What an great experience! From the very beginning, Transport Regent was organized and professional. The administration was able to quickly make an appointment at my convenience, as well as supply me with moving materials and some other information I had not thought of.

On moving day, the movers were super polite and very efficient. They moved us out completely in 6 hours and we had A LOT of stuff.

As stressful of an experience as moving day can be, Transport Regent made it as smooth as possible. I highly recommend them!

They were supposed to deliver a sofa I bought from Structube for which I had paid extra for a personalized delivery. They saw the stairsets and refused to bring the sofa in on the pretense that the box did not fit in the door (which is of the standard size). They were in a hurry to leave, did not try to find a solution and one of the two gentlemen was rude and aggressive from the get-go. Worse delivery experience of my life.

I used transport regent for my move from NC, USA to Toronto, Canada about a year ago. Teri is a great manager and was responsive and helpful. The move from US was tricky and we only had one guy to move and pack our furniture. The truck arrived a day late! But everything was smooth once we reached Toronto. They arrived on time (I believe they delivered our stuff within a week!) and the amount they charged was exactly as mentioned. No surprise charges and no damage to our items. Thanks Teri and team!

I am changing my review because they called to try and fix the issue.and try to understand what had happened with the delivery. I understand mistakes such as these can happen, but it was mostly just both companies blaming each other for the mistake (Structube and Regent). I feel bad for the employees who have to deal with this.

Absolutely terrible experience! I made an appointment with their workers and even confirmed the delivery date with them. I did not get it on the scheduled date and assumed i may have misunderstood and waited another week for my delivery to arrive. It did not. I called them to ask them about it and they did not even schedule the appointment. The first employee i spoke too told me that i had called them to cancel the delivery alltogether, while the other employee said that i had never called. Not organized at all.

J'ai eu affaire à eux pour une livraison Structube. Ils ont coincé mon divan dans l'escalier, m'ont dit qu'ils n'arrivaient pas à le passer, l'ont laisser là et sont partis. J'ai du appeler des amis et ça passait très bien. Très déçus du service offert.

Edit: I am adjusting my review and rating, as Regent called me very shortly after my review was posted to better understand my experience and apologized for the issues. I felt they took my complaint seriously and wanted feedback, and this was appreciated. They also advised that the original person I mentioned dealing with in my review is no longer with the company.

Original review:

This review is for our move in summer 2022. Transport Regent was one of three companies involved with our move from NY to Montreal, working together with Uplift Movers and Orbit International Moving.

Overall: I would not recommend this company, however I did not have a choice (Uplift was the main company for my move and works with Regent).

Positive:
Moving guys were nice and worked hard.

Negative.
Very poor communication and a lot of mistakes / dropping the ball with no apology or recognition.

Firstly, several weeks after arriving in Montreal I received an email saying my shipment had arrived at the warehouse and I needed to clear it at the customs office. The email even stressed to try to act within 24 hours, so the following day I went to the customs office in downtown Montreal.

Customs official told me they didn't have a record of my shipment in their system, it hadn't yet been registered. I spent the entire afternoon waiting in the lobby as I tried to get in touch with one person at Regent, as it seemed only that one person Teri would be able to fix the issue.

After hours of trying, she called me back at the end of the day and said she could only correct the issue the following day. I understand that mistakes happen which is unfortunate but fine, but there was no apology or even acknowledgement that a mistake had been made, nothing. This felt unprofessional and just left a bad taste in my mouth.

The following morning, I received another email saying my shipment should now be registered. Again, no apology or acknowledgement of the mistake.

I ended up having to make two separate trips to the customs office (which was not close by), and take off work twice.

After settling that and hearing nothing back, they finally told me at 530pm that they would deliver the following day, but could only give me the exact time on that day. Again, I don’t live close by, and was told that if I didn’t accept that delivery date it would take another 1-1.5 weeks and that they would charge me storage fees. Basically had no choice and they were extremely last minute after having made mistakes.

Lastly, when the movers arrived, they had no idea there were 3 flights of stairs and no elevators (which I had made clear multiple times in writing). Teri called me after the movers showed up and said that there was an extra fee for the stairs, to which I told her I had already paid Uplift for the stair carry fee, and sent her the invoice to prove it. Poor guys, one was older and it was tough for them.

All in all, a negative experience and if I had the choice I would not work with this company again.
