Original 1 star review on Dec 15th a few days after I walked into the store to get work done and do some purchasing but was completely ignored sending me to Rings and things where my purchases and repairs were completed, except for a custom ring I'd had made at GMG last year (2022)

The manager replied to my reply and asked for a meeting after she read my original 1star review. I had my face to face meeting on Jan 5th.

When I came into the store for my face to face, I was not taken to a private location, this meeting was held at the till. Sandy seemed to want to chitchat, I am kind, so I obliged. As I said, I used to love GMG. No offer of any compensation was made for the treatment I'd had on Dec 15, a comment from Sandy was an implication that I was extra sensitive that day (as I'd referred to that day being my mom's death anniversary in my original review), which truly showed she is a great manager for the company (not the client) as she did not take direct responsibility for anything.

Now, that custom ring in question (it was my mom's given to her by my dad -both have passed) - when I had taken all my business to Rings and things on Dec 15th, up returning to pick up my newly sized and created purchases and pieces - Rings and things told me my custom ring could not be filled in unless the setting was cut out, back of the band filled then the setting replaced - as my new stone could not stand the heat.quote now was $600-700

I relayed this message to Sandy during our face to face. Sandy had doubled down on that filling my ring would not have been any less costly to have the back filled at the time the ring was created last year as she now also quoted in that same range, not wishing to take responsibility at all that it was on GMG to tell me I COULD NOT fill it in later, rather than an off hand, "yes, for sure you could do that" when I was creating the ring last summer. (note -The fabulous gemologist was doing her best to figure out a solution)

At the end of our face to face - sandy said "leave it with me and I'll check into a few things" (regarding filling the ring)

Hi Aukeera,

It was a pleasure to meet with you last week and get to know you a little bit I do appreciate you taking the time to come back to GMG.

After lengthy discussions and consultations with the owners and goldsmiths, we have decided that the risk is too high to your ring and its best not to attempt any repairs to it. The stone is too unique to ever be able to replace it in the event of it chipping or fracturing during a repair.

see? No solutions, no offer of compensation, only a "we created this problem but in no way will take responsibility for the solution or the serious increase of cost" (as remember sandy repeated more than once that the cost would have been the same as now, which simply isn't true)

In closing may I recommend Rings and things for those of you who enjoy purchasing previously owned jewelry, and for repairs I also recommend rings and things as well as Tasha Sattler Jewelry

Jaimie and all of the staff at GMG were amazing! So very helpful in helping us pick the perfect piece! The best service and of course jewellery! Definitely recommend!

I had to replace a ring that was stolen from me, it was my grandmother's so I had quite a sentimental connection to it. The customer service I received from Raeghan was unbelievable. She was so helpful in providing the quote on the replacement and working with me to make sure the ring was what I wanted and was right for me. She helped me through a difficult process and I greatly appreciated it. I will recommend Raeghan and GMG to anyone I can.

Our experience shopping at GMG with April as our consultant truly exceeded our expectations. Her attention to detail, communication, personability, professionalism and patience were so appreciated. I was intimidated to look at engagement and wedding rings. GMG was the only place we looked and after meeting April, there was never and will never be a need to go elsewhere. She created a no pressure environment that was stress free and enjoyable.
I have been recommending April to friends and family because I want them to experience the same fun and enthusiasm that we did when it comes to ring shopping!

Jaimie was absolutely amazing and so easy to work with! She was very knowledgeable and helped us pick out our perfect wedding bands, that also happened to complement each other beautifully. I highly recommend them! They made us feel so welcome, which was quite the difference from any other place we looked into. 10/10 would definitely shop here again!

I highly recommend GMG Jewellers. My fiancé worked with April to create a custom engagement ring which I adore, and then we both worked with her for our wedding bands. I decided on designing a custom wedding band to match the engagement ring and April was so helpful the entire time. She offered 2 different wax models so I could decide on the perfect setting before the band was made and she kept me updated on their progress the entire time. She always answered all of my questions and never tried to push me to decide before I was ready. If we ever decide to get an anniversary band, we will go back to her for sure!

The customer service representatives that helped me were amazing! The only thing that would have made this 5 stars is if they got the job done right the first time. I got my engagement ring reset because it was a bit bent and when they called me in to pick up my items it was still bent, but nicely clean and shiny. Another thing is that I brought a necklace in to get engraved and I wanted something on the front and the back and only one side was engraved. I had to wait another handful of days for this to be complete. During this time I was able to drop off another necklace to get cleaned and a very special ring to get resized. All in all, their service was amazing!

Highly recommend getting your jewellery from GMG. We worked with April for my engagement ring and our wedding bands. She was so accommodating and very thorough. She provided us with loads of information and tons of options! And got my dream engagement ring!

The lady I had was kinda rude, and offered only $200 for a 6k limited edition ring that I brought in….

I went into this jeweler on a whim just to look around, and April was INCREDIBLY kind to me! She offered to let me try on rings just for the heck of it and I would trust her with any big jewelry purchase I'll ever do in the future. She made me feel so comfortable and at ease, which is something I never would've expected from walking into a store!

Let me tell you I’ve been to other jewelry stores and don’t get me wrong they all try there best but at this store my salesperson Sandy has gone so far and above and beyond all my expectations and was the best sales associate I could of asked for I would highly recommend this store for any jewelry needs best I’ve been to I would say by far

GMG, and in particular Raeghan Schmidt, was absolutely amazing to work with on the creation of a custom engagement ring! I did some shopping around prior to engaging GMG and they certainly provide some of the best customer care in Saskatoon. It is very evident of their dedication to ensuring the customer is satisfied and doing everything within their power to make the process easy. They are also dedicated to providing as much value to the customer as possible and we're even able to find cost savings after I authorized work to proceed.

I brought two bracelets for repair and they did an amazing job in a short time! The bracelets look brand new when I picked up. My mom also buys jewelry from them and she loves every piece. Thank you for the amazing service!:)

Raeghan was amazing at giving advice on what I should do with my mother’s ring. It turned out better then I could have imagined. I’m so pleased with the service and quality.

GMG has been my go-to place for my fine jewelry needs for many years. The service and quality is always incredible. They go above and beyond to ensure you get exactly what you want. My husband and I were in GMG recently and I wandered over to the Hearts on Fire case. There I saw the most pieces and it was love at first sight. Since that day I have purchased a necklace and a pair earrings from the Hearts on Fire collection. The staff at GMG made sure the necklace was ordered with some extra length so it sat at the perfect spot on me and that the earrings were the right fit. I blame Shauna Foster for this new found Hearts on Fire relationship! She totally influenced me with her posts about Hearts on Fire/GMG but I am ok with that! Up next… a right hand ring!

We always have the BEST experience at GMG. We picked out our engagement ring with Darcey, and our wedding bands with Jaimie. They both went above and beyond and always had the best advice. GMG has top notch service, a great selection of beautiful rings, and are always so friendly as soon as you walk through the door. We had an amazing experience with GMG and specifically working with April! She was honest, friendly, knowledgeable and worked really hard at finding us the perfect Diamond for our engagement ring. I never felt any pressure and she was very easy going which is important for myself as I don’t like pressure so that made the whole experience very enjoyable and that much more special! Purchasing an engagement ring at GMG was an amazing experience. At the beginning we knew very little about this process and needed a lot of guidance and advice along the way. We had the great fortune of having Darcy assist us through this process. He was so patient and supportive as we took our time to choose the perfect ring. Darcy was sensitive to our budget, and took our likes and dislikes into consideration. We were also able to take advantage of several perks at GMG such as the trade in option on an old piece of jewelry, a great discount on a exclusive event held several times a year and resizing of the ring with no hassle or cost when I chose the wrong size. April’s customer service is above and beyond. I went into GMG looking for for a Hearts on Fire pendant necklace. April was very knowledgeable about the different options available and was especially attentive to what I was looking for in an everyday piece. GMG Jewlers is the apex of custom jewlery and design in Saskatoon. They not only custom designed and delivered my finances engagement ring for me in half the time other local jewelry shops, the product was absolutely stunning. Jaimie was an absolute blessing to deal with at GMG and kept me in the loop and updated the thru the entire process. They not only delivered early but under budget as well! This Jewlery shop has its reputation well earned and it's 5 stars all the way!

Darcy and the staff at GMG Jewellers are super friendly and helpful. My partner wanted a specific center stone on her engagement ring (not a diamond), and every store in the city said they couldn’t (or wouldn’t) do it. Darcy made a bunch of phone calls and made it happen. It was quite the journey, but in the end the ring turned out amazing and exceeded all expectations. I couldn’t have done it without Darcy’s help.

I can’t say enough about my excellent experience with Robert at GMG. We got a custom made engagement ring from ANOTHER jeweller that turned out to be not set correctly and it was so disappointing. I called GMG and spoke to Robert, he was so understanding, even when I went in later almost in tears. He sat with me over several appointments to find the right setting, the right colour metal, the right diamond and never made me feel rushed. He validated all my concerns with my old ring and took in the old one as a trade toward the new one. My fiancé and I are so happy with the new ring and will be going back for our wedding bands!

My fiancé and I worked with Robert to find our wedding bands and he was amazing! Robert truly cared and was invested in helping us find exactly what we were looking for. I brought them an irreplaceable ring that Rings & Things had almost ruined with a resizing. GMG managed to restore the finish to the silver, fix the scratches on the brass and give it a nice finish on the brass (although the original faux ageing couldn't be replicated), and more than fix on one account, they managed to improve the black lettering and engravings.

The staff were very helpful and understanding with my situation and the work I needed. My ring isn't the same as it was when I received it, but I couldn't be more pleased with the work they've done to restore it.

Robert was funny and great as was the other staff I interacted with. I've been a fan of GMG over the years and they never disappoint! Great job!
