TRAN Cantine Vietnamienne

Great food and one of my go tos for days I want take out. I love the chicken bahnmi and vermicelli. The fresh spring rolls are tasty too but a but over priced in my opinion.

If you want cheaper pho then look perhaps on the South Shore and not here.

At Tran Cantine, the portions are quite immense. Two people could share one portion. We didn't and stuffed ourselves pretty good.the kids could share.

Lots of meaty and tasty pork meat (not poor cut with lots of tendons) in the grilled pork with rice. Always a hit for my kids who do not prefer a noodle dish that day.

Decor is trendy and modern vs.a mom and pop shop with traditional look.

Order up front and your order will arrive at your table lighting quick. Staff are all so cool and friendly. They have a busser who seems to focus solely on clearing plates which is nice if you need to call them over to ask for something more.

Cold drinking water is free!

Have to mention the turtle in the huge tank along with his fish friend. He will follow your hand.

Super bon pho. Bon service. Bonne portion. Endroit super propre. J’ai aimé comment le contenant pour emporter.

Bouillon pas assez chaud. Le bœuf saignant n’a jamais pu cuire.
Sriracha n’est pas authentique! Garde à vous! La bouteille dit Sriracha, mais à l’intérieur ce n’est pas la sauce originale

We go there every two weeks, limonade with 2 rolls + small pho is my go to.
It’s really fast so perfect for a quick lunch.

Nourriture délicieuse et excellent service. Je trouvais un peu cher 25$ pour un pho, mais la quantité de boeuf dans le plat m'a totalement convaincue! Leur Banhmi a l'air vraiment bon aussi, mais ils sont sold out chaque fois que j'y vais: ')

They have the best chicken banh mi and imperial vegetarian rolls. Every time I get it I ask myself why I don't get it more often! They are extra nice and accommodating

One of the best viet restaurant in the St henri. Banh mi is a must. It's grilled meat and not cold cuts. Prices are more than fair and portion are pretty generous. There's a few tables to seat but most people take out. Strongly recommend.

Food here is wonderful. Banh mi are excellent.
However, I’m sitting here now and other patrons are eating with their dog…. The dos is literally eating off of the floor. Doesn’t feel clean.
Guess I’ll have to look elsewhere for banh mi sandwichs

Food is fine, but not exceptional. Downsides: expensive and quite slow, even for take out.

Edit: they have a delicious, amazing veggie sandwich I adore! So a 5+ stars if possible!

My boyfriend LOVED the banh mi, but no veggie or tofu one for me. I still give it 4 stars because one of the employees said a veggie version is coming. Plus, everyone I've spoken to has given rave reviews, including pho & vermicelli.

Portions quite generous but also quite pricey. Highly recommend coming for lunch! I had the chicken banh-mi. It was good and I had enough for two portions.

The best, very well stuffed bhanmi sandwich in town! You should also order the beef salad, it's awesome!

J’ai commander 1 bouillon simple et l’autre avec extra (quelque feuilles de menthes et des fèves germés), 4 rouleaux de printemps frits et une toute petite salade à la citronnelle et tenez vous bien ça m’a coûté un gros 40$! J’ai fait le saut, mais je me suis dit le goût doit être vraiment exceptionnel pour maintenir une bonne clientèle avec des prix aussi élevés. Malheureusement encore là j’ai été déçu. Ce n’était pas mauvais, mais je m’attendait à un petit plus pour le prix. Bref, pour l’instant je ne pense pas y retourner même si j’étais curieuse de goûter leur sandwichs Banh-mi au poulet. On verra bien, peut-être lors de ma prochaine visite dans le coin.

Belle place très hip avec une cuisine vietnamienne standard, mais les prix sont EXORBITANTS! 21$ pour une Pho et 24$ pour un bol de vermicels avec viande et salade (rouleaux en sus!).

Spring rolls were good and fresh but wish there was more varieties of veggies like the authentic ones (mint, chives, cilantro etc.) not just lettuce as for the Banh Mi it was good but could be better if the bread was toasted and the pork cooked fresh and not reheated especially for the price they charge it's a bit disappointing

If there was a mix of veggies, unfortunately the ratio I had was more lettuce as I couldn't taste the other ones.

I'm not asking to dry up the bread but serving it warmer would've had a better taste then just room temperature just to give a crunchy texture on every bite, unfortunately the meat tasted as it was reheated.

I had a take out therefore I couldn't tell anyone on the spot that is the reason I'm leaving you my comments on here.

Please note that I'm giving you constructive comments to help you make things better and not trying to knock you down.

Avoid! I have celiac disease and ordered a gluten free salad. The online menu enabled you to specify “gluten free” when ordering each item, and I also added a comment that said “celiac disease/gluten allergy”. My order arrived, and after a few bites realized there was gluten on it. Called the restaurant, and they admitted it. There only offer was to simply to replace the bowl the next day. HORRIBLE! I am very sick from their multiple oversights…no apology, just a potential new meal the next day. As if I trust therm? ’

For the love of humanity and kindness, FREE THIS POOR TURTLE. How can we sit and enjoy a meal while a helpless, unstimulated giant turtle bobs back and forth in an empty cage? So insane. Never coming to eat here again.

I was ordering food at the restaurant. When paying for my order, as I was tapping my card to pay, the cashier told me that they don't accept AMEX but the transaction went through. It appears that they do accept it but they lied in order to make me pay by other means. This was followed by the girl behind the counter in a rude manner telling me quote "next time I tell you we don't accept AMEX you dont pay with AMEX".
Don't worry, there will not be a next time.

If you don't take AMEX because you think the fee is high, then you should know that (I looked this up) my Visa card has a higher fee for your business than my AMEX. But I understand that it is convenient to have someone to blame for transaction charges that everyone else has.

As a customer, I also pay fees to come to your business but you don't hear me complaining about the fact that I am paying $15 plus tax (the tax by the way is 10x what credit card fees charge) for a piece of bread with a bit of chicken in it and a 300% markup on soft drinks. Not to mention the gas I paid to fill up my overpriced car to drive on the wartorn roads of Montreal to get to your incoveniently placed restaurant. If I am ok with paying $20 for a piece of bread, then it is probably best for you to not berate for paying you by the means that I prefer even if it costs you an extra 10 cents.

Sincèrement, on m'a dit que ce n'était pas vraiment une recette de Banh Mi traditionnels.mais peu importe, c'est tellement bon que je ne vois pas en quoi c'est un problème.
Les prix sont assez hauts mais c'est copieux et délicieux.
