The Ritz-Carlton, Montreal

Review of high tea. Grossly disappointing experience. We were practically sat in the lobby, so every time the door opened, cold air rushed in. Service was sub par and inattentive, food was terrible- soggy sandwiches (all of them), dessert bites were one note- each the same note- jam, scones were OK, nothing more, tables made for midgets or dolls- felt like we were sat at a kiddie table- ridiculous. Do NOT recommend this at all.

We hosted an event at the Ritz-Carlton. Everything was great from banquet to accomodation. The hotel is deserved the best one in Montreal.

CHECK YOUR RECIEPTS! Double charged. Called to address but received no follow up or addressing of the issues. I've been hung up op on several times by a supposed "accounting team". Been weeks and still no help. Service has been absolutely horrendous. I've had better customer service experiences at motels.

The service was incredible. The employees at the ritz goes above and beyond for there guest. Havent seen service at this level before.

The room is newly updated and clean. The service was great.

Upon check-in I was told that breakfast was included. When I checked out there were several "overage" charges for breakfast. For this reason I wouldn't recommend this hotel.

Pas a la hauteur d'un Ritz. Je suis allée à 3 reprises au Ritz de Londres.le gros luxe pour l'afternoon tea comparativement à celui de Montréal. Plus que ordinaire. Très grande déception. A ne pas refaire. Sandwich 4 bouchés! Ridicule.
Par contre les scones excellent ainsi que le service.

Just wanted to give a big THANK YOU to Arlene and the team at this Ritz-Carlton. I went on a trip with my mother and decided to treat ourselves with a stay here while we were in Montreal. The room upon arrival was perfect as usual and I was able to get a free upgrade to a larger room via my Marriott status. Arlene from guest relations had reached out to me the night before and worked with me on preparing something extra special for my mother - on the house!

Will definitely look to stay here again for special occasions when I’m in Montreal again!

Please replace the weird touch screen with normal light switches. I spent 45 minutes trying to turn it off.

Nous sommes allés prendre le thé en après-midi. La nourriture était bonne. La serveuse était sympathique et semblait faire som possible mais le service était terriblement lent. On a dû attendre au moins 30 pour avoir le thé. La serveuse s’est excusée plusieurs fois pour les retards. C’était un peu désolant d’aller au Ritz et d’avoir un service si médiocre.

Very good stay, I love the pool and the giant sundeck on the roof, the service is excellent as it should be and this was the stay of a lifetime. I wasn't there for many days but still I had it off my bucket list! The restaurant is really good but not the best I would have expected. But hey it was worth it, I thought it was good and delicious.

The food here is excellent. I love this place, there food is extravagant and delicious and if you have a chance you have to go for the high tea. The teas are delicious and the food is to die for. The ritz is the place to be

I was 21 the first time my mother brought me to the Ritz Montreal, we had such a nice time. This hotel has remained a special place for me and my family over the past decade. My husband and I were planning a special family get together here in December, and the whole experience has been disappointing. We have reserved a one bedroom suite for ourselves and another standard for our daughters, and the whole booking experience was not very accommodating. We have been trying to make a dinner reservation at Maison Boulud downstairs and it has been unnecessarily complicated (we are adhering to all COVID guidelines). It will be difficult to find new accommodations on such short notice, but we have decided to cancel with the Ritz, due to the declining service. I feel disappointed to have lost a hotel I always thought of as very special in the past.

The Ritz Carlton is a beautiful hotel and the service is top notch. We took a staycation package; our room was beautiful, and we were greeted with treats and wonderful service. This hotel is definitely a 5 star experience!

Décor charmant. Aurions aimé que les portes soient ouvertes sur le jardin intérieur mais ce n'est plus possible. Manque un tantinet de finesse dans le service. Aurions tous souhaité un ou deux sandwichs de plus pour équilibrer avec l'offre sucrée. Très bon.

We've been back to this hotel through the years. It offers wonderful service, comfortable rooms, and is located to soo many points of interest. Wonderful staff and food.

We went to the Palm Court for afternoon tea and everything was wonderful. The staff was extremely attentive and kind. The food was delicious. One of us were vegetarian and they were able to accommodate them. I can not wait to go back.

Service exceptionnel, professionnel et courtois du Valet, à la réception jusqu’au personnel de service aux chambres. Bravo à l’équipe! Service très rapide également!

Chambre sublime, excessivement propre et COVID proof (les manettes de TV, verres, tasses sont enveloppé sous vide + collant pour identifier les boîtiers désinfectés + remise d’une trousse avec masques et désinfectant). Notre chambre exécutive était muni de domotique, siège de toilette chauffant avec fonctionnalités de lavage (style bidet).

Très beau mobilier. Beau design chic.
Très propre et convivial.

Psst Réservez d’avance votre place au restaurant Maison Boulud. Allez y prendre un cocktail signature et prenez le Foie gras à l’Amaretto… un pur délice!

The Ritz-Carlton knows how to hold a reputation. You will not be disappointed.
Our stay was for 10 days while on a break in Montreal. It’s an architectural masterpiece. Excellent hotel and service as expected.

Outstanding service in all aspects. Room impeccably clean, front of house extremely professional, polite and friendly. Food was first class. Everything was spot on and superior.

Came here for the high tea and absolutely loved it. The masala chai was delicious and really interesting. As expected, the scones were also delicious and the little sandwiches were a great match with the yummy sweets at the end. The outside area is quite enjoyable with the little duck pond in the back. Altogether a very nice and pleasant experience.

Passed by the Ritz-Carlton after eating at the attached restaurant called Maison Boulud. Definitely a location for an event or a photoshoot. Beautiful!

A truly wonderful experience. This was more than a hotel stay, it was a weekend to remember. My wife and I were lucky that we could use Bonvoy points to get 3 free nights, and even then we got an upgrade. At no point during the stay did we feel like free-loaders, we were treat just like anyone else. The staff were so hard working, yet always smiling and seemed happy to answer any questions. We did a full breakfast in the room, which was awesome then had a meal in the restaurant. Again, this was simply amazing.

This comes as no surprise, Ritz-Carlton has once again succeeded in making our stay a very special one. We went for a weekend away in the city at the Ritz to celebrate a birthday and everyone at the hotel was so welcoming, cheerful and helped me decorate the room for the celebration as well! Always a nice stay out here, already looking forward to my next escape at the Ritz:)

I have learned the hard way that very few places put effort in customer care. Fortunately, the Ritz is not one of them. They are experts at client services and I have never had a problem. Any issue that may arise, they are ready to fix the problem and provide complimentary extras for the mishap. Find me another place that will take care of you like this I dare you. They also helped me organize a surprise anniversary for my friend's hotel stay. If you can't stay the night I strongly suggest enjoying tea time at the palm court. Fit for a queen. Let's not forget the food; either at the banquet or their restaurant you will not be disappointed. Their desserts are delicious and everything is made from scratch in house. I love this place it's like my second home.

Update: I booked another night and the customer service is so refreshing. I am not lying when I say this is my second home.

Booked a Staycation package and had a terrible experience on many levels. For example, arrival amenities included in Staycation package were not delivered until called and reminded. F & B service was extremely poor, with many items from the menu missing and finally we were told that the Spa offer (30% off) would have no expiry as there were no available slots during our stay. However St. James Spa said they would not honor the 30% discount after July. There was no explanation for this. Extremely disappointing as no one was willing to take the ownership or provide an explanation. Given I hold a status with Marriott, the experience was doubly disappointing.

We had high tea at the iconic Ritz Carleton on my birthday. The food was excellent. The house made pastries were melt-in-your-mouth delicious. I loved the decor, with the high ceilings and fireplace. The waiter was very kind and answered all my questions about the tea, jams and the hotel history. A unique experience and very worthwhile. Steps away from the Musée des Beaux Arts.

Très bel environnement pour la conférence CAMSS 2016, de belles conférences avec un panel d’invités incroyables et des rencontres fort intéressantes. Service impeccable et excellent déjeuner.

I LOVE the Ritz Carlton Montreal for many reasons, Bouloud restaurant houses the best chef in town, and has a warm and welcoming ambiance.

The hotel itself houses luxury at its finest, from the room to the quality of service. I had an outstanding experience hosting my last event there with the entire #dreamteam that helped organize from Olimpia, Donna, Pierro to the wonderful and beautiful Katia. I highly recommend this venue for all and any private event, as well as enjoying a night out and staying in their beautiful rooms.

Had a wonderful stay last weekend. The staff is amazing and the hotel it self is outstanding, nothing less expected from Ritz.

I was lucky enough to stay here one weekend in early February. What a delightful experience. Wonderful staff, delicious food, outstanding rooms, the works!

I've attended a meeting at the hotel. I was on crutches. All the personnel was super helpful. I didn't notice a ramp on the main entrance, I had assistance to jump on the steps.

Went for high tea. Great experience. The staff were incredibly helpful and the food was great. Nice selection of champagne and tea.

Great hotel! Clean and comfortable rooms. Bed was beyond comfortable! I even asked what was the mattress brand, pillows and bedding. We had the best sleep ever:) Restaurant on property serves delicious breakfast! Would stay again!

I came to tour the property, Jeffrey whom is the sales manager was kind enough to show me the ballroom, bedroom, high tea, lounging area and end at the lobby. It is located in a busy area in downtown - beautiful spot. This hotel has a classic feel yet fully updated. The rooms are surgically clean equipped with full bathtub and shower. There is a button to notify house attendant when you are occupying the room so servicing the room will be done when it is vacant unless you want complete privacy. No more knocking on doors unless you are requesting something specific or in room dining! The lounging area is available for all in house guest with pool to enjoy or just relaxing on the side with a book. Or simply taking a nap. Technology is top notch here - it was magical walking through the first Ritz Carlton built! Thank you Jeffrey for the amazing tour!

Food was fantastic. Presentation was nice but not over the top. Portions were good but not huge. It was the right amount of food to not gorge yourself. The service was friendly and formal. Multiple staff serve you. Bread is fresh baked and unlimited, as is coffee but not fancy coffees. Attire is semi formal for lunch and formal for dinner. There is both indoor and outdoor eating, as well as an open air patio. Cost is on the higher end. Lunch with coffee will run you $40. Dinner 60-100 more if you like wine.

Simply Amazing. We celebrated our anniversary at the Ritz Carlton Montreal Ambassador Debra was extremely helpful the room that we received was wonderful we will definitely be back, thanks again! =)
