I've been to many Cabela's and Bass Pro in Canada (BC, AB, SK, ON & Maritimes). I am unsure why this location however has the worst service staff out if all them.

Perhaps the (6-7) visits I made there recently were just unlucky. The stock is about what you would expect (many shortages though probably due to the current conditions) from Cabela's.

The archery department had one younger staff member who was very helpful in helping me select arrows, installing a nock anchor point, cutting my arrows to my draw length after installing inserts and nock (he did forget the field points I picked out, but I didn't get charged for them at least and had spares luckily *sigh). He earned the extra star or else 1 star rating.

The next time I went and bought more arrows the older staff member seemed knowledgeable. However, he incorrectly installed & glued the nocks in my arrows (supposed to be aligned with the odd one marked for top placement) I had to reinstall all the nocks and realign them. I broke two (2) nocks redoing his work thankfully I had spares.

I purchased a fishing rod & reel combo on sale from a very knowledgeable younger staff member however after getting home and ready to put the line on I realized he sold me a left handed reel. OMG he should have asked me that's kind of important.luckily I'm ambidextrous so didn't bother driving across town for the return.

Most importantly the (5-6) visits I wanted to purchase the following items: lever/bolt action hunting rifle in 308, pistol in 22lr, ammo 308/223/22lr/9mm/12g.cleaning supplies, scope, mounts & sling. I was either ignored completely, dismissed or received snarky discriminate comments from the staff (several older gentlemen and one younger gentleman with glasses) when I asked very politely for assistance and had taken a number (stood for over an 1 1/2 hrs at the counter with my intended purchases as they walked by me or sat on the phone calling competitors businesses to help their friends search & get parts).

I was fuming mad as they assisted people who just were walking by! Needless to say I brought the (2) scopes, bases, rings and SOME ammo from them but not the firearms (I bought over $4k this month alone from their competitors instead as I was extremely disappointed with this locations' service, their loss not mine as I thought I was the customer right?)

Also, I got watched like a criminal standing at the counter as I was waiting for help (I was reading ammo box specs or looking at stuff behind me as I WAITED), when I did ask to see a firearm the staff sighed or acted like I couldn't afford it or it was a waste of their time.btw I bought a new Ruger 22/45 Mark 4, Browning S/S BLR Lightweight & lots of ammo, 3 pistol holsters, 6 mag holsters, ammo loader, rifle cleaning tray & set, 4 bore snakes, tons of Hoppes product and a competitive belt from their competitors in that very one week as I was extremely mad at this location!

Also the customer service department where I redirected to do a price match from Canadian Tire which was about $5 a box cheaper.the young man claimed he had to call all the Canadian Tire locations to ensure they had stock (25 mins wasted). Finally a lady he worked with informed him that anything $5 or less that he was supposed to just price match as they didn't want to lose business or a sale over a $5 or less difference in price if it was verified (grrrr). I did get the price match but the sun was going down and my day at the range was ruined. The young man simply glared at me and shoved the bag and receipt at me like it was my fault. Rude much? !

Every time I think about going to this Cabela's I cringe/flinch from PTSD (joke.but not really) as I have never been treated so poorly. Now I shop online, Canadian Tire, Extreme Oufitters or elsewhere and anywhere unless I'm forced to go to this location if I need something immediately.

For reference I just moved from AB to SK and was expecting incredible service from the smaller city locations but I am very disappointed.

Hunting staff knowledgeable. Fishing staff is hit and miss. Know what you want before you get there.

From my experience:
-Staff in the fishing section are knowledgeable on locations of things.
-Clean store, smells good, could spend hours in here.
-Firearm section is slowly diminishing, there are better stores for firearms in Saskatoon.
-Carless about the ammunition stock (even Canadian tire is better).
-Clothes section is half the store (thanks J.morris, not*)
-When an ice shack I purchased went on sale the next weekend they refunded the difference, so I can respect that.

Why is it the the guys at the gun counter are so not-engaging. Not exactly all that interested in helping. Certainly dropped enough money here over the years. Not expecting back flips but a "can I help you" would be nice. That said, other departments seem friendly enough. And where are the mirrors in the clothes department!

Friendly and efficient staff, we received our hunting licenses with ease. Love the smell of the store as well! Fresh fudge!

What is there to say.they got everything! Seems like the fishing department could use a boost tho. I know when I go into other smaller fishing shops they talk about what's hitting and what lakes are hot.

Always love it here and the selection is top notch. Wish they had a loyalty or points card for the amount I spend in there lol

Love Cabela's! Every time I go in there it is like Christmas! The staff are friendly and helpful. So thankful to have a Cabela's in Saskatchewan!

I purchased several items and the checkout clerk missed the jacket I had placed on the checkout desk. At my vehicle I realized missed charging me for the jacket. I returned immediately to the same clerk with the jacket and td hi.he missed it. I payed for it and nor even a Thank-you for coming and back and paying. I guess Cabela's doesn't mind theft. More disappointed in the young clerk.

Everyone here is super friendly and helpful. We went in a few days ago to get our pet’s picture taken with Santa and the elves were beyond amazing. We were very appreciative of the complimentary photo! The Santa, however, was practically asleep in his chair. No greeting, no laughing— nothing. Would not recommend for those with children: (

Went to buy a hunting license had the boy tell me 4 times i couldnt get one unless my health card and drivers license matched up. My health card has like 3 renewal stickers so i get tt but with a drivers license i should be been good. So i went out to get my phone to call and change it then all of a sudden his supervisor says we can get one but next year it needs to be changed if i buy there. This was always their policy except i got the guy who acted like he knew it all while knowing nothing. Having attitude with it left a bad taste in my mouth. I personally will not go back as they have overly priced stuff and poor customer service in my experience.

My recent experience at the Saskatoon Cabela’s was very disappointing. The first clerk was very helpful. I showed him what I was looking for in the flyer and he took me to the gun department where there were three clerks. None of the three clerks were interested in helping me even though I was the only customer in the department. I showed them what I was looking for and the clerk immediately told me it was not in stock. They did not try to offer other guns which were on display, they just dismissed me. They suggested I look online and I asked if they would help with that seeing as I was already in the store. The clerk said it would be easier for me to do it my self and continued his conversation with his coworkers. I was prepared to spend over $600 and was willing to look at alternative items but they were clearly not interested in helping at all. In a time when retail stores are struggling during this pandemic, I would think that all customers and sales are important. That is clearly not the case at this location.

Great products. I like the place, BUT.had a jurky gun quit working, got the run around on trying to return it. Bought in May. No receipt, it has Calbela's name in it. Still got the run around. So disappointed.

Only place I'd get my fishing license at, staff is always friendly. Can't go in without coming out with a bag of fishing supplies, kid toys or clothing. Best place to buy hunting knives. If you buy a new fishing Reel, the staff will help out and find what you exactly want as well as help adding the new line to the reel. They have the best fishing selection in this city.

Always so much to look at. Always get distracted and buy wy too much stuff. Customer service is usually pretty good if you can find someone to help you.

Cabelas started off strong in Saskatoon. Now you go there because you have to due to lack of other shops in town for specific items. Staff are generally nice, though may not be very knowledgeable. Management is where it seems to have taken a turn, particularly since Bass Pro has entered the scene. This company was more than willing to be the best in town when there was a competing buisness. Now that the competition has been shut down, Cabelas has taken a dive.

Huge selection of products. Store might be too big for its own good though as all workers need to wear headsets and can be distracted by other staff talking to them. I noticed this when trying to ask for assistance. But will be back again soon.
