Very good attitude towards new arrivals. I was registered and on the same day I received a food kit. They paid a lot of attention to me, explained everything, were polite. Thank you!
Ce dépôt est magnifique, propre, le personnel est au soin, souriant. Freindly. Faut noter juste que les RDV sur votre site ne fonctionne pas malheureusement.
I am very grateful to these people for their help and products. They treated my situation with understanding. I rented a room in the area where this food bank lived and I didn’t have a rental agreement for my place of residence, but people registered me and made an appointment. Everyone is very friendly, always smiling. Thank you very much
Worthless. Staff have issues with their priorities and discrimination to its fullest. Most people who go to community work shops are usually minority which these peoples have no training to deal with and show no respect. They are more involve into political correctness. Considering they are the only food depot in NDG and most of us are obligated to go get our basket from there and exceptions should not be done since all of Canada is going through a crisis. Dishes are too small, programs are ruined from students who have no clue to deal with groups and that we have to accept their lack of respect and repeated faults
The Depot Community Food Centre on Somerled Avenue in NDG promotes healthy eating, as their meals and food basket contain only healthy foods. The Depot is very well organized and staffed; some of the poorly run food charities in Montreal should send their people here to observe and take notes (looking at you, Marché Bon Accueil - Welcome Hall Mission). Whoever funds The Depot should know that their money is being incredibly well spent.
The free lunch is open to everyone and very tasty and filling. Usually vegetarian and often gluten-free. Coffee and tea available too. A beautiful space filled with great community.
J'ai adoré çete endroit Ilya beaceaup de bénévoles et il sont très jantie et je leur souhaite bravo çi tu manques de boufe çai landroi pour tan procure.
It's usually hard to find a table because the majority of them are taken up at any given time by people who are not eating. Maybe they finished their meal an hour ago, or maybe they just came to hang out and use the wifi (there is a public library two blocks away). And it can be a bit difficult to get a meal, possibly because the servers are unsure about who is there to eat and who is not.
Had an absolutely lovely experience getting my first basket, fresh fruit, vegetables, milk, eggs, bread, pasta and canned goods. It's so nice to know that this is available to the community. Everyone who was working or volunteering was super nice and welcoming. The restaurant is super cozy and warm. If you're feeling anxious at all about going, I was too but they made me feel so welcomed.
Been living in the neighborhood for around 5 years. And just find this place 6 months ago, the volunteers are super nice, the food is always delicious and I love all the good products they provide!
I had made an appoinent for 10h45-11am. I arrive around 10h50, i asked the older gentle man if i could grab a bite to eat b/c i seen a bunch of people eating, and i was genuinely hungry. 8 months pregnant, so my belly obviously shows. The man told me no i couldnt grab a plate to eat because i was late, i asked him how was i late if my appoinent was between 1045-11, and i was 5 minutes late. He told me to take my ticket and go wait in line for the free groceries, i couldnt eat lunch unless i wanted to lose my groceries. I decided to take the groceries, i get to the groceries the lady told me i have 50$ to spend. Everytime i go there i get 100$ to spend b/c i am a household of 3,2 small children myself and im visibly pregnant, the lady who was supposed to do the grocery calculation told me its 50, she didnt care about my children, and walked off. I waited on confusion for about 5 minutes before someone else came to help me. I feel less than human, i feel so disrespected. At this point its better to steal groceries or starve than to go back there.
Thank you very much for your help! Kind and nice people! I received a basket for the first time (for two: me and my daughter). I am grateful that you are!
I even drank delicious coffee, although I could have eaten, but I wasn't hungry at that moment:)
Went with 2 senior ladies and were welcomed warmly for a free meal with turned out to be simple but filling.it's clean.there's a food bank onsite.kids can come too.
I appreciate the community for adapting towards indigenous issues by allowing me to get use to taking up some space with opinions, the food is lovely and I enjoyed learning about belonging finally!
