Terrasse St-Ambroise

It’s difficult to decide what rating I should give because I like St. Ambroise beer and enjoyed the vibes of this place the previous time I came. This past Saturday however, I was starving when I arrived and when I tried ordering the veggie burger, I was informed it contains cheese in the patty (I’m vegan), and that my only option was chips and salsa. Since I was on an empty stomach, I couldn’t order any beer, so my friend and I left to go eat somewhere else and did not return - I was both hangry and salty lol. I very rarely go vegan Karen like this but I feel that offering a veggie burger that isn’t vegan is very 2003, and a bad business decision given it prevents a large percentage of the people who would even be interested in a veggie burger in the first place from purchasing it. As I said there are many aspects of this place I enjoy, I just hope at some point they offer their vegan customers the opportunity to order something more substantial than chips and salsa.

Drinks were good, burger was very dissapointing. It was so bland. Pizza was good. They don't have fries.c'mon.food price is exaggerated.

Clayton, Joybi and Jeremy are always super amazing when I go to Terasse st-ambroise! They're always give us the best service and that's why I always come back here! Fav summer spot for sure!

If you can work remotely, here's a beautiful patio for you. Bring your portable chargers and WiFi hotspots and enjoy a 5 à 7 from 9 to 5.

Great vibe for afterwork drinks and snacks with friends. The burger is filling and absolutely delicious.

If you're into breweries, this is for you. Most of the beverages on the menu are locally brewed (read: made in the brewery right behind you). Open from noon to 11pm with a great breeze from the waterfront and chill music to set the mood. Free parking and friendly staff on site too.

NO DOGS ALLOWED
We saw that several reviews on here attested to the fact that they are dog friendly, but they in fact are NOT. I had called ahead of time to check if they did allow dogs and nobody answered the phone. I left a message and no one called me back so we drove here and saw the signs. We are very disappointed.

Update: I received a call back a couple hours after calling and leaving a message, but it was too late, we had already left after seeing the no dog signs

Great spot on the canal. Drinks are a little overpriced and the salsa is garbage. But still a nice spot

Pretty large space to chill! There was a line up for 30 minutes before finding a table.
The choice of the menu can be more various!

I like the nice, outdoorsy vibe of this place. Perfectly located by the canal and next to an open space (a field), the terrasse is spacious and relaxing specially during hot summer evenings. I heard the beer is very good there but I can definitely say their burgers really really good. Enjoy!

$20 pitchers, nice music and a chill environment, great place to hang out with 3-4 friends and have a good time

Visité l'été 2021. Si vous pouvez prendre leur bière locale sur la grande terrasse, ça vaut le coup! Aussi simple que cela. En bonus, vous pouvez vous y rendre à pied ou en vélo par le canal Lachine et ils ont des grands "racks" à vélo!

Superbe grande terrasse pour boire de la bonne bière, pizza relativement bonne à prix abordable. La seule déception c'est qu'ils ne servent pas de gin tonic donc les amateurs de cocktails à base de gin ne seront pas comblés. Sinon il y a une bonne variété de bonnea bières en fut!

Par jour de beau temps, c est tout simplement THE place ou prendre une très excellente bière - en compagnie d une vue extra sur la montagne - avant de reprendre la piste (cyclable)

We were looking for a pet friendly place to go as a family (yes, our dog is a part of our family) & St-Ambroise appeared. I read the reviews about how this place is bike& pet friendly and we decided to go. Once there, a billboard next to the entrance signaled that dogs were not
welcome. I asked the hostess/ waitress and she said' ' Yes, we have to change that. '. So much for the experience.

Nice place to stop and relax, drink and (almost) eat. Great location and potential wasted by (very) lacking hygiene. It is though one of the places where people will continue to go because they don't have better options.

Really disappointed that after 5 years they are no longer accepting dogs. No longer a cool place

La bière est vraiment excellente et si c'est votre conjoint (e) qui aime la bière plus que vous, prenez donc un cidre à la place, ils en ont aussi!

Histoire de se restaurer, laissez-vous tenter par une de leurs succulentes pizzas! Et comme les meilleures choses dans la vie, ce sont les plus simples, je vous recommande tout particulièrement la pizza au fromage, tout simplement!

Un magnifique endroit au pied du canal Lachine pour apprécier un moment de détente!

Vibe is good and beer is good but the you can have the worse burger ever in montreal. Seriously i am so disappointed

Fairly good experience overall. Menu is limited for food but has some good options -I got the pork tacos which were relatively delicious. There are great beers ales and ciders on the menu that are all brewed on site. All prices are very reasonable and affordable. Service was friendly and fast. The seating space is vast and spread out with full sun or shaded areas to choose from. The lack of table service first surprised me but it makes sense for social distancing purposes. Worth a visit

J'adore cette terrasse! On s'y sent réellement en vacances! Les petites familles y sont acceptées, les endroits pour s'assoir variés: tables hautes, tables basses, tables à pique-nique, chaises Adirondack, espaces verts pour y étendre une couverture. Il y a même un accès par la piste cyclable! En plus, la bière noire de cette brasserie est ma préférée, même à la maison! J'allais oublier la vue sur la vieille usine désaffectée qui augmente encore le cachet de cet endroit!

Great beer/cider, cool good food, amazing playlist and the vibe was fantastic for a summer patio day!

Such a great spot. Really love the serve yourself set up as it lets you take you time and you don’t feel like your being rushed at all. Staff is fun and. Helpful with beers and what’s good. Good coverage from the canal as well so it doesn’t feel like people are watching you.

Used to love stopping here on walks and bike rides but unfortunately no dogs allowed anymore (which was a big part of the appeal for many people)

It has good beers and burger. I liked the terrace and staff is good.
Only suggestion when getting sampler we were not provided the names of beer so it was difficult to order if we like from the sampler. Overall a good place to hang out in summer

A must visit in Montreal. Could be chaotic when crowded, the tables remain dirty. But great place to visit and enjoy

This terrace is just amazing! I go at least once a week during summer! Excellent variety of beer and really good vibes! I love that is pet friendly!

Great summer terrace! The food and drinks are good, the atmosphere is lovely and kid friendly. We love this local brewery!

My wife and I have been here a few times and it's now become one of our must-see destinations when we visit Montreal. McAuslan has never made a beer that I don't like and most of them are on tap. I have eaten almost everything on their menu and while the food won't win any awards, It's decent and well-priced. The tacos, however, are particularly good: I recommend them.

Set against the canal with an interesting derelict building next door, and you're in an interesting neighborhood. If you love good beer, go.

Sympa terrasse proche du canal pour l'été. Il y a beaucoup d'espace. Le menu, par contre, pourrait être un peu plus diversifié.

Un peu excentré du centre-ville, mais une très belle terrasse avec choix de bières et un délicieux hot-dog.

Very large outdoor terrace on bike trail, with plenty of shade or sun if you prefer, animal friendly.

I've been looking forward to go to this place for a long time! Expecting good beer, friendly staff and great canal view. I got all the opposite. Well the beer was great, a taster platter with my choice of 6, tangerine, cream ale and pumpkin was ridiculously good but the rest of my experience was less than mediocre. The busboy and the cooks were borderline rude. As I ask about how it works, where do we order and is it brought to us, the answer was short and rude. The condiments for the tacos were absent so I asked for lime or salsa of some sort and got a rude "no". All they had was ketchup, mustard and sriracha.none of which go on pulled pork tacos. For this reason my tacos were pretty dry. I'm pretty sad this place with so much potential is wasted because of bad service. Perhaps the end of the summer blues hit the crew a little early?

This is the best place to spend a warm summer evening in Montreal. Great beer decent snacks and perfect if you have children. There’s a huge field for them to run around in while you’re enjoying a delicious beer.

Bien que la sélection de bières st-ambroise ne soit pas l'une de mes préférées, la Terrasse est un must l'été! Bel endroit pour se retrouver entre amis, l'espace est immense, l'ambiance est bonne. La terrasse est ouverte également aux enfants et aux animaux!

Fantastic ambiance here. Obviously better on a nice sunny day than a rainy one, as the terrace is outside. Great scenery, right along the Lachine Canal (you can hop right off the bike path!) and near some of the old factories. The staff here are friendly and helpful. Lots of beers on offer. They have a whole range of the beers they brew, from cream ales to tangerine IPAs and everything in between. Delicious food (try the hot dog a la stout, with the nachos and homemade salsa!), Including fresh baked pizza to order. Not a lot of places better for the price, you can even play a few games they have out for customers! Definitely a great stop whether a lunch out of the office or a weeknight/end outing. Also should be noted that the terrace is kid and dog friendly.

Great place to go in the end of the afternoon for a beer and some snacks. Beergarden style with lots of room for a lot of people. The big lawn in front of an old construction gives this place a nice touch. Will definitely go again.

Very laid back atmosphere, perfect halt when cycling on the lachine canal. Great selection of beer as it is the terasse of the brewing compagny. Afternoon or evening this is the place to be.
