Bought new winter tires from Kal Tire Stonebridge this past fall – great service and great tires! Had an issue that I thought might be tires or brakes today; they checked it out and it was a small stone wedged. No charge! Part of their excellent customer service at this Kal Tire branch. Highly recommend!

Went to the Stonebridge location for a wheel alignment and came back for a re-torque a week later as recommended. The service guy (manager I believe) was very rude and charged me $20 for the retorque. I was shocked because I've never been charged this before and it literally took less than a minute to do. Never coming back to this location.

My name is Murry and I will never ever go back to the Stonebridge location if it was the last tire shop on earth. The only guy there that was kind was the manager Jay but front desk staff have zero interpersonal skills or empathy. So long story here sorry. I had already written off the Stonebridge location 2 years ago but sadly I seemed forced to attend them again recently and I'll explain why. After a horrible experience 2 years ago very similar to another review here where a poor person had to change their own flat in front of the staff, I had a similar incident. After spending a lot of money at this store myself, I had a flat tire out of nowhere a summer ago occur only 2 blocks from the Stonebridge location. I panicked and my first instinct was to phone them since I was so close. I get a customer service Rep on the phone and before I could even finish my sentence the guy says "nope we got no spots can't help you. I go to reply and he says" phone 8th street I don't have time to discuss". I was in shock how rude he was to me. I can also confirm this wasn't the call center as I was transferred to the location for this call. So after that I indeed did call 8th street who were amazing and immediately they found me a spot to help with my tire. Since that 8th street visit I have been treated so well there and their manager Elton is top notch! Now to the recent incident. I went to put my wife's winters on which I had not done for a few seasons. When I phoned to book at 8th st I found out my wife's tires were still in storage kind of connected to stonebridge. So my stomach kind of sunk. So I phoned stonebridge to retrieve the tires and was first told I'd have to cancel my 8th street appointment or rebook as it can take up to a week to retrieve my tires which seemed odd as noone told me that. But I was delighted as the manager Jay at Stonebridge said they could still take care of my wife's car even after my past incidents and not mess up losing my spot at 8th street. Sadly I didn't go with my instinct and say no to the Stonebridge offer. So firstly my appointment was at 930. My wife was running a bit late driving my daughter to school so I tried phoning to update them I would be a tad bit late. I couldn't get through as I got the answering service nonstop or a message that the location was closed. Odd. So I ignored and just left for my appointment a bit late. So once I got there for my appointment, a male front desk clerk was yet again rude and disrespectful. So when I first walked in I didn't mind waiting. A mechanic in the back was visiting with a customer for a very long time over a crossbow. No biggie I thought I'm patient. After a very lengthy wait of about 8 to 10 minutes a fellow noticed me from the back and came out.
He didn't know i had been waiting for 10 minutes already but simply said "name"? I said mine and also was trying to explain my appointment was for 930. It was currently 10: 11 and I had waited in line 10 minutes while the other rep visited. So the Rep then replies with a very grumpy tone, "look it's 1030 now not 930". I was kind of taken back and replied "well I'm very sorry about I did try to call down and let you guys know I was running late". It also wasn't 1030 but I just didn't want to argue. I also waited for 10 minutes remember. I even said to him I could simply grab my winters and leave if it was an issue. His reply was even more shocking lol. He looked me in the face in a very condescending tone and said "who said there's a problem I just said it's 1030. " So I just left in shock as now for the third time at the same location I encountered rudeness which I've never ever had once at the 8th street location. In the end I talked to Jay on the phone who is very kind and he even comped my bill so Jay is great there but the male guys who deal with customers need to either take a course in empathy or never work front desk. They need to hire a dedicated person who only deals with customers that is kind. I've never been treated so poorly at a service center in my life on multiple occasions.

I left this location feeling disrespected and sick to my stomach! They damaged all 8 of my rims, some worse than others! (Pictures attached) when I confronted the service advisor about my problem he showed no remorse, and said that his machines all have plastic guards and they could not have damaged my rims, stating that their was dust on the rims and I was to blame! The rims have never had a tire change and is definitely not consistent with curb rash, (I currently hold my 4th year in mechanics) and for him to talk to me like I was dumb made me very upset! I then asked for his name which he replied that it didn’t matter and their was nothing he could do, I asked who to contact about my problem to which he replied that his general manager would be in on Thursday, I am not from Saskatoon and this is a huge inconvenience for me! I asked where to call and the name of the manager and he told me to call the store on Thursday and wouldn’t give me his name! I’m not sure what happened to the customer service in this world but I will never be returning to any Kal tire moving forward! I’m not sure what will be done about my rims but I don’t think it’s fair that I have to replace or pay to get them repainted!

Phoned twice fior appointment, always say they are busy, also can not understand service advisor speaks poor english. Think I will shop some where else.

Our car got a flat as we were trying to leave town for vacation. They got us in and out quickly, and within an hour of our flat we were back on the road. When they couldn't repair our tire they let us know, brought the tire (and one other back tire that was in bad shape) to us, explained the issue and found us two replacement tires on sale.

We really appreciated the staff, how quickly they did the work and got us in with such short notice.

Fast tire swaps in the spring and fall and honest assessments of your vehicle and tire conditions. Best spot on the east side!

I went to this location to have my tires rotated last weekend and I will definitely not be returning. Before I was given my vehicle back I saw them messing around with my radio and stuff so I went outside to ask what they were looking for and the one guy said the mileage and I said they wouldn't find it. (The light on my odometer is out so I'm waiting for parts) which should have been obvious to anyone with any mechanical education cause there's literally a black screen under the speedometer. Anyways the one guy was very persistent in saying he needed it and he didn't listen to me when I mentioned that I would call when that was fixed so he could update everything and he just angrily told the other guy to get out of my car and told me we're done here. I've never seen a grown man throw a fit like a toddler when someone mentions something so simple. Either way I will not be returning to this location. Very unprofessional.

The absolute best service I have had! Fast, efficient, knowledgable, and a great team of people to take care of your needs. I would never go anywhere else!

I’d like to thank the folks at this Kal Tire location for watching me change my tire to a spare in their parking lot because they were too booked to help me. I arrived at the store before opening with a flat on a rental car. I was to drive to Regina that morning as upon opening asked if they could patch, replace or help me change to my spare. I was immediately told they were too busy. I then changed my own tire in a snow covered parking lot in -11 degree F temps. They were nice enough to watch me from their warm comforts inside but offered no help. Thanks Kal Tire!

Bought my first winter tires (studded) from them. Tyres were suggested by B. Birdi, awesome dude. Got the Hakkapeliitta 10. The swapping took less than half an hour. Highly recommend the store.

Went to this location an hour before they closed for my tire that had screw, it wasn’t busy then but they don’t accept walk in customer and advice to book an appointment. We went to the 8th st location instead and over there they accommodate us right away.

Jay was excellent. We had a major issue and he helped us immensely. Was trying to find a new tire shop since moving to Saskatoon. I found one.

Brought two tires on rims in to be balanced. Was charged over $70 for this simple two minutes of service. That's triple what Avalon Auto Service charges. Won't be going back to this shop.

UPDATED 27-01-22;
Just replaced BF Goodrich AT LT truck tires on my 2016 Chev 2500HD with NOKIAN OUTPOST Tyres.
The difference was immediately noticed.
Far quieter ride and smoother than it has ever driven, bumps not nearly as noticeable as previously.
As is Nokian, fully expect great handling on snow as well.

Received typical great service.

One of my favorite places for tyres (that's the way tires are now spelled).
The Nokian tyres are secondary to none for winter performance, price is reasonable for the quality you get.
I purchased those plus rims for our 2013 Honda civic.
Again, reasonable price, look great.
Grandson, 4 yrs old, first time seeing them on the car told his dad, "grandmas car has new nice tires" lol
They also provide great service.

Called and the gentleman at the front desk was able to find me the right tires and fit me in fast to have them switched on. Very polite to deal with!

Honest shop! Went in for a wheel alignment and they let us know we had more issues in the front end. Didn't charge us even though we wasted their time and they didn't try to sell us on repairs or new tires. They definitely have our business in the future.

Selected tires and booked an appointment online. On the day of the appointment was in and out in less than an hour for the exact price quoted online (tax included). Hard to complain when you get exactly what you wanted at the stated price with no hidden fees or upscale sales pitches. Would definately recommend this shop.

Absolutely phenomenal service!
Helped my wife with her flattening tire (even though it seemed he was on a lunch break).
Was a simple fix, however the fact that Jay offered assistance on the spot willingly and without seeming to be inconvenienced made her day. Thank you for the great customer service and for showing some compassion.

Kal Tire on Melville St.in Saskatoon has great tire service when you buy new tires there. I just have a serious concern about one of their all-weather tires (the Nordman WR). In 2017 and as of today's date in 2019, the Nordman and the more expensive Nokian all-weather tires had the exact same rating for traction and braking performance on ice in the comparison charts on the Kal Tire website. Therefore, I reasoned that the Nordman was going to be good value for my limited pension dollars. As it turned out, the Nordman tires were significantly worse on ice and snow than the factory all-season tires that came standard on my Nissan Sentra. With the new Nordman tires, my automatic traction control was forever kicking in whenever I braked on ice or snow or whenever I tried to accelerate from a full stop. Through three winters with the previous factory tires on my Sentra, I never had anywhere near that much of a traction problem. Since all-weather tires are supposed to have slightly better grip in winter driving than all-season tires, I'm surprised that the Nordman tires met the standards required for the all-weather classification. In my experience they are inferior even to all-season tires and therefore less safe for winter driving. In my opinion, they were a waste of my limited pension dollars and, for my safety, I am now faced with replacing them after only two winters and 5,000 km. That being said, I wouldn't hesitate to buy an upgraded version of all-weather tires from Kal Tire, but this time I'll buy them in January and if they don't perform better than an all-season tire, then they will be returned within the 30-day full refund period. Also, I want to clarify that Kal Tire tire service is excellent when you buy new tires there. My concern is only about one of their many products and I have nothing but praise for their tire skills and service. They fix slow leaks quickly and for free. Also free is the balancing and topping up winter tire pressure. Great service, just don't read too much into their tire comparison charts.
