Building Brains Early Learning Centre

Our son has attended Building Brains for over a year now and we all absolutely love it. The infant room was a great transition to daycare for us all with the extra attention, and the junior preschool is great, too. We feel great knowing he is surrounded by friends and qualified caretakers all day, doing a wide variety of activities to aid in his development. All of the teachers and administration at the local campus have been wonderful, and the PAC seem to be doing a wonderful job as well (including the fantastic Christmas concert that was just organized). The only thing I would say there is room for improvement in is the communication from the administrative team in Calgary, but it's definitely not enough to make us not feel lucky that we have found such a great place to send our son in his infant and toddler years.

We have been with Building Brains now for about 2 years and 4 month. Our child has just moved into their preschool program and we cannot express our gratitude and appreciation for the staff and their care!
Building Brains is truly a family center where we get to know the staff, make new friendships and watch our little ones develop and flourish.
I also need to add that the Director Ms. Kate is absolutely amazing managing this place. She is always available and so approachable for a quick question or developmental/transitional support.
Thank you BB for all the care and love! Now into Preschool!

I wanted to provide an update as these reviews are so important for parents making decision about their children.
We have been with Building Brains for 7 months now. The educators are absolutely wonderful and the transition from the infant to the junior group has been very heartwarming. All the staff were genuinely invested in our child adjustment.
She is learning so much! The educators keep the children busy with various activities and create the spaces to keep them engaged by providing learning and playing opportunities.
The mobile app and pictures they provide are also wonderful and helps us as parents feel more engaged and aware of the children daily activities, feeding and changing schedule.

The food is also delicious and nutritious! They have weekly rotating menu that considers the children needs through their most crucial development stage.

Highly recommended!

We have been attending Building brains for 2 weeks now and we can't say enough of how grateful we are for the care our little one receives. They have helped us with the transition, answered any questions or concerns and made this new experience very easy for us and our child. The menu is nutritious and delicious! They challenge and support our child to learn new activities, lots of play time, singing, dancing and caring for their friends! Couldn't be happier with the center and staff!

I have had my son in this centre for only a couple of weeks, but I already see the difference in him since starting. He is already saying more words, learning mannerisms, learning how to play with more structure and focus. The teachers at this centre are very kind and understanding. They really do go above and beyond at this centre. I do not like calling it a "daycare" because it is so much more than that. I really do believe the care that is provided at this centre is above any beyond anywhere else in Saskatoon. I highly recommend this place!:)

Great structure and discipline. If your child has any dietary needs, excellent. Great protocols in place for all the phases of children.

We’ve been lucky enough to have been apart of the Building Brains family for almost 4 years. Both my children have moved from the infant classroom through the junior classroom, with my youngest son starting on the senior side this fall with his sister. Building Brains has played a major role in my children’s continued growth and development over the years. Although my kids call it ‘daycare’, it is so much more than that. It’s a safe and fun space for them to build relationships, develop an inquisitive mind and prepare for their grade school years. This facility has been a blessing for our family and I can’t say enough about Mrs. Kate and the entire building brains staff.

Building Brains Center in Saskatoon is really special for our family. From our very first visit to take a look at the campus, to enrolling our daughter, to getting her accustomed to the environment and to getting her to love going to school, they have done and are continuing to do an outstanding job! Miss Kate and her teachers are so welcoming. They are so flexible and go out of their way in making the children feel comfortable with their routines. They always keep us parents updated on our child's day at the campus, and they give quarterly reports and updates on how well our child is progressing. They are extremely professional, but with tons of love to our kids. After sending my daughter to 2 private daycares, which lasted for very short term, we found Building Brains and have never rethought our decision. They turned our silent daughter into a chatty girl and we are so happy! We are so glad to have found this establishment that nurtures children, recognizes their natural abilities and develops them into a wholesome individual. Building Brains is definitely the best Junior Preschool and Preschool campus for kids in Saskatoon. I'm forever thankful to her teachers for their kindness and love to my daughter. We will recommend this Center to every parent. You can never go wrong with this choice.

Our experience with Building Brains has been incredible! We feel so grateful and secure taking our son to the Centre every day where he is not only safe and educated but also loved. Any challenge our child has faced we’ve felt embraced and supported by staff who are understanding and will have a lasting impact on our family. Additionally having the app available ensures we are able to maintain routines or become aware of and notified of changes.

I have been trying to get ahold of Building Brains since November 2022. I booked an in person tour but had to cancel because something came up at work. I spoke to someone to let them know that I would be rescheduling a virtual tour, but would do so online. Then, for WEEKS I received emails about how I missed my appointment (which I didn't - I let them know I couldn't make it). Eventually I booked a virtual tour for the beginning of Dec, 2022 for 9: 00 a.m. I received 0 instructions about how to log on. Finally, at 9: 15 someone called me to ask preliminary questions (after the appointment was supposed to start!). By that time I had given up and returned to work. Again, received emails about how I missed my appointment. I tried to call, no answer so I left a message. Never received a call back. Repeated that next week. Still no answer. Sent an email - no response. So finally near the end of Dec, I start receiving appointment reminders for my virtual tour dated at the beginning of the month. Tried to call again. Nothing. Finally, I sent an email to the registration email basically detailing what I have in this review. No response. I then received a TEXT on how wonderful it was to meet me and how they can't wait to care for my child. Like hell am I trusting people who can't even get their ducks in a row to respond to a simple email or phone message with my child!

Our daughter just transitioned from Junior Preschool to Preschool. We are so grateful to Kate and the Junior Preschool team for the care and attention they have given to our daughter. She has grown so much, in so many ways, while at Building Brains, including her level of confidence and independence. We are so thankful to the staff.

Working as a Lead Teacher at Building Brains has helped me grow not only as an educator but also as a team player. The staff are friendly and always provide support when needed.

We enrolled our son as a 1 year old in the infant program and I cannot speak highly enough about our experience at Building Brains. Our son loves going every day and in only a few short months we saw major growth him and it's amazing to see what new things he learns in the care of Miss Michelle and her class. Their hours are wonderful and very accommodating, the staff have all been wonderful with him and you can see the bond they've developed, the food is top notch and always a great variety, and the center itself is wonderfully laid out with lots of activities for the kids. We're relocating to a new city and will miss BBs and the family that Miss Kate has built - thank you for letting us be a part of it and I do believe our experience will be hard to replicate!

Only good things to say about this daycare. Our daughter started in the infant room and graduated up to the junior preschool before we sadly moved cities and had to leave Building Brains. With two busy working parents, it was such a relief knowing there was a safe, fun place to leave her everyday.in addition, we constantly noticed new skills that our daughter developed and know BB played a huge role in nurturing these. The teachers are friendly, responsive, and knowledgeable. Miss Kate was so warm and welcoming to our daughter as well.we would even joke that she loved it there more than at home as she would run in each day and barely even look back at us! Thanks so much to the whole BB team for the experience at your school, we were truly so, so sad to leave.

Building Brains is a truly incredible learning centre! Miss Kate and all of the wonderful educators in Junior Preschool are welcoming, kind and genuinely happy to be at work.:) They are passionate about what they do; their love for their work is most evident in seeing the big smiles and excitement on our son's face when we pick him up every day.:)

Other daycares are good, but BB is truly great. We are grateful!

Building Brains is incredible! My daughter comes home every day happy. The staff are wonderful, the food served is healthy and balanced, and I am always very impressed with the curriculum. It is a great environment for learning. I would highly recommend Building Brains for early childhood education.

They are terrible communicators on the administrative side. We have been charged erroneously for fees accidentally and we’ve been waiting over 5 months for a refund cheque. After multiple attempts at requesting an update on our refund cheque, they have ignored us and left us hanging.

Our daughter has attended building brains for almost three years. She has learned so much and made some great friendships. Her teachers have cared for her and always were willing to learn about her health needs and adapt to meet them.

Both of our girls love going to school and their teachers. Our oldest daughter (3 years old) often tells us “my teacher loves me” and that means the world to me! The communication from teachers and Directors with us has been timely and fabulous! They are attentive to the girls’ needs and ensure we are engaged in their progress. We feel the girls are in good hands. Additionally, we have seen the girls develop multiple skills since attending school in ways that have exceeded our expectations! The classrooms in the preschool area could use some additional cleaning from environmental services, however the teachers always keep them tidy.

The staff at Building Brains have been fantastic helping our son transition from home to the Infant program and now to Junior Preschool. There has always been great communication and they have been really wonderful to work with.

Great daycare facility! Highly recommended! My husband and I are very pleased to see the level of care and attention our daughter has been receiving so far from the staff of the Infant classroom. Greatly appreciate the daily Circle Time clips. We are looking forward to see her grow and advance further from her learning journey in the Junior Preschool classrooms.

My son has been at Building Brains since 2019. He has attended both the Jr. And Sr. Side and we have nothing but amazing things to say about both programs! The staff are kind and respectful of both the children and parents. The app allows for you to check throughout the day on activities and meals with real time updates and photos about your child’s day. The structure and consistency BB offers has been great for our son. We are specifically drawn to the three room structure they offer (left brain, right brain and movement) it is truly unique allowing for kids to learn different techniques from each learning platform

Building Brains is undoubtedly the best daycare in Saskatoon. We would say it's more like a preschool than a daycare as we have seen our daughter grow and changed almost every day in the past 6 months. The teachers of the Infant Room take amazing care of the Infants, and they are really helpful, friendly, knowledgeable and professional. Our daughter misses her teachers when at home. The parent teacher meetings are informative, the food is amazing, the daily activities are awesome and Circle Time is a bonus which makes our day to see the Infants learn & perform live every morning.

We would like to thank Kate and the Infant Classroom teachers for taking such good care of our Daughter.

My son started off in the Infant room when he was 1 year old and now he is almost 2.5 years old and in Jr Preschool at Building Brains.
I cannot say enough great things. It's so nice dropping him off and knowing he is with people who genuinely care for him and knowing he is happy to be where he is, while I am away from him.
It's amazing getting updates throughout the day on his activities, meals and naps, it's always so fun to see picture updates with them having so much fun and doing so many activities.
My son will be going to Senior Preschool here for sure!

Our daughter is currently in the Junior classroom, and has been at Building Brains since she was one. Our son started when he turned one and is currently in the infant classroom. We absolutely love the staff and how they interact with our children! They both come home having learnt new skills, ideas, or creative ways to do things and they always credit it to the teachers. For example, my daughter often comes home after daycare and sets up all her dolls and pretends to be the teacher, she will hand out allergy cards, host a teddy bear picnic, put them down for naps, etc. Our son is learning to communicate with sign language and that's all taught by his teachers in the infant room. My daughter often tells me the best way to do things by letting me know that "Ms. Kara, Amninder, Veerinder, Lubna or Mahek" does it this way:) She truly loves her teachers!

Wonderful wonderful staff, curriculum and experiences they create for the kids (even little ones like my son), and they make me feel so comfortable in leaving my little guy in their caring capable attention-to-extra detail hands. You can tell they really care about the kids in their care. I got my doctorate in developmental psychology focusing on childhood and even conducted child care quality research for almost a decade - and this is the best child care place I've seen anywhere I've lived - makes me feel SO grateful they are here in Saskatoon! I had to go back to work when my little guy was just 7 months old and they have made the transition easy and comforting and they still keep exceeding my expectations, which are already really high! It's wonderful too when parents I meet during drop off and pick up mention how happy they are with Building Brains after being there so long with them. And don't get me started on the wonderful app they use - you get updates so you know when you're child is napping, what and how much they just ate for snack, etc.let alone photos of activities or crafts he got to do that day - such a comfort for a first time mom like me. Just all around, can't say enough about this place:)

UPDATE: The staff in the Infant Room continue to exceed expectations in every way! The current staff Jerily, Michelle, Prikita, Mandeep, who I like to refer to as the Dream Team, have such a true calling for infant care - which helped this anxious mommy feel so much better about having to start her son so early at 7 months! I am still to this day as our son turns 1 so impressed with their care, passion, utilization of their knowledge and experience with children and in the area of child development - as well as how much joy they take in watching my son grow too! The smiles on their faces when they share cute stories from the day or the surprise cheer they gave when I announced he was finally crawling during drop off caught me off gaurd in the best possible way ever when they all literally cheered for him <3 You guys are truly the best & we feel we so completely lucked out to have the Dream Team taking care of our precious son <3

My daughter loves it here! The staff are very supportive to the needs of each individual child and seem to genuinely care about all of them.

We absolutely LOVE this daycare. They have such a wonderful variety of activities week by week that keep my son not only entertained, but engaged and constantly learning. I see changes every day; he thrives in such a supportive environment. The staff and the absolute best you could ask for. VERY highly recommended!

Building Brains has been great and both of our daughters love it! The kitchen is great and they make the kids a good variety of healthy food. The staff have been great and Miss Kate and Miss Carmen are fantastic! We've also been happy with the curriculum and it's been amazing to watch the kids learn and grow!

Building Brains is an awesome facility! My Daughter has been going there for just over half a year and we have nothing but positive things to say about everyone on the Jr. Preschool side.

My daughter has 4+ allergies and they are incredibly accommodating in the kitchen and even made her, her very own gluten free play-dough. Each morning Miss Kate greets every student by name and welcomes everyone in, at their comfort level.

We practice gentle parenting and building brains does amazing job encouraging and allowing us to share our goals for our daughter.

The parent teacher interviews are amazing; the food, outside learning and staff are all such great parts of this facility

We've been taking my son to Building Brains (BB) for the past seven months, beginning in the infant room and currently in Jr. Preschool and I couldn't be happier with how my son has developed, how social he is and how confident he is in trying to communicate with us. BB offers an excellent environment for learning with great activities that teach and help develop our son's skills.

The teachers are very warm and kind. They offer feedback each day and they are very receptive to any questions or concerns we as parents may have. BB has a quality meal plan as well, with breakfast, lunch and snacks each day. BB also offers an app where parents are updated about meals, diaper changes, and nap/quiet times. This is really helpful to keep us informed about what he's up to all day. Teachers also post photos of the kids' activities during the day and it's wonderful to see our little guy and what he's up to.

BB staff are very welcoming to any questions and go the extra mile to accommodate our needs and the needs of our child which really help my wife and I feel confident dropping him off. I would recommend Building Brains to all of my friends and family. It's a great centre and I will keep my son there until he goes to school and I will be sending my infant daughter there when within the next year.

Kate and her staff have been incredible. Our kids have been at BB for the past 1.5 years and it’s heartwarming to see them smiling from ear to ear at the end of the day. Our kids have since moved to the senior preschool side but our kids and we miss the staff on the junior preschool side. Our kids grew quite attached to Miss Brandie, Kara, and Amininder. It’s endearing to see our kids running to them and giving them hugs. Thank you!

We found Building Brains while in a bit of a panic as our initial daycare choice was not a good fit. As first time parents, and for me as a breastfeeding mom, it was important to find a place that supported that goal. We started here at 9 months and have been very happy with our decision. Our child has always been happy to skip to Ms Kate's desk on her way into the junior preschool, this after months of ignoring her when she was in the infant class. There're always smiles on the teacher's faces and you can see the genuine love they have for the kids. Concerns are always addressed and feedback continually sought and acted upon.
COVID was hard on everyone, yet the staff went above and beyond to keep themselves and the kiddos well.
The hours of operation are super convenient- I don't think I know of any other center or day home that is open from 7am to 6pm.

I can not say enough great things or recommend Building brains enough to anyone who wishes to listen. Thank you for everything you do for our kiddos. Has made a world of difference for our family.

This was the first time our daughter was going to be in someone else’s care. Me and my husband were super anxious. I still remember her first day at the building brains junior preschool during pre-COVID times. To ease my anxiety the Kate (jr.preschool director) let us drop my daughter to her classroom and spend sometime in the class observing her. My daughter cried quite a bit during drop offs initially but always came out happy at pick up’s. Kate and the staff truly supported us. They not only assured us, sent regular updates through the day (prior to the app launch) but also shared helpful tips to help us with the transition. Over time we got to connect with the teachers and I felt so relaxed knowing my child was in good hands. The parent teacher meetings provided another great opportunity to connect with teachers and get a detailed update on your child. I always looked forward to weekly updates from Kate. She was always there at drop offs with her beautiful smile and welcoming personality. She does an excellent job in running the Junior Preschool.

The curriculum seemed appropriate for the age group and had a variety of activities. My daughter learnt so much! We loved the on-site kitchen and my daughter loved the nutritious meals made by the chefs. Getting daily updates and pictures on the app is so helpful for parents. The school adapted so quickly during covid and put in place appropriate protocols. I felt safe sending my daughter to school during these times. The staff is genuinely interested in your child and takes the time to connect with them. Loved the Junior Preschool staff. They are quick to respond to questions or concerns and are willing to work with you to meet needs. We are now transitioning to preschool and my daughter already misses her Junior preschool teachers. We are positive she will have a great learning experience in preschool as well.

BB is an awesome, professional, supportive and warm place to be. We feel our son is receiving quality care, nutrition and programming that supports his development. Teachers are engaged and responsive to kids' learning and communicate openly about daily activities with pictures and notes.

I did a lot of researches of the daycares in Saskatoon and I have to say that building brians is one of the best. My 2 year old has been with building brians for almost 3 months and I am extremely happy with the experience here. Staffs are very supportive and welcoming, and a picture of your kid will be uploaded to an internal app on a daily basis - this picture will make your day. All the activities are designed with strong academic background support, and kids will learn and do something different here than at home. What's more, my son is not very good at eating by himself, but after learning and practicing at school, he starts to eat by himself at home (within 2 months of attending school). Appreciated the hard work and care from all the teachers!

The staff at Building Brains Early Learning Centre are incredibly professional and hardworking. Our daughter loves her time there and looks forward to seeing all of the staff and children daily! The educators keep the children busy with a variety of activity each week and the app is wonderful. As my son has uncommon allergies I was initially concerned about how meals would be handled and what his medical plan would be. Their dedication to ongoing learning and familiarity with his situation made me feel very confident in sending him here.

Building Brains is an absolutely amazing daycare. The food they serve is unreal. The educators are wonderful to communicate with. My daughter loves attending. She is always willing and prepared to go every morning with a simple "okay it's time to go to school and eat breakfast. " I love being able to see updates and photos from throughout the day on the 1Core app. And check in's with their teachers is such a treat. Love hearing how my daughter is developing.

My experience with building brains has been great so far. My sons have improved in their skills, learning and creativity due to the various activities they are exposed to. I recently had an eye-opening experience in my one on one meeting with my son's teachers to get clarity on his report. I love that they knew my son to a 'T' and that made me feel that both of my sons are well taken care of. This is not to say all us perfect, like any other institution there are a few areas I think could be improved on but overall, I am a satisfied parent. Thank you building brains.
