Avis Car Rental

Very disappointed with the customer service. Agent tried to charge me an extra $100 over the quoted price online because I was 24 minutes early. Then after returning the vehicle I was charged an extra $200 with no final receipt sent. Been trying to get a hold of someone to send me a receipt so I can see what they are charging me for, but haven’t been able to get anyone on the phone yet. Would not recommend, they seem like they are trying to screw you out of money some way or another over the actual cost.

Worst experience ever renting a car. Booked here because this is the only place supposedly open till 1am. Flight landed at 12: 30am I went directly to the Avis counter and the lights were out and nobody around. I phoned the number on the site with nobody answering. Had to pay for a cab then hotel room. In the morning I was told I was going to get a car for a discounted rate to make up for my hotel fee. I had to pre authorize 840 dollars being told that 750 would be put back on my card. This didn’t happen and I was charged 612. I then phoned them only to be told there is nothing they can do. I should have expected that I guess. There not even at work at 12: 40am when the site says open till 1am. Never booking here again

There was almost 30 mins delay when I made an appointment, but the car they gave me was in a great condition! Also, they don't do direct billing.

My experience with this car rental based on several interactions: cars are usually in unsatisfactory condition; customer service, specifically phone calls, is poor; they charge your credit card more than the total on your contract with no explanation, even if they admit their error, you never get the refund. It is not recommended at all.

I recently reserved an Avis rental car online from the Regina airport location. When I got to the counter, I was shocked that the man at the counter asked me for a credit card so they could put a hold on $750 to protect the car. When making the reservation online, there were only reminders about bringing the proper IDs, nothing about a credit card.

This could be a huge complication for someone who didn’t happen to bring a credit card with a big enough credit limit. Avis should tell people in advance.

Furthermore, when picking up the car, I was pushed to sign the paperwork before I could check the car. The service clerk didn’t check the car with me even though I had asked. This was unfair and was not professional. Hopefully, they can improve their service.

We rented an SUV for our travels to Swift Current and back to Regina, SK. The vehicle assigned to us had major vibrations, especially on the highway. We figure there was something wrong with the tire (s). We returned the vehicle, and its replacement was a smooth riding Ford escape SUV. No complaints with this one! The clerk at the desk was pleasant and organized. I will give the business the benefit of the doubt and try them again on my next trip.

Landed at 1130, had a car booked and paid for for 12 and they had no cars even though I had already paid. Will never use avis again

I chose this location because they were open the earliest. My flight had been cancelled and I needed a way home. The employee was late, which did not make my experience a good one.
