Joey's Fish Shack Regina Quance

Today was our first experience since the name change. It was nothing to make me rush back again. Service was nasty! The server could not get our drink order correct, it took 2 tries before she brought the right drink, but she did get the food order correct on the first time. The food arrived in good time. First impression was nothing to impressive. The fish was very thin and almost no coating. Less than a handful of over cooked fries. Not to mention the meal was $22! Way over priced for the portions we received. Will never go back. I would advise others to save their cash and eat elsewhere!

Had the all you can eat at Joey's fish Shack it was fabulous. This Joey's fish Shack it is rebranded. You people have to understand the is not joeys only fish that is no more no more coleslaw with all you can eat.

Ordered Cod. 2 uniform triangular pieces of fish and a handful of Fry's on a tray we're dropped onto the table. The top grade fish gushed out of the crust. Not appetizing at all. Nothing at all like the old Joey's.

Being from Ontario living in Saskatchewan we so miss Fish and chips. It was nice to be able to finally find a Fish&chip shop!

The food was great & service friendly, but we kind of miss the coleslaw we used to get with Joeys only

I'm from Ontario, and my husband and I are finding it hard to find decent fish and chips. This was our first visit and I was impressed. It's not quite like home, but it was good, and we'll be back.

Just likebi remembered! Had the all you can eat fish and chips and it was just like it was before. They bring your order and ask you if you want more of their mouthwatering fish and after awhile I had to stop. I will definitely be coming back many more times for their delicious food. It's a must for you to stop in, you won't be disappointed

This restaurant opened today. We went for dinner on very first day to taste food and experience opening crowd. Place was almost packed. We ordered three pieces of fish and chips, one order of Buddha Bowel with Mushy Pees on side.
Both dishes were very good. I didn’t give five stars due to size of fish pieces.
Size is smaller then what it used to be when this restaurant was operating before. Nevertheless it’s good to see that fish and chips restaurant is back in Regina. Our server Suleman was friendly and attentive.
Paid $46,00 before tip.
Must try.

Driving by, seen the sign lit up. Turned around and ordered the fish and chips. We missed this place so much, glad to see it open again. See you again next week for Fish Tuesday!

We attended the dine-in soft opening Sunday evening. The food was all very nicely prepared, especially noteworthy was the Fresh Atlantic Salmon cooked to perfection and the "teaser" Shrimp Quesadilla. Staff was very courteous and attentive.

I was excited to see that Joey's is open again. We went for supper; two adults and two adult-ish children who were craving Joey's dino-nuggets, like from when they were younger. Alas, no dino-nuggets, but the food was still good. In fact, the food was very good. 5-stars good. The only complaint about the food was that my wife thought the Buddha Bowl was a bit too spicy, but then we reckoned that Buddhism is all about the suffering, so all is well. Definitely good to have this restaurant back, and we'll be hitting it up again going forward.

So if the food was 5-star good, then why the 4-star review? Well, let me tell you - the service SUCKED with all caps. And I'd bold it and underline it if I could.

First, we were seated for about 15 minutes before anyone came to take our orders. Our waitress did the rounds - took drink orders and food orders. No, wait.she forgot to take my order. She was ready to wrap it up and walk away and I had to call out to her that she still needs to take my order. Seriously. She mumbled something, but no one at our table could hear her.

Woeful sigh.

But wait, there's more. We ordered an appetiser, which she clearly thought was a main-dish food item because it only came out with the main courses. By that time it was cold, and redundant because everyone got their food at the same time. The point of the appetiser is to tide one over until the main dishes arrive. Right? And on top of that, two of the orders were in some way not correct.

Prior to the meals being served, she did not come over to check on us at all, to ask if anyone wanted refills on their drinks, or anything along those lines. In fact, I had to wave over another server (I think the manager / owner) in order to get some refills. The manager was apologetic, but that didn't help with the appetiser or continuously consistent horrible service from our waitress.

What made things worse is that there was another waitress running around doing what appeared to be a super-terrific job. Her customers looked happy. They received appetisers relatively quickly, followed by meals. The table beside us arrived after us and were practically done their meal by the time we received our food. A group two tables over had received appetisers and were well into their meals by the time we got served, and they were seated just a minute or two before us.

So 4-stars. The food was excellent. The service needs some work.

The fish and chips were excellent, the coleslaw…not so much. Not sure if they just forgot to put dressing in it or if that’s the way it’s suppose to be? It was bone dry and very bland, but gave them 5 stars since I’ll be back for the fish

Was at the soft opening tonight and wow. Amazing food and service. The fish and chips are so yummy. My husband had the Cajun combo and loved it! Just enough heat. Everything was fresh and hot! And don't get me started on the mud pie dessert A must try Regina if you missed Joeys Only they are back better than ever!
