I really like coming to Hachi Sushi however my last experience was not the greatest as one of the staff walking by was going to pick up my dish but dropped other food on me that was in their hands. Thank goodness the food was not hot!

Want to give no star but 1 star is the option. We’re so excited about the food and waiting more than 30 minutes already knowing that they are serving the food at the wrong table very disappointed with the service, I was expecting a good customer service.

The food was amazing. Excellent service. Highly recommended. Try it out if you have not already done so.

I haven't been here in over a year until today. I looked at recent reviews and I saw a lot of negativity (which is valid if it's their experience) before wanting to go. I read the answers from the owner, but I still wanted to try it out since I really enjoyed Hachi when it first opened.

That being said, yes, quality of food has gone down, but not to the point where I would tell people to avoid eating here. The Beef Brisket Ramen is something I've always enjoy having here because it's usually rich in flavour and saltiness - very Umami. Today, I sound the beef kind of sour, the broth 4/5 and the ramen could use some seasoning and longer cooking times for both times I ordered it.

I DID NOT see any fruit flies and the place was clean when I went today. The service was excellent and probably my best experience in dining out in a while.

The sushi quality as a whole in Regina has gone down substantially, and I would suspect due to economy and other hardships, but I wouldn't want this restaurant to close down due to a bad following. I can understand that it's tough keeping everything fresh on the belt but at the same time available with selection. Some items naturally sit longer and they might not be fresh by the time you decide to pick up the plate, but everything I ordered off the menu was fresh (and quick!).

In conclusion, I do believe that Hachi is trying to do better (and they are), especially with the recent negative reviews. It's not perfect and has a lot of growing to do. Looking forward to my next visit!

I’ve been a loyal customer of Hachi Sushi for over 4 years. Their sushi quality is always fantastic and tastes delicious. So, it’s with sincere regret that I find myself looking for a new sushi restaurant to frequent, as I refuse to pay more for under half of what the original portions were 6 months ago. When I order inarizushi, it shouldn’t come with a small round ball of rice that fills about 20% of the pocket, leaving it floppy and with more empty space than rice while having a $2 price increase. Nigiri should not be a small round ball with the chosen seafood wrapped almost all the way around it while also having a $2 price increase. If I wanted sashimi, I would order sashimi. I understand that times are hard for everyone, including local business owners and I would have gladly accepted a price increase on all dishes if the portion sizes stayed the same. I would gladly pay more to support you if your quantity and quality remained consistent with the raise in prices. That unfortunately is not the case here. Their takoyaki is one of my regular items but this time there was so little eel sauce that they were dry. The same goes for the red dragon roll. Almost no eel sauce. I’ve read previous recent reviews regarding the quality dropping significantly and the responses being that it was new employees not knowing how to cook. That’s up to you as the owner and manager to make sure they know how to, especially in an industry where people’s safety is at hand like the food industry. I won’t be coming back, not after what I’ve personally experienced or read in reviews. I gave you three stars as a thank you for the great years and I wish you luck and prosperity in the future.

Edited - Previous rating was corrected from 3 stars to one star to reflect owner’s response. Not having enough rice and blaming it on new employee incompetence is an easy way to not take accountability for the substantial drop in food quality. I am more than aware how long rice takes to cook in a steamer as I’m sure everyone competent is, but allowing that to affect the quality of the meals you’re outputting is abhorrently poor restaurant management. You are a sushi restaurant. It’s in your name. Sushi is a rice dish. If you don’t have enough rice for the current order, you need to notify the client who ordered it and inform them that the order is going to take more time because cutting corners and skimping out on their meal while charging full price is a greedy cash grab. Why anything substandard is allowed to leave the kitchen is questionable enough to warrant the change in rating, but the fact that the owner tries to justify this as appropriate restaurant behaviour is absolutely wild. You have a duty as a restaurant owner to not wasting your cliental’s money by overcharging for half the meal because you were “low on rice”. You increased your prices and instead of contacting the person who ordered it to let them know the kitchen is low on rice and needs more time to prepare it, you WILLINGLY charged your client full price for half the standard meal portion. This is an absolutely disgusting way to treat your clients and if you’re willing to let something like this go, it makes me wonder what other corners are being cut to increase efficiency over quality and care.

Don’t waste your time or money eating here. Owner will gaslight you instead of correcting the problem they caused.

Very disappointed with the quality of sushi, especially considering the 4 star rating I saw prior to arriving. Many of the rolls had too much rice which was overcooked and mushy. The restaurant also has an issue with fruit flies, with many of them crawling on the sushi through the holes of the plate covers on the conveyer belt. There wasn't much choice available on the conveyor belt either.

I am not one to make a negative review lightly and I hope they are able to turn things around (looks like the place previously had more positive reviews). Unfortunately, as things stand I would not recommend stopping here for sushi.

Food was good! Flies were everywhere. Fruit flies landing on the food on the conveyor belt (there’s lids but they have holes so the flies can still get in and they did). House fly landed on my friend’s head twice. Conveyor belt buffet didn’t have a large variety of options.

The worst sushi restaurant I've ever been to in Canada. The raw fish didn't feel fresh at all, and too much rice in the roll and sushi. The price for the buffet looks quite reasonable but there's nothing much to eat. Kinda surprised people gave the stars generously.

Rotating sushi. Varied selection of food. Ambiance is great. Good lighting. Not crowded. Service is quick.

This place the food is amazing It was by far my favorite sushi place. But the last time I went there I was a little distraught about the cleanliness of the building. It was probably one of the dirtiest restaurants I have Went to. The quality of food ten out of ten
But saying the building in that state makes me question the cleanliness of the kitchen

The Sushi train is awesome! When I went it was an hour closer to closing time and very underserved which is understandable but you'd think the price would reflect this in the end, it does not. I also understand the changes in costs but this place is consistently increasing prices by roll or cutting costs in other areas like less wasabi or ginger available to customers. It's best to do take out at this place as of recent. The sushi is still undeniably good, that much I'll give them but the in restaurant experience has gone downhill. I felt like a hassle more than a guest.

Saw this page when looking for sushi options in Regina. The idea of it seemed really neat so we decided to try it.

The price you pay for the amount of food you get if you go for a buffet option is actually really good- although their sushi has a lot of rice filler. You can order off the dim sum menu (caution it’s one piece per order not one serving- so many sure you order accordingly). It’s a small dim sum menu but it’s really well done and tasty.

The sushi options itself on the belt are your basics and a couple specialty but I found it to be a bit underwhelming. The drink options are cans of pop for soft drinks, no refills.

There are desserts on the belt which are your standard Asian fare at westernized restaurants- jello, fruit and cake squares.the restaurant itself is not very modern but it is clean. There is no air conditioning so it was very stuffy inside. It’s small. And the outside is old and not modern- we had to double check it was the right place. Sometimes hole on the wall locations give you a pleasant surprise. This place was mediocre.

I would likely not return unless someone really wanted to try it as I like more high quality sushi. Maybe ordering a La carte has better options and quality but the buffet was not for me and it didn’t meet my sushi needs for the day.

The service was good though, staff were friendly and welcoming, very attentive.

Such great food! We are from another city and some friends took us here and it was so good!

After visiting this place numerous times I can say the quality of food is always excellent but the service inside the restaurant is all over the place, please be more clear on things. Ensure you keep track of your order or you will overpay or underpay sometimes as 2 or 4 people will server you throughout your visit:) thank you delicious.

Cool experience! I wish the rolls weren’t as big and one roll per plate would have been nice to try. But otherwise the food was good and inexpensive. Service was excellent as well!

The food was amazing. Atmosphere less than desirable.no a/c so it was extremely warm. Waitress took quite a while to take our order as we weren't sitting against the train

Overall - ok. Not a very wide selection of exotics. What they have is really good. Plan to visit on a cool day, as the building does not have AC. It gets very hot.

Yummy food. Ordered multiple times already. Always follow special requests. The only thing I wish they cut the same type of roll in equal pieces as it would look nicer on a plate. Ordered dynamite roll and all pieces were in different sizes. Might not be a big deal but does give an impression that they don't care that much of their online orders. Just something to consider

UPDATE: 2 months later and their rolls got worse! So disappointing! Ordered a pick-up. Maybe because it was almost a closing time and they just collected all left over rolls from their conveyor belt, I don't know, but all the rolls were falling apart (had to use my hands as chopsticks couldn't hold together the rolls), didn't taste fresh (some pieces even tasted moldy!), and were all different sizes (from very huge to super small). I regret paying for them. If they treat their clients like that then I should probably find a different sushi place.
