J'ai appris avec une certaine déception la position de l'UdeM dans le Classement de Shanghai 2023. Voir notre université chuter dans un tel classement, même si on sait qu'il ne reflète pas tout, fait mal.

Cela remet en perspective l'importance de toujours chercher à s'améliorer et de ne jamais tenir pour acquis notre excellence. J'espère sincèrement que nous, en tant que communauté, saurons tirer des leçons de cet échec et travailler ensemble pour rehausser le prestige et la qualité de notre alma mater.

Administration pourrie. Aucun acompagnement, aucune aide. J'ai eu l'impression d'être un numéro et que tout ce qui les intéressaient, c'était mon argent. J'ai terminé un baccalauréat et j'ai honte d'avoir le nom de cette université sur mon CV. Au moins, le personnel enseignant était compétent et agréable à côtoyer. Épargnez-vous des soucis et allez à l'Université de Sherbrooke à la place, ils vont vous accueillir comme des membres de la famille.

I obtained my master's degree here and while the courses themselves were moderately interesting and the professors mostly approachable, the admin was a nightmare from A to Z. They do not answer emails in a timely manner and do not respond to phone calls whatsoever. I had such a hard time even getting info on admissions because nobody was answering emails. I only found out the week before classes started which courses I had to register for! Coming from another university, I was shocked by the lack of organization and communication. I was also charged $2,000 for a week-long summer course. Absolute robbery. Admin also forced me to stay on an extra semester to simply submit my final internship report so they ended up charging me an entire semester's tuition. Not to mention, I was told I had to enroll in and pass three pre-requisite intro-level courses before being admitted to the master's program because according to admin, I did not have enough credits from my Bachelor's degree. What a waste of time & money! It's funny how someone I knew did the SAME bachelor's program at the SAME university as me, and was automatically admitted to UdeM's masters program.

Great university especially for research, science and medicine.

Most students are bilingual even if it’s mainly a French university. Classes often allow manuals in English and even writing your answers in English on the exam if the manual was in English. 10/10

Huge campuses. A lot of students. Sometimes too much. 9/10

Quality of the professors vary from brilliant minds to poor but 70% are decent and the classes are well organized to cover the necessary material in the specified time frame. 8/10

Difficulty varies per program/professor/course/natural talent but it varies a lot. Highest class averages can be as high as in the top 80% while the lowest can be as low as low 20% so exam difficulties vary from very very easy to very very hard which often results in grade standardized adjustments. 7/10

Great location. 9/10

Outstanding design, student atmosphere and incredibly beautiful outside areas. 9/10

Multiple cafeterias and close to Côte-des-Neiges street. 9/10

A dozen of libraries. Human sciences library is a whole building in itself. 10/10

The administration could be more organized. 5/10

Summer session often has very bad teachers that should not teach…to anyone. 3/10

Very focused on research and one of the biggest research universities in Canada. 9/10

Overall grade, 8/10. Great experience and great place to get a higher education especially if you are looking for graduate degrees (Master’s, PhD) with some downsides but what university is absent of them?

Belle université, mais il faut étudier fort pour réussir (baccalauréat en sciences pures). Par mon expérience, le niveau en sciences est beaucoup plus haut qu'à Concordia.

Although I haven't been to the school before but I have read people's reviews on the school and all was of good so it is definitely a school to go to

Bonjour je m'appelle Astou et j'ai 16 ans je veux venir en Canada pour l'université de Montréal

J'ai eu deux formations à l'udm (bac et certificats) et deux formations à l'uds. Je recommande, et de loin, l'uds pour la qualité de l'enseignement qui y est offert. Bien que j'aie terminé avec mention mes deux formations de l'udm. Les évaluations à l'udm n'évaluent nullement les compétences mais bien la capacité à retenir par coeur le contenu théorique en insérant des questions pièges qui évaluent non pas ta compétence dans ton programme mais ta capacité de compréhension de la langue française. La majorité des enseignants nomment ouvertement devoir répondre à la norme, "courbe", de la cote r exigé par l'établissement. J'ai en des questions d'examen où l'enseignant tentait de piéger les étudiants par la tournure des phrases et où c'est l'enseignant au final qui se trompait et devait redonner les points alors que j'étais dans un programme d'intervention et non d'enseignement de la langue française. Comparativement à l'uds qui évaluent vraiment les compétences et non la capacité de compréhension de la langue française qui n'a rien à voir avec le programme d'études.

Excellent campus, although the snow removal could be better between some wings and the library. As well, some profs there are jesters. On a positive note, I especially enjoyed the canopy connecting some buildings in the winter.
