McQuarrie's Tea & Coffee Merchants

I've tried over a dozen different teas from this place now, and one thing has remained consistent. Its always good tea. A little more pricey then tea bags at the superstore but its 100% worth it. My favorite ones are the Ontario ice wine, dragon pearl green tea, earl grey tea, and they have also have a nice selection of Oolong teas.

Very nice little shop, always buy my teas here. They have everything you need to have a nice brew, several selections of fruit, black, green, earl grey, vanilla, rooibos teas and everything for teas. They have good selection of coffee too including the green coffee.

Stopped here to check out their coffee beans. Just the smell from when I entered makes me never want to leave. They have a great selection of teas, coffee and more. The prices are great and the staff are really nice. We will be back soon.

I am always astounded at the delivery service, super fast and totally worth it. This comes first but the coffee is always so fresh and great variety. Love it!

Amazing, affordable tea and coffee, increasingly knowledgable and kind staff, and a beautiful and full store. I have up getting my tea anywhere else!

This review is strictly for coffee beans. As someone who used to import and roast beans (both personally and for work), I know a little bit about the coffee roastery process.

4 stars for the following reasons:

They don’t roast their coffee beans; they outsource that process. That’s not a crime, but the problem with that is (1) you don’t know exactly when they get roasted and (2) roasting profile isn’t made known to you.

Unfortunately I ran into that very issue in this store. The guy who worked there couldn’t tell me when and how the beans got roasted. Actually, he didn’t seem like a type of guy who would enjoy coffee to begin with. He couldn’t articulate the flavor profile for a few beans I asked. He just read word for word, without any enthusiasm, what was in the A4 size file containing such info. (Maybe he had a bad day so I’m willing to give him the benefit of the doubt here) That said, people who work in any coffee shop/roaster need to LOVE coffee and be passionate about it. That’s what makes the difference in my opinion.

I tried a few beans, they are good quality beans for sure, but they are not as fresh as I expected. Hopefully they improve in the roasting/passion department.

Service was okay, but the tea we got was amazing! We tried some type of almond Rooibos and it was really good. I appreciated the paper bag option for minimal waste.

The most incredible selection of teas. We go to Saskatoon once a year (all the way from northern Alberta) and this is a must-stop, and get about 2 lbs of different teas to last us til our next trip. The atmosphere is so unique - the decor and light makes it feel like I'm walking into some kind of fantasy trading post. The teas are absolutely incredible, and the staff are really kind and always have a suggestion if you're stuck on which tea to get. My suggestion is the Cream Earl Grey Roobios - I've tried most of their teas at this point, but this is absolutely my favourite.

Needed a replacement gasket for my old Bialetti espresso maker. Thought it would be a hassle tracking one down. They had a silicon one to fit for $4? ! PERFECT.

They have a huge inventory of coffees which can be freshly ground specifically to your needs.
A tea lover will find their wish come true with the large variety of loose and prepackaged selections.
If you are a coffee or tea aficionado this is your "must visit" destination.
Warm and friendly service makes it special. A family owned business that has been here for generations.

I've done in-store shopping and also ordered online for curbside pickup. Both are quick and easy and the staff are so friendly.

I ordered some tea for a Christmas gift. I ordered online and it was delivered on the next business day. Very very happy! I appreciate the measures McQuarries is taking with covid safety and provincial rules in effect. Thank you!

You need to make an appointment to come in and shop. Would be nice to have that posted on here or on their Facebook page. I was disappointed that I didn’t get to grab the last things on my list from there.

I love how many selections McQuarries has! Their flavoured coffees and all their regular roasts are amazing.

Staff is friendly knowledgeable and very helpful. They have a great selection of teas and coffee.

McQuarries are wonderful and their staff are very polite. They really went above and beyond to deliver my coffee order during the COVID-19 quarantine and Darcey - who delivered the order - was very courteous.

In only a few hour swing from ordering, we had our three different grinds at our house.

I love this place, the atmosphere, the smell, the coffees and teas of course and all their fun coffee&tea related knick knacks! My only complaint is whatever man who works here is extremely rude and grumpy and literally makes me feel afraid to go in lol. I always peek through the window to make sure he's not there and if he is I don't go in.

I don't drink coffee but I do drink tea and I LOVE the selections they have for tea! There are so many flavours to choose from for both coffee and tea, and you can get the coffee beans ground up for whatever type of coffee maker you have.

Great service as usual! Good supply of everything including custom gift baskets of teas and coffees!

Excellent selection. These guys know their Tea and Coffee. If your a die hard coffee drinker or even if you would like to try something different this is the place to go!

Awful service. Eyerolling and snobbish attitude from the one man with the neckbeard. Unbelieveable that asking for 2 pouches of 300g of tea was "a lot". Going elsewhere. Shocked to see 4.7.

A seemingly limitless amount of teas and coffees are available here the prices are great and the smells cant be beat lol I really like the extras that they have available from cups to presses!

Amazing selection. I do find the staff to be a bit standoffish and awkward. It seems like they care a lot about tea and coffee and don’t enjoy the customer interaction piece. In any case I will return since the store is one-of-a-kind.

McQuarrie's is the best place in the city to get coffee beans and loose leaf tea. Variety is outstanding and they'll grind the beans for you set to the type of coffee maker you use.

I have been going there for years, it never ceases to amaze me. If you want top-tier tea and coffee (including brewing equipment) there is no finer place in the province.

Best place to buy loose leaf tea in town for sure. I'm not sure how many they have to choose from but it's in the hundreds. Big selection of coffee too. One unique thing they offer is flavored coffee. (I reccomend the hazelnut flavor). Lots of tea and coffee accessories too. It's the perfect place to buy Christmas or birthday gifts from if you know someone into tea/coffee.

The staff are always pleasant to talk to and can help you make decisions. One thing to note is that students get a discount so make sure you let them know if you are.
