Kal Tire

I honestly had high hopes for showing up at this shop. I needed a tire topped up, and they always had great customer service and beat the gas stations.
I pulled up, walked in, and talked to the gentlemen at the front. I was asked if I could get air put in my tire or if I could really quickly do it. Guy was not interested in any of it.made the excuse that his guy was busy in the back, as I could clearly see him pressure washing the floor. Guy started walking away from me while telling me to come back tomorrow to have my tire topped up. I clearly see customer service is not a thing anymore these days, but this was a setback.

I did not like the manager Mark at the one location because he was arrogant and inefficient so I changed to the location at Kat Tire South and I have had simply amazing service there.

Awesome service…brought my vehicle in at 8: 50am for a 9: 00am appointment and it was ready at 9: 20am! So happy with the speedy change over to winter tires! Highly recommend this location.

Polite, professional and efficient front counter service and they were on time. Just a change over of winter to summer tires this time. They reported on tire wear and expected life of the tires and even checked the brakes. They were even considerate enough to drive my vehicle to the door for me as I have mobility issues. Great service. Now that I know their tire policy for rotations, repairs etc. I will be going there for my future tire needs. Way better and more timely service than I have gotten from the dealership - Ill be dealing with Kal-Tire from now on.

Had a power steering belt replaced at the South Albert Kal Tire in Oct 2022. A short time later the belt started squealing again. I looked at the belt, and it was damaged. I brought it back to Kal Tire. They told me they accidentally put the belt on upside down and that it needed to be replaced. They told me that they would charge me for a new belt, for labour the remove and replace that belt, and for labour to remove the AC belt, as the AC belt was in the way. That was the point I realized I needed a new mechanic.

I asked my friends on facebook if they knew of an auto mechanic in Regina who does good honest work. Three of my friends recommended Landry's Service on North Winnipeg Street. I went to Landry's. They replaced the power steering belt. They told me that the belt was not on upside down. Rather it was obvious that the Kal Tire mechanic did not take the bolts off when he replaced the belt. Rather than taking the bolts off, the Kal Tire mechanic just stretched the belt to get it on. That is what would have damaged the belt and caused it to fail.

The guys at Kal Tire didn't even apologize for the mistake they made, which caused me to lose time from work and cost me money to repair their mistake. If that isn't an example of poor service, I don't want to know what is. I certainly will not be going to Kal Tire at South Albert ever again and would definitely not recommend anyone else go there either.

Went for tyre change and alignment. Tyre got changed after that ABs and traction control light is on. Went again the salesperson said there is no connection with tyre change or alignment. They didn’t even check with vehicle. Worst service.

Very friendly, quick, honest and always goes extra mile to help you out. And affordable price for sure.

Brutal. I had the car in to fix the brakes and brake line. The first time picking up the car, the car's engine light was on, and the engine light has never been on in the two years I have had the car. They reset it and said they did not touch anything that would cause that. I picked up my car the second time as the new brake part was faulty and my car had no brake fluid it in (not sure if it leaked out because of the faulty new part or they forget to fill it). They left my window down in the storm, and now my car was idling at 3000 rpm and flying up and down at stops. Said they did not touch the engine and bring it back on Monday (asked them to look at the new problem and they did not have time). Was told idling is probably a coincidence I went home and popped the hood. The engine oil cap was off (so the engine was not sealed making the car idle crazy). You need to pull the engine cover off to get to brake fluid. I put the oil cap back on, and the car ran fine. If you can't put an engine cap on or roll up a window, I can only imagine what else happened to my poor car. So that is three times I picked up my car, and it had new problems. The engine light is back on again, but hey, according to them, it's probably my vehicle's fault. It just magically happens when you leave Kal Tire South. They operate the customer is always wrong until he proves he is right. Unacceptable service.

Unbelievable service and quality work done at this location. I was in a car rental from Ontario traveling to BC during there first snow storm dump. I was in a horrible situation, traveling delay and no available appointments any where in Regina, Saskatchewan…. This location HELPED me solve my snow tire issue. I went in to get Winter Tires for my Elantra. The service was excellent and the work was completed within an hour. The Service Technician also went through a few other things on pricing and the cost to me. Kal Tire is very good!

Kal tire is not an all around mechanic shop, but they do a lot there and I was surprised after I called and asked what they offer. They were fast. I went in because I needed a rotation because a past place that I went to did not do it correctly, so it caused problems that were unneeded. Kal tire got me in quickly. They also only took under two hours to get two new tires, change them, and rotate them. They also told me to come in after some time to tighten again free of charge. They called me before they did anything to my car as in telling me the price options for tires available now and available if I don't mind waiting for the stock to come in. Also a free diagnostic of what they believe what happened in my instance, but could vary depending on situations. They switched my front two new tires to the back and placed my newly purchased ones on the front free of charge as well. They were very helpful and listen to your concerns without making you feel uneducated. They answered all questions I had for future plans that I plan on changing and they did not charge me for unnecessary work.

In fall 19/20 put on my winter tires at Kaltire in south end. It was here that I purchased the winter tires & rims & have gone back yearly to swap them over. Not sure if they intentionally put way too much air pressure in my winter tires (was over 80PSI) & I drove like that all winter! In early March I had a low tire & filled it myself put in 35 PSI which is what supposed to be however car was driving badly. When going for an oil change asked to check tire pressure & discovered 80 psi in all tires but the tire I filled. Really got me questioning if Kaltire did this deliberately because the winter tires are coming to the end of their life. These are the pros or so I thought that they know tires however not so sure now. When changing my tires to summer yesterday asked the fellow if the techs know where the tire pressure rating guide is how to reset the dashboard. On the retorque today insisted that the pressure be checked & then I rechecked when got home.

Was in for a wheel alignment. Left my steering componets loose. Came back 20 days later. They aligned it again and it was worse than when I originally took it in. Again they left my upper control arms loose on both sides, yet the manager told me it was fine. I took it to another place in regina. Kaltire wasted about 6 hours of my time. They charge 160 for alignment and it took 6 hours with the 2 visits. I paid 110 at another new place in regina and it was perfect and done in 35 minutes.

Updating my review from a 1 to 3 star. We took a truck in to get the bearing replaced on the passenger side. It took nearly 4 hours since they didn't know the bearing and seal came in different packages. We thought our truck had been fixed properly and was safe to drive. Three weeks later, we were driving down the highway and the bearing broke causing the knuckle/spindle joint to bend. They had to replace the same bearing they apparently fixed 3 weeks ago. We could have been hurt or killed. They couldn't find a replacement knuckle/spindle, so we had to order one and pay for the part out of our own pocket even though their negligence caused the damage. They are putting it on for free but when we went to drop our vehicle off this morning they said it couldn't be done until tomorrow. They could have called us to let us know they couldn't do it today.

The manager was very apologetic and did his best to fix our truck quickly. Since we had to pay for the new knuckle/spindle out of our own pocket (part shipped from Ontario), he offered us a free oil change on the truck. This is being done tomorrow. He was very accommodating.

I went here on Saturday because of a problem with my valve stem. The employees didn’t even ask my name and just came out and changed the end of the valve. No cost. Thanked me for coming and told me to come back if I had anymore issue. Great customer service

Dropped my car off 45 minutes to closing because a rock was stuck in my brakes. I was hoping to drop it off and pick it up the next day. They called me back a half an hour later telling me that there was indeed a rock in brakes and my car was ready for pick up. Not only did they get my car fixed before expected, but they didn’t charge me a penny. One of the perks of owning Nokian tires (best winter tires)!

I wouldnt recommend this place. They cant get you in when you tire keeps on going flat. Even when you brought the tire there to begin with. I've had bad experience before. Never again. I'll get my winter tires somewhere else. If I wanted my tire repair at the north end I would of went there to begin with but I live in the south end.

I want to give a huge thank you to the staff. I had a tire mishap over the weekend while visiting in Regina and arrived at their store at 7: 30 on Monday morning. They dealt with my problem right away and did the necessary repairs. They also checked my other tires to be sure there were no other problems after my unfortunate meeting with a curb! I couldn’t have asked for better treatment. Within an hour I was headed out of the city and back home. Thank you so much. Ruth

Make sure you get a quote or you could go in for one minor thing and end up with a hefty bill for work you didn’t know was going to be done (and likely wasn’t necessary). I won’t be returning.

Previously complimentary services suddenly became paid at this location, staff visibly annoyed when questioned about the new policies. I expected poor service and they delivered. Go to any other location in the city.

Very irresponsible behaviour at help desk, I called two times but not replied satisfactory, and service was not good at all

I stopped in for a retorque after a car meet in Regina and I was heading home to Yorkton. I was told on the phone that a retorque is free and I can just stop in. So I thought great this is awesome! I got there and the service was friendly. But your staff looked confused when I told then to torque my wheels to 80 foot pounds since it's a 2018 Honda Civic Si. Which is factory specs. Anyways the young lad that torqued my wheels went past the click on my lugs a little bit and thought nothing of it. I thought hey if they are a little bit tighter that is fine it shouldn't be too much. Months after when I go to sell my wheels and put my factories back on. I noticed most of my studs are now stripped and my lug nuts are now stripped. Not impressed at all.

Someone close to me recommended me to go here.i asked for the undercarage to be checked because of weird sounds.they told me there was a severe problem but when i got my dad to call for more details they said everything was minor.we even asked for a quote and they never sent it.never coming here again.if you are in a job the fix vehicles dont go screwing with people in a way that makes them see you as a fake.it shouldnt be just about the money it should be about keeping people safe and being truthful of our safety.if there is no danger you say so and if there is you also say so.even if its easy to fool young women.again im never coming here again but get your act together
