Very tight room, quite dark with only 2 light bulbs to lit up the room and pricey for parking $35 per day. Can't believe that 200 rooms and the lot for parking only 30. How a business like this could run when customers don't know this fact? Then you have to find parking in another bulding which takes nearly 15 mins to walk to hotel under freezing temperature. Breakfast only a few items to eat

Very small room, no safe, no convenience for suitcases, small closet, breakfast with plastic cutlery, little variety to choose from, during the week they start removing breakfast 15 minutes earlier than estimated and vacuuming.

We enjoyed the experience of staying at this hotel. It's strategic location makes it easy for us to visit tourist attractions in Montreal, especially the Old City.

The room was clean but so small. The staffs are friendly. And the breakfast menu was good. Well, everything is pleasant.

Overall enjoyed my stay and will be booking a room here for future visits. Considering prices of other hotels in the area I think this is a good value. It's simple and yes the rooms are on the small side but this is mostly a crash pad, I was comfortable sleeping and it was quiet. All of the important stuff is clean - bathroom, towels, bed, linens, common surfaces. However the walls and furniture need a good scrub, that's the reason for -1 star. Continental breakfast is convenient and the croissants were great.

DUMP! There is no cold water, so brushing teeth is difficult but the shower is burn your skin hot. The rooms need care and updating and fixing. The bathrooms are dirty. It is very noisy and not a great place to stay. Avoid if you can.

Staff are friendly, rooms are adequately sized and clean. Perfect place on a budget, great location. Appears many reviewers have high expectations but don’t want to pay for them.

100% would stay again.

Had some renovations being done to my house and had to stay at this hotel temporarily and let me tell you, worst decision I made.

The room was filthy, stains on the bed and the washroom was disgusting.

I couldn't even stay there one night.

Trust me and go to the Four Seasons instead.

I wouldn't recommend for a long stay. The website said the bar was open late, it wasn't. Said there were food and beverage dispensers, they were empty. You can hear everything going on in front of the elevators from your room as it's very echo. If you're planning a short stay however it's okay. The service we received l however was great. Everyone was super helpful, polite and professional.

It's an incredible price for the location. I've gone here 4 times in the last 2 years. They have slightly declined over those two years. The rooms are small and slightly outdated. The bathrooms are super tiny! It's good for a weekend getaway or for a non-special trip. I will come back because the pricing is incredible but I'm not as in love with this hotel as I was 2 years ago. The breakfast during the pandemic is a let down but the location is amazing. Great price and perfect location.
05 December 2021 21:41
*Warning- Very poor service, Very very small rooms, Very deceptive pictures (don’t fool yourself), no drinking water in the room (have your own backup).
It was my first trip to Montreal and this hotel made it worst. Staff was rude and not at all cooperative. They are charging exceptionally high for the worst quality. It would say- “don’t even consider this hote as an option”.
04 December 2021 21:23
Pay a little more to get a MUCH better experience.

Room was small and barely usable, carpet could likely be dirty (needed to switch rooms), and the lighting is the harsh fluorescent type, like you're living in a lab cage. There is parking on site, but you have to pay $20+ a day and the spots are tiny. Free breakfast is free but just consists of croissants, yogurts, and fruit in plastic cups. Worst of all there was a stain on my sheets that I only discovered on the third day, tucked away in the bed.

Three pros: 1) great location 2) heating/A/C worked perfectly fine 3) the staff really did try their best despite having less resources and being understaffed.
13 November 2021 21:44
Check in was not smooth. Could not find a spot to park the car to unload. Rooms are tiny so beware. Good location though, close to China Town, old Montreal and st Catherine's.

This week-end we decided to go out with the girlfriend and her daughter. Yeah there's nothing to do, but wanted to crust between 4 different walls. We did choose the Travelodge because it was close to the old Montréal and port to do some walking and we were close of different restaurant options. We brought some wine, a dvd player and toys for the kid and we had an awesome 24h. They allowed us to do an early check-in which is always appreciated. There's an indoor parking which very pratical for our in and out. The room was a fine size and well heaten. Many reviews complain about the size of the rooms, but it's because they waste too much time in those rooms and they do not enjoy their day's out. We did not had much choice so we did appreciated that it was clean, pratical with a sofa bed and, to my great surprise, a comfy queen bed and I'm really picky about them! Their was a free cold breakfast with croissant, chocolatine, fruit salad, some yogourt with granola and coffee. All we need to start a relax sunday! Free food is always good! The service was fine and all sanitary measures did seem to be respected. Nothing to complain, we will definitely come again with the family, cannot wait to come back when everything will be open!

AVOID THIS HOTEL! One of the worst experiences l have ever had in all my travels. The rooms were old, cold and with no hot water. There was no on-site parking and "valet" service was provided to park your car at an adjacent parking garage. After a late night we went to park straight into the parking garage and almost had a fight with the attendant because he only wanted someone from the hotel to bring the car in, not the resident (no tip) Terrible treatment! I would not recommend this hotel to anyone.

I called the hotel ahead to see if they have an ev charger and i was told that there is one in the garage downstairs. When i arrived at the hotel at 8: 00 pm i was told there wasn't any more room in the garage for my vevhicle. That complicated a lot of things for me as i came from Toronto and i only had 7% of the battery left. To make things even worse the next morning ive recived the spot in the garage and guess what? No F.charger. When asked what was going on one of the employees point out the recepticle in the wall by tha handicapped space and told me to use that.
We are in late 2020 this is a must in hotels these days especially in cchains like that.

The worst hotel i have ever been too in my life, it dosen't even deserve 1 star.
The bed sheets were very dirty there was BLOOD & HAIR on the sheets

Me and my family had to sleep on our towels that we brought from home with us.

And the breakfast was not on time at all
I suppose to receive my breakfast at 8am
It was not ready till 11am.
I don't recommend to waste your money on that hotel

Petit. Mais très propre. (1 lit Queen)
26 September 2020 18:02
The worst hotel 4* I have ever seen. The rooms are very tiny. The location is great but rooms may be adequate for young kids. You are better off sleeping in your vehicle.
08 February 2019 21:20
Positive: Location! Close to Old Montréal and metro, breakfast is ok even though there’s only one type of cheese, no meat, just cold boiled egg. Friendly staff.
Negative: small bedroom and bathroom, parking places are limited but you can park at the shopping just in front of the hotel.
29 January 2019 6:38
It was a decent place. Tiny yet clean room. Most of the staff were pleasant and helpful. And a nice seleftion of fruit, boiled eggs, bread with peanut butter and jams and cold cereals for breakfast. Small gym was just fine for weekend getaway. I would come again.
25 January 2019 20:19
Staff is very friendly, beds and pillows are great, continental breakfast plain but great croissants. We reserved 3 double rooms.all were very small, small bathrooms, insufficient lighting in rooms. Ok for an overnight.
21 January 2019 2:48
Our stay at the hotel was very comfortable. Our room (3 single beds) was smaller than we'd though, but very cozy. The wifi is fast and reliable for streaming and the breakfast is delicious. Would recommend if you're exploring Montreal around Old Port.
20 January 2019 8:32
Shower was clogged so I had to shower with my feet in dirty water. Concierge gave us a complementary breakfast, but the next day I still had to shower in dirty water.
20 January 2019 7:28
18 January 2019 13:43
Located near Old Montreal, Travelodge provides really good options for visitors looking for a place to stay and well within walking distance of the tourist attractions. The room we booked had a great view overlooking downtown, and was in excellent condition. In addition, the staff were very polite and even took the time to call us when we got into our room to make sure everything was okay. Our stay included breakfast which was simple but very good quality. Parking is underground, but quite limited with approximately 20 spaces. Luckily for us we went during a less busier time so it worked okay for us.
07 January 2019 8:08
I was quite impressed with how nice this hotel actually is. The quadruple rooms are very hostel-like. The hotel is modern and has a lot of windows. The breakfast is varied and filling. I would stay here again when I am in Montreal.

Rated my visit a week ago, just getting back to write the review.

The hotel staff was great, polite and helpful. Cleaning staff was great too.

There is a free continental breakfast. You need to check in on the way in to tell them your room number, I assume to filter out any scammers or freeloaders. Anyway the croissants were amazing. Good strong coffee.

The room was directly off a large elevator lobby but I didn't notice any noise while I was in the room. A bit on the small size but still plenty of space. Pretty nice little fridge, which was a pleasant surprise. Room was clean, bathroom was clean so a big plus for that.

The door to the adjoining room was not locked and I had to fight it to get it locked as the bolt didn't line up correctly.

The desk is set up with a little power distribution station with two AC outlets and 3 or 4 USB ports. Unfortunately, with the fridge, lamps, clock, phone, plus these outlets all on the one side of the room, there were no available wall outlets. The only one was on the wall under the TV, across from the bed. So I had some electronics sitting on the floor, no big deal.

For those that are interested, there was a dryer in the bathroom.

About the bathroom.the handle was missing from the shower, so I had to wrestle with the water/temp knob without it. Fine when it's dry but once it's wet (like, say, when you're taking a shower) it's a pain to adjust. Fortunately the water stayed at a consistent temperature and pressure. Everything else in the bathroom was fine.

Climate control was fine too. I used the heater on low and it kept the room nice and cosy.

The closet was small and may not handle longer coats. Fortunately there was also a coat hook mounted on the opposite wall.

Finally.location. This hotel is right downtown, on the edge of Chinatown (the gate is next door). It's only blocks from practically everything. And close by there are two ways to enter the underground; from the Passport office a block west or Complexe Desjardins across the street.

Price was good. I prepaid so I can't tell you about checkout.

The hotel is near Chinatown and close to Palais des Congres, Notre Dame (and perhaps you other places since I am still exploring). I am staying at the hotel due to a conference that is taking place at Palais des Congres. The hotel has WiFi and it is clean. Also as a big plus I consider the fact that KanBai (a Chinese restaurant) is literally right around the corner with solid Chinese food.

When I booked online I thought I was booking a certain room as I went by the pictures provided, when I saw the actual room it was extremely smaller than what I was expecting. Not much room to move around in although it was clean. The TV was small and didn't work. The continental breakfast wasn't that great, had choices of cereals, fruit, bread, croissants (they were amazing actually!) processed cheese and boiled eggs. If you wanted anything meat related you had to pay separately for it. If you are looking for a place to stay as an overnight guest just to sleep in it's not that bad. But honestly the next time I visit I will most likely book elsewhere.

The good location is the only good thing about this hotel. We stayed in room 804 which was super close to the elevators, and we literally could hear every single step out there, and could hear the elevators all the time. We had a very bad night sleep because of the noises of people talking in the hallway (which was not their fault). Very very poor sound insulation, if there's any from the first place. We could also hear every single word being said in the adjacent room. Again, woke up at 6: 30 am because apparently the guests in the other room were chatting. The breakfast is so poor, and unappetizing and the only savoury option was hard boiled eggs (which did not taste good at all). It's basically cereals, cantaloupes and pineapples, peanut butter, jam, chocolate croissants, coffee and juice. The room was super small too. I expect a bit more for 250 CAD for a double bed room per night. Disappointed.

Do not stay here if you are over 25 or 5 foot.
The lobby and the hotel staff were lovely but that’s about as far as the compliments will go for this hotel. We initially booked for three nights for three adults which cost a total of $900. What I didn’t realise was that that gave me something I can only compare to staying in something that resembled a refugee camp or the cheapest ticket you could get on a cruise ship down in the boiler room.

These rooms are tiny, I am surprised it is even legal to rent a room that size, and asking for the amount of money they are is unethical at the least. There is absolutely no possible way, four people of any size, could stay in a room and do anything but sit and not move. What adds salt to the wound is that the hallways to each hotel are vast and spacious- for no apparent reason.

In the shoebox room there were four “beds” (two bunk beds) - if you could call them that. They were so tiny our feet hung off the end. What is surprising is that even though the beds were made for little people, they still couldn’t seem to find sheets that covered the whole mattress. The mattresses were so hard I think it probably would have been more comfortable sleeping on the floor and if the floor wasn’t so dirty I might have considered it. We were provided with one pillow each and one of them felt like it was a pillowcase sewed up with old rags in it.

The towels were also made for small people, and the water pressure was non-existent. I probably could have gotten a better shower from my grandmother blowing water through a straw.

It honestly was so bad that we cut our stay short and left after the first night. The only reason I am giving them one star is because I have to and because their hotel staff were so lovely and understanding and it’s also impossible to give a negative star review.
