This restaurant disappointed on multiple fronts. The food didn't live up to the authentic taste I've had with Indian friends, the ambiance had unpleasant odors, the waiter lacked enthusiasm, and the washrooms were not clean. It fell short of my expectations for an enjoyable Indian dining experience.

Excellent food, really good. Getting our food took a while, there were only a few staff so maybe that's why? The only real complaint I have is that the bathroom was a bit of a mess; no toilet paper or paper towels, and the sink was all loose and swung all over? The faucet was too big for the small sink and tended to splash water on you if you weren't careful.

La nourriture est excellente! Saveurs incroyable, bonne cuisson et bonne texture pour les plats en sauce. Les pains naan sont à découvrir, ils ont un goût et une texture unique. Miam!

We went here for dinner and were quite disappointed.

The wait time was too long to get served.
The food was almost tasteless.
It was difficult to even get an extra spoon or paper napkins as there was a lot of chaos.
The floors were so dirty that almost was sticky on my shoes.

There is definitely a lot of effort required to make this place worth visiting the next time which looks pretty impossible

Reading these reviews along with the reply from the owner is entertaining but I’m just going to be honest and say that the food was very bland and the quantity was small. The rice was off tasting in my opinion, don’t crucify me. I just am stating my
Opinion. Service was mediocre, I was okay with it. We did hear some people behind us saying it was good food so maybe it was just our food.

I don't think anyone is repeating their visit to this place. With this quality, they should shut the place, destroying India's image in the name of an Indian restaurant.
The food was pathetic, the service was non existent, the environment was smelly and dirty.
And for this reason, this place will be remembered.

Don’t waste your money here please we already wasted 100$ in this restaurant and food is also it’s totally worthless

Je viens de commander dans ce restaurant et c'est définitivement ma plus belle découverte et expérience depuis très longtemps. Je n'étais pas prête à ça ahah!
J'ai pris une assiette de combinaisons végétariennes a 26$. Je n'ai pas reçu une assiette, mais bien un buffet complet! J'ai des lunchs jusqu'à la semaine prochaine facilement ahah.
Et tout ce que j'ai goûté était totalement succulent! Aucun des items était banal. Tout était surprenant et délicieux!
P. S. Le lait lassi. C'est vraiment un must.

Not a good experience. The food here is incredibly over priced for their portion sizes. Quality and taste is mediocre. Takes forever for one to get seating and the wait is just not worth it. The naans in particular are sweet and crunchy for regular taste. Curries are also very sub standard. A big thumbs down.

Hats-off to the owner for doing everything, starting from greeting, taking order, serving, and billing at the end. The size of the naan was unexpectedly mammoth and papadum’s were extraordinarily savoury. Palak paneer was unique. Just a suggestion: the dough mix could have been less sweeter. Thanks for the happy meal!

Je ne recommande pas ce restaurant. Les butter chicken sont très liquides et sucrés. Et le naan est sec. Cependant le riz était mangeable. Ma fille a été très malade après avoir mangé le butter chicken.

We took carryout Chicken biryani and dal tadka/rice which tasted ok. Not much options nearby so it's very convenient option to satisfy indian taste buds. Parking could be challenging as it's on main Street with limited street spots.

The worst food ever and so expensive. The butter chicken which was dry turkey soaked in orange sugary liquid was inedible and really expensive at $17.99. Very oily samosas filled with nothing more than green peas. On a more positive note thank you to the doordash driver who was prompt and professional.

Good Indian Food. Taste wise, preparation wise awesome.

We as a family came to this place hoping to get a better food. But this place exceeded our expectations. The food is much tastier than I expected. The price was reasonable and of course it satisfies your cravings for Indian food.

Worst experience.unprofessional.they don’t know how to serve.the guy came with a bowl of tadka dal with his thumb in the Dal.they didn’t give us any serving spoon.no butter on the Garlic Naan.no tadka in tadka dal and when confronted, he replied “yaha to aisa hi hai” (this is the way it is). He even abused when we told him that our experience was not good.

We are visiting Quebec city for the first time and were looking for good vegetarian Indian food options. Few names popped but thankfully we picked TajMahal and turned out we had a great experience starting with the hospitality and customer service. Mohammad and Zafar took great care of us. Mohammad bhai went even further and made sure our kids were properly fed with some special requests. Food tasted great.veg Biryani, Matar paneer, mushroom were good. Dal tadka could get better. Mango pickle was super authentic loved it. Gulab jamun was good as well. All in all a great experience and highly recommended.
Suggestion # plz add an air freshener at the entrance foyer.

The food was ok, we order chicken butter and lamb korma with naan and samosas. The butter chicken had too much cream on it. I liked the korma. My wife preferred the butter chicken. The service was slow.
Only street parking available and can be a bit tricky to park on the street over the weekend.

Dishes had lot of added colour but lacked flavour. Asked for garlic naan and was super dry and maybe a bit warm. The waiter told me, they don’t add butter to their garlic naan.seriously? Who eats any naan without butter? Overall, only go here if your out of any other options. I hope in the future the restaurant takes negative reviews seriously and improves quality of the food. No one likes to write bad reviews but the restaurant owner should look to improve which ever issues people have with the food.

The waiter however was a nice person! He deserves 5 stars for bring friendly!

Visited Taj mahal restaurant for some veg dinner.had paneer mattar garlic naan.the naan was food fresh out of tandoor.the gravy and dal was also quite good. We were satisfied. The server was also nice and quick.

Due to the lower rating of Taj Mahal compared to the other Indian food restaurant right across the street, we decided to try out the other one first and it didn't turn out well. However, the next day we tried Taj Mahal and were pleased with the quality of food and customer service.

We went there for dinner at around 10pm, the server was good. We ordered garlic naan, plain rice, paneer and mattar, dal tadka. The taste of the food was alright but garlic naan was nowhere close to garlic. The portion was okay for two people. The overall look and hygiene of the restaurant wasn’t really upto the mark but price wise the restaurant is good.

Nous avons commandé le repas Taj Mahal avec poulet au beurre et cari a l’agneau pour 3 personnes et nous avons tous été impressionnés par les portions et la qualité de la nourriture! Nos serveurs étaient très gentils et attentionnés. J’ai essayé plusieurs restos indiens à Quebec et celui-ci est mon favori!

DO NOT ORDER madras chicken, it's not eatable for normal humans. Also they do not ask you for spice level, they just prepare it and serve according to themselves. Would suggest you to be very clear while ordering or better case, just avoid this place. Worst food experience.

Taste on point. Saag paneer is a Must-try dish. As Indians, we crave the Indian taste in the food served in any Indian restaurant abroad. And I have visited many Indian restaurants in GTA. But I barely like the taste. But this restaurant in Quebec City has my heart. I GOT UP FROM MY TABLE AND ASKED STORE MANAGER TO SAY “THANK YOU” TO THE CHEF for the food he served.

Food was good… specially the saag paneer. We ordered Dal tadka, Mushroom, veg biryani, Madras Chicken (no recommended, which was really spicy)
Server guy was also friendly.

Expensive and not good food. Naan was horrible, hard and undercooked. The dal I ordered was tasteless and could just taste turmeric. Wouldn’t recommend this restaurant!

Highly recommended! I think its the best food i ever had so far in this area. Ordered, Madras chicken, chicken tikka and somosa. Loved it.

J’habite à côté de ce restaurant et j’y vais régulièrement, tous les plats que j’ai essayés étaient absolument délicieux et toutes les personnes que j’ai amenées avec ont été ravies. Pour une vrai expérience de restaurant indien à Québec, c’est le meilleur endroit que j’ai trouvé.

Simply the best food in Quebec City so far. Must try somosa, Madras chicken curry, chicken tikka, Dhal. Went to eat twice in a row on the same week. Staffs super friendly. Restaurant is very clean.

Absolutely amazing! Very good quantity of food for the price. If you're not into spicy food go for mild or no spice if that's an option. No complaints Beautiful decor and very clean. We will visit this restaurant everytime. Whenever we visit Québec.superb service very delicious food. Thanks for good food

Bonnes quantités et bon service pour emporter en ce temps de zone rouge. Ils travaillent fort pour servir leurs clients et méritent d'être encouragés.

Be aware these people rip people off with the expensive but very bad tasting food. We went there because there was very few choices for indian or south asian food places in Quebec city. Stay away from this place. They will rip you off with food that won't even taste good. Oh ya who the fu** cooks beef with tomato sauce? !

Worst reasturants in quebec city.because, when i entered inside restaurant. I ordered for three briyanis. Then, finally i got my ordered after 40 mins. One of worst thing of this restaurant they are not taking phone ordered and for take out you have to go restaurant first pay bill then you will get your order. They are doing this thing because they know if customer must wait.

We are here for dinner. We were surprised on how great the food was. The lamb and butter chicken were excellent.

Les plats sont très savoureux, je recommande le poulet de beurre et l’agneau sagwala. L’ambiance fait vraiment resto indien avec la musique et la déco. Les serveurs sont très sympathiques même si on a un peu de misère à les comprendre. Quantité/qualité à un bon prix.

I went to so many Indian places across Quebec City and today I went to Taj Mahal I was greeted nicely with the manager and the food was excellent. If I were to describe Taj Mahal I would describe it as the the best Indian restaurant in Quebec City they have amazing customer service, everything is clean and the food is again amazing never in my life have I ever had such great taste in a restaurant. I was scared at first by reading all the awful reviews but ones I stepped foot in the restaurant I was amazed this restaurant should really have a five star it’s incredible!

I am a foodie, love to eat at different places and try out new restaurants when I visit places. Being living in Brampton Ontario you always find Indian food of the other places not to hitting your tastebuds. Still I will say that Taj Mahal was better than other Indian restaurants in Quebec City.

One of the worst Indian restaurants in the whole Quebec. The food was cold. There was no quality in food which u usually find in an Indian curries. If I was able to give minus review I would have give -5 star for review.
We order couple of curries today and later we found out that one of them was missing salt and the other one was too sweet. The naan (Indian bread) was missing butter on it. It was as dry as hell.

I would recommend if u ever visit Quebec, please please do not visit or order food from this restaurant because u gonna regret about it later on.
