Meilleur restaurant à Montréal/Québec autant pour le diner que pour le souper. Toqué serait digne de 3* Michelin. Chef Normand Laprise est un pionnier en cuisine.

Tout les mets sont spéctaculaire sans aucune exception. Si il y a un restaurant que vous devez essayer et gâter vos papilles gustative Toqué est definivement le meilleur choix.

In May 2023, I ordered the tasting menu and the 5 wine pairing. The flavors were fabulous! Every bite made me smile. I did not want the evening to end. Every staff person I interacted with was amazing! Everyone took their time and explained each plate and wine.

Layered, seasoned just right, and full of surprising little details. There are many cute little ideas in the dessert, the perfect balance of sweet and sour, the aroma of grilled nuts is very charming, the overall experience is great

Toque was fantastic. From the food items, to the service, to the atmosphere: all hit the mark.

We started off by ordering a couple of non-alcoholic drinks. Then received sourdough bread and butter from a local Montreal bakery. Both of which were great.

We were then served an amuse bouche that was top-tier.

For our apps, we ordered the foie gras and the cheese plate. Both of these items were our least favorite and it might have solely been due to our personal palate preferences. You could see though that a lot of thought and care went into the preparation of the items.

Mains: my fiancé got the tomato cavatelli with lobster and I got the beef tenderloin. Both of these items displayed immense intricacies and unique flavors. For my dish, the tenderloin was not the sole star of the show. The mushrooms, vegetables and sauce complemented the beef very well.

For our dessert, the waiter said he would surprise us with something. What came out was the Manjari ganache. We could not be more pleased with the dish. I’d be remiss if I didn’t consider this to be in one of my top 3 favorite desserts of all time.

We then received a small parting dessert, compliments of the chef.

All-in-all, Toque was a success. We intend to visit Maison Boulud in a couple of days and look forward to seeing how that compares.

Terrible experience. We went for our anniversary. The food was decent but not worth the price. We did not order wine (we don't drink and my girlfriend is allergic to alcohol) and we got treated like cattle - water spilled, plates knocked, no coffee or tea offered: I am told by someone in the industry that these were not-so-subtle hints that we weren't spending enough money. I will never be back and will be warning others who might think of coming off this place.

I often see this restaurant on some lists of "the best restaurants" chosen by some magazine or website - sometimes in the world! Decided to try it for my birthday to see how good it really was. The decor was nice and they had valet parking. We tried the tasting menu ($180 per person without the wine option; we ordered our own wine). Also ordered the caviar. The dishes were plated in a very tasteful manner. The appetizers were wonderful. We didn't like some of the main dishes (I think there were 3, we lost track). Would have been nice if one of them was fish, not just all meat. The desserts were nicely presented, but the taste left much to be desired. It was a bit difficult to understand the waiter who described the dishes to us because of his thick French accent. All in all, what we really appreciated was the presentation of the dishes. The service was attentive, but the waiter lacked knowledge of the wine selection. Also we were seated in a table passed often by the wait staff, and once or twice they bumped into my chair. Do I think it was worth $400 per person and deserved being on the best restaurants lists? I mean.there are just too many good ones in this world.

Stellar experience.one of the best meals i've had in a terribly long time, and i feel it will stick in the memory on par with such places as blue hill @ stone barns, pre-vegan emp and atera.very well paced service, that ensured we left comfortable, with an excellent bar/wine team to support.the seasonality of the menu was evident, and despite repeated ingredients nothing felt or tasted same-y, a testament to the deft hand of the kitchen team.truly spectacular.

Je suis un habitué des bonnes tables, j’avais donc hâte d’essayer le Toqué! L’endroit est superbe, l’accueil et le service étaient impeccables, mais les plats n’étaient pas très actuels et peu goûteux. J’aurais pu sans problème reproduire chacun des éléments mangés sans difficulté à la maison et probablement mieux réussir certains des assaisonnements et des accompagnements. Je tenterai ma chance à nouveau de soir, peut-être est lié au service du midi, mais a part la cuisson de ma viande qui était réussie, je ne peux pas recommander Toqué!

Une véritable institution de la haute gastronomie québécoise. Assurez-vous de demander à faire la visite des cuisines après votre repas, c’est une expérience en soi. Très recommandé si vous en avez les moyens.

Whatever you do definitely get the black sesame bavarois (3rd photo)! It was one of my favorite things I've ever eaten. Also the wine pairings were impeccable and absolutely worth it.

We had the most enjoyable experience here! Everyone at Toqué! Made us feel so welcome. Dennis went above and beyond for us with food and wine recommendations (we got to chat with the sommelier as well) and even letting us in on some unique local spots to check out. The food was amazing and incomparable to anything we have ever had before! A very special night we will never forget. Thank you!

Beautiful experience with Toqué. Ambiance, service and food just phenomenal. We came here for our anniversary and it’s perfect. We love every single dish. My daughter love the Duck Magret, the minute she saw the dish she said she would like to have a second one right away. Thank you for such a great dinner with you. We will be back.

Great quality food and wine pairings! Exceptional service and courteous staff. A bit expensive but all and all a wonderful experience. Certainly one of the best restaurants in Montreal. Would totally recommend.

Excellent service and ambiance. Waiters had good knowledge of their wines and food. The bread was average. We took the 7-course tasting menu and order our own wine. Food is nicely presented and is great but not amazing. The main courses we had was quail and duck magret. The quail is perfectly cooked but in terms of taste, I find it pretty average and the duck was a bit too chewy. We had a generous piece of foie gras (terrine) or maybe even too generous and it was hard to finish the last few bites! The fish was scrumptious and the dessert is a piece of art. But I guess at this price we are really just paying for the service and experience. We’ve had better food in Montreal.

If you love food and love wine make this a destination. Don’t fool around with the menu order the tasting menu- let their kitchen do what it does best -create.
Let your mouth explore flavours which can only be imagined in dreams.
To go along with this adventure don’t choose a wine let their sommelier guide you. Have them pair something that will compliment the experience.
My second time to Toque in 15 years and It’s amazing again. To the chef and staff - thank you.

Tried this restaurant for Valentine's Day and it did not disappoint. For a tasting menu, the portions were large, much larger than other restaurants of the same caliber. The staff were exceptional and made sure that we had a fantastic experience. This is a must if you appreciate fine dining and service.

The service and presentation were both 10/10. However, the food was a bit underwhelming for the price. The interior also needs to be refreshed for the price and prestige of the place. The bread was cold. This seems like a great business lunch to impress colleagues or clients but not somewhere I'd choose to come back to otherwise. Came for lunch and had the guinea fowl and octopus. It is nice that for lunch they include an appetizer and coffee or tea.

Toqué! Sans contredit, l'une des tables les mieux réputées de la ville.
Le service et l'ambiance sont impeccable.vous êtes assurés d'être bien servi, le tout dans un environnement réconfortant, bien aménagé et bien éclairé.

Ce n'est pas un restaurant à porté de toute les bourses, certes.mais pour s'offrir une belle expérience, il s'agit des restaurants les mieux côtés de la métropole. Le seul petit bémol, est-ce que ça vaut le rapport qualité-prix? C'Est à vous de juger.

From the first greeting of bonjour/hello the experience is exceptional. Arrive early, enjoy a bar that would feel perfectly at home in a Connery era Bond or in a funky modern club. The wine list is delightfully playful and even the glass offerings are reasonably priced and interesting. We chose the tasting menu and I cannot recommend it enough. Almost every dish had a clarity of focus and provided an amusing experience in my mouth. Local ingredients played perfectly with modern cooking techniques but it didn't tip into an experiencal restaurant (which isn't a bad thing, just not what they are doing). Service was unfailingly pleasant with just the right amount of thoughtful patter but never getting in the way of the star of the show, the plates. The tasting menu changes with such alacrity that it would be a bit of schadenfreude to write about details here, but every dish we had worked well when all the components came together in a bite. If you are so inclined the wine pairings with the courses struck the perfect side notes to the stars. One of the whites was just a little over chilled at time of serving but nothing a warm hand and 1 minute couldn't fix. Just go, order the tasting, order the wine. If you need a different endorsement Martin Picard was at the bar nearly our entire time here and he looked like he was having a good evening. Thank you Toque! For taking amazing local food and letting me experience it in a whole new way.

Un des meilleures tables de Montréal. Je recommande particulièrement d'y aller un midi. Les prix y sont "très doux" au vu de la prestation. Pour le soir, c'est une autre histoire.

Restaurant was just amazing. We had a 7 course tasting menu and every dish was absolutely an explosion of flavors. Some of the dishes were actually large portioned (like the trout and the duck) and the service was terrific. Would definitely recommend this restaurant!

Outstanding dining! The tasting menu was superb and the service was attentive and prompt. Flavors were unique and interesting and even though your tasting menu is chef's choice, they do accommodate any preferences and restrictions you might have.

Hands down the best meal I’ve ever had. Each of the courses in the tasting menu was completely unique and added something special to the meal. Also, the service was outstanding and they accommodated a bunch of dietary restrictions. The wine pairing is a must; the sommeliers tell a story about each wine and how it pairs with your course. It’s definitely expensive, but you’re paying for a 2-3 hour experience, not just the food.

One of my favorite restaurant! Yes, it is expensive, but the quality is there. We always take the tasting-menu, it's never the same, and it's always incredibly good! Perfect quiet place to go threat yourself with love ones!

J'ai été au Toqué pour leur menu Jeunesse, concept que je trouve superbe surtout pour une introduction aux expériences gastronomiques. Avec quelques restrictions alimentaires, le chef a réussi à m'offrir un menu modifié qui a réussi à faire quelques jaloux à la table. Mes compliments aux chefs!

Wow, just wow. This place was absolutely fantastic and everything we had here blew me out of the water. All of my friends and I had the seven course tasting menu, and each one was simply divine. From the Balsam Fir Foam adjoining the chilled clam at the start, to the last sip of my digestif, I was having a fantastic time. Our server, Kate, was very friendly and knowledgeable and made our visit all the more enjoyable. Additionally, I had the prestige wine pairing, seven glasses, and it was worth every cent! Every glass was suited to the course as if a lock and key, they enhanced every bite and turned a great dinner into a masterpiece. The sommelier could answer all questions and had lots of interesting information on each wine. Again, wow, I just can't wait to go back! (Well, maybe my wallet can)

We had the tasting menu which was wonderful and a ton of fun. I am a really good cook so I love it when I have food that has all sorts of wonderful flavor I can't identify and could never replicate. The sommelier was charming with wonderful stories about wonderful wines. The trout confit and venison loin were especially good, as was the foie gras.

A thank you luncheon paid by daughter living overseas. I took a best friend of fifty years, who works in the Montreal restaurant business, to sample the lunch menu. The Quebec seasonal produce was fresh and nicely presented. I had fish and my friend chose duck breast; both succulent. Although the portions appeared small they were satisfying. I ordered a sweet dessert and my friend asked for a cheese plate. Good coffee followed.
The main course was paired with good Italian and French wines.
The ambiance was quiet and pleasant allowing one to savor the dishes.
The decor's signature colors are burgundy and aquamarine, the chairs very comfortable and the snowy white tablecloths provide good contrast. The visuals reminded me of a late 19th.century brasserie revisited by a 1970s Scandinavian designer. The coat -room and attendant gave sense of attendance to the clientele.
The only drawback would be the service. Although very polite and well meaning, some of the staff were awkward and would benefit from further training in terms of table layout, menu presentation and removal of dishes.
This is also a general statement for the restaurant business in Montreal. The kitchen has arrived ; it's the service that requires attention.
