauces. I only tried the less spicy one. The pineapple adds a good acidic touch to the tacos. I think it would have been pretty heavy taste wise without it.
I went with a group of 14 at lunch. And two other smaller groups were there. We all took the lunch set. The waiter was alone so service was slow. The other groups only took the tacos and obviously finished faster. It's not a good place for big groups at lunch, unless you only take a plate of tacos!
Bean dip was quite good. Steak quesadilla was great, bit low on steak, but made up on the cheese (would order this again). Tacos pastor were dry and pricy for that quality.
All in all not bad, but there is better tacos in the city.
