TONIQUE

Service was pretty bad. We ordered 2 mimosas. Only 1 came. Been waiting for hours just to be told by the waitresses that they cannot give a second one cause they are closing soon. The waitress didn't even check on us, we had to go downstairs to ask for it. Food is not great. We could not finish it. Table we had was wonky and bent, so we had to be careful when we were trying to eat. There were flies. Overall, pretty horrible. Btw you need to pay and tip before food is served in the beginning.

Excellent déjeuner original mais "facture touristique". Les commandes se font à l'intérieur et ils viennent porter à la table. Ambiance et décor très bien.

Really awesome brunch. It's sort of table service, but you order at the counter first, which is totally ok. Indoor seating can be tight, most is outside, so mind the weather.

20230903 Here are my comments from my 1st visit:

- The young staff appeared to be inexperience but once I got their attention, they were egar to help.
- Food arrived shortly after we had put in our order at the counter. No prob there.
- The crêpe was excellent! The chai latte was too syrupy for my taste.
- We really liked the garden setting which really enhanced our eating experience.

We will definitely come back and try other items on the menu.

Tip: If you can't find parking behind the restaurant or on the streets, try the Gatineau Park Visitor Centre. There are always ppl coming & going there.

I really want to give this place 5 stars: the food is great, the ambience is also excellent - especially the patio area - and there is usually parking available.

The one caveat is the service has been a hit or miss for us Sometimes they go the extra mile and are super accommodating for things like adding ham to your breakfast. Other times, they simply aren't willing to accommodate.

Still recommended, just hope you get a nice cashier.

First time I visited this place. Upon arrival, I wasn’t greeted by a staff member, or directed to a table. After spending 30 minutes trying to find an empty table I finally ordered. I ordered the classic breakfast for $16 (+ Tax). The food took 30 minutes to arrive and wasn’t even hot. The bread was to thick making it be barely buttered and very bland. The fried potatoes were tasty on the outside but on the inside were undercooked. The omelette was bland and there was barely any bacon and it was over cooked and cold. It was hard as a brick but did taste quite nice. Overall the environment of this place is really nice, gives you a feel of a small village, however it is for the sole purpose of attracting tourists. The food was not really good and it was a little to busy for my liking.

Tonique has easily become my favorite restaurant! Food is excellent, service is always great and you are always greated with a big smile. Tonique does not disappoint. If you are looking for a good local place to eat or even just grab a coffee in Chelsea, look no further!

Super bon. Par contre les prix sont assez élevés conte tenue que l'ons doit commander à l'intérieur et donné le pourboire avant le service.

J'y suis allé pour la première et la dernière fois. Il n'est pas clair que vous deviez trouver votre propre table, mais vous commandez ensuite à l'intérieur.au moment où nous sommes allés commander à l'intérieur, quelqu'un d'autre a pris notre table et la serveuse nous a dit de partir. La serveuse aux cheveux bouclés dirigera cette entreprise jusqu'au sol. La pire expérience de ma vie!

Tonique is the best place to go for a coffee and a delicious breakfast in the Chelsea village! The staff is friendly, the place is very clean and well taken care of. The beautiful garden adds a charming vibe to this place, 10/10 don't miss out while you're in Chelsea!

TourVeggie burger was served at room temperature. Unappetizing mush that tasted uncooked.
Home fries were barely warm.
Ketchup bottles were disgusting with mayo and mustard on the bottle tip. The counter girl was polite.

3rd time I'm here. Excellent.
Cowbonga smoothie and an open face breakfast sandwich. "Inspired"
I said about that sandwich and very yummy. We sat outside in the garden which was beautiful.

Everything is perfect. Staff is friendly, good and coffee is excellent and the environment is wonderful.

The attention was not good. The front desk girl was unpleasant and the coffee was really bad. Overall all the experience was not good. Next time we will just go to the cafes on the main road.

Très beau petit restaurant proche du Parc de Gatineau à Chelsea. Endroit très agréable, convivial et amical. Agréablement surprise par les variétés de plats. Bons choix de cafés, thés. Belle expérience culinaire.

It's a nice stop in Chelsea but some of the menu items are a bit pricey for what you get. I had the grilled cheese and bacon sandwich, which was reasonable and tasty. They do have a great craft beer selection.

Excellent coffee and food (we had eggs, bacon, crepes). The kitchen seemed quite busy but our order arrived quickly. Nice staff too!
