Motel 6 Swift Current, SK

Was in a big group traveling from banff and had to stop for the night due to extreme weather, staff was very accommodating, rooms were nice and clean

Our bus had no heat in -40 degree weather, and they were able to accommodate over 50 people so we could fix the bus, warm up, and get some sleep. The staff was extremely helpful and kind to all of us.

Excellent, however, the downwards hill in the winter to get to this place is a death trap.

Front desk employee were incredibly kind. There was a fridge, microwave, electric kettle in the room. Mattress is very comfortable and towels very soft. I didn’t not expect that from that motel chain. I definitely recommend!

Great place to stop and get some sleep traveling across country, Friendly staff and a clean and quiet room

We got stuck in swift current during the recent storm with closed highways. Checked into the Travelodge across the highway but had to get out as it’s a biohazard. Daughter called motel 6 and they were able to get us a Room on short notice with the city filling up. We were so grateful.

Room was clean and comfortable. Tims muffins for breakfast and delicious coffee.

Thanks Motel 6. You saved us.

Room was clean, staff was great, love the modern style. Every time in Swift this is my first choice.

Went there with low expectations after seeing the comments and was happy with the place. My kitties were comfortable too. So all good for me!

This is one the best hotels we've checked in to. The staffs are very hospitable and the room was so clean and comfortable. Special thanks to Star who accommodated us so well. Exceeds our expectations! Highly recommended!

Rooms aren't cleaned very well. There isn't even a coffee maker or microwave. Always smells like a hospital. Bathrooms are disappointing. Staff I found extremely nice and accommodating except 1 younger girl was very snotty seemed she hated her job not personable at all

It was a pretty nice hotel for a reasonable price comparitively. When we checked in the front staff was not friendly. She did not smile once and spoke so quietly we had a hard time hearing her. The morning staff was better. Our room and the main floor were clean.

It was super clean and modern. Sherry at the front desk was super nice and helpful. If I’m ever in Swift Current again, I would definitely stay here again!

If I could put zero, I would. Staying on the 4th floor and it WREAKS of cigarette smoke up here. Like someone is smoking in the hallways! Never ever ever will I be back.

Clean and comfortable room and pet friendly.the front desk manager was very hospitable and helpful making both our stays a stress free visit. Motel 6 has done a great job reinventing itself in Canada and strives to provide a comfortable experience for the weary traveller. I will seek them out in the future and I hope they bring their new concept to B. C.as well. I also should mention compettivley priced as well!

We had such an amazing experience at Motel 6 in Swift Current! The best place we stopped at on the way from Toronto to Calgary. Friendly people. Modern looking room. Great furniture. Very clean. Everything that we needed. Plus, pet friendly too. You won’t be disappointed if you decide to stop by here. Definitely recommend!

Comfortable and affordable, muffins and coffee for breakfast. Beds and pillows are ok, not the greatest but good enough

Decent hotel, with clean room. Wasn't able to sleep much as room was too hot. Could not turn Heating off and thermostat was set to the lowest setting. Need to make heating more controllable for guests.

We had to leave and find another hotel because our room was full of bugs. It was late in the day which added to our stress. The bugs were coming in through the window which was closed. The manager asked what kind of bugs they were. Told us to go out for an hour so she could fix the issue. When we came back she was gone for the day. She told the young girl at the counter to tell us there was nothing she could do. So we left. The young clerk was helpful in trying to help, but the manager should be fired.
We had asked the manager if she had bug spray. She simply said No.
Anyway we found another hotel at 7pm that night.
Very stressful overall. Would not recommend

They wouldn't let us in our room till my friend came 3 hrs later not even if I gave them my credit card

Our room was clean and everything functioned. Our front desk lady (after a long wait to check in) was happy to help us and apologized for the wait. She even reminded us that pets stay for free.

We checked into our room put our stuff down and went out for the night. We were at a function with a lot of people. We heard through the grape vine that they were staying at the Motel 6 & their rooms, sheets and much more were dirty. We came back to the hotel and checked the sheets.sure enough there was hair & what looked to be pee stains on them. Looked around the room and it was dirty, dusty & broken beds. At this time it was 12: 30 am, I called down to the front desk and the receptionist seemed annoyed that I asked for new sheets & bedding. WAITED 45 MINUTES for her to “find” us some new bedding cause the hotel was sold out. Finally I was fed up and called again. Surprise a shift change and the lady I spoke to- gone. The gentleman on the phone said he would bring me a set right away. He only brought a fitted and flat sheet for one bed.

Next morning went down and spoke to a different receptionist. She said she was so sorry and would have someone go in and clean the room spotless for us today. (We booked 2 nights) We came back after not being here all day and beds were made…. Same sheets as the night before (they had ink stains on the side and we took note). WILL NEVER EVER STAY HERE AGAIN. DO NOT RECOMMEND.

Every other hotel in Swift Current was booked and we literally had to stay here.

I booked a queen room with kitchennette. I got a kitchennette but a double bed. I inquired and I was told that it is your version of a "queen" so suffice to say I was extremely unhappy. Although I got a kitchennette which was good considering I am staying for 21 nights. Well wasn't good, I notice the place isn't built for guest comfort but rather for house keeping to clean quicker just how the place was designed and no carpet and no fabric at all.everything was plastic or rubber. That being said it was still gross, the shower had black mold and dirt all over, The place they kept putting the towels was dusty enough I could write a book in it. I paid $1600 to stay in a disgusting place that just looked good from far but was far from good. As I spend 3 weeks a month in hotels, I am often asked for advice where to stay. DO NOT STAY AT MOTEL 6! That price to comfort ratio is non existent. You pay for an uncomfortable stay.

Great modern Motel 6. Good value. Like lots of motels in this class you can hear the folks walking above you. I'll try and get a top floor room next time.

Nice hotel for a quick stop over. Room decor was different. Reminded me of Rowan and Martins Laugh In from the 60s. Laminate floor that was in need of replacement. Fridge did not have a freezer so could not freeze our cooler freeze packs. Otherwise room was okay.
I had a uhaul trailer but was not able to park it in the parking lot. Had to park on the public street overnight which I was not comfortable with but had no choice. I would stay there again.

Once the girl at the front desk was done texting I was able to be checked in. The hand sanitizer stations in the lobby and at the elevator were empty upon arrival and departure. The room stunk, smelt like a smoking room from the 80's. Housekeeping was good.

A great place for a quick stop over on our trip to BC. Close to the highway. Hotel and room were clean. Room had plenty of space. Different looking decor in room. The beds were comfortable. Pillows were so so. Muffins and coffee were available in the morning.

Inexpensive hotel which was the main reason we picked it. Ok in general. Rooms were clean, but the common areas were a bit less so and elevators/lobby had a greasy smell a few times. Not much for amenities (which we didn't need this time), but they do have muffins and coffee available in the morning.

We had a great stay. It is located just off the national highway so it is quiet and there is no traffic noise. The rooms were spacious, clean and modern. We enjoyed the organizers for our stuff in the room. Free breakfast including coffee and fresh muffins was great. Helpful staff.

Very nice place to stay overnight, clean rooms, tasty coffee and muffins. But bring your own hair dryer.

Rooms are not clean ' bed sheets too dirty 'talks to reception 'they are give me other room 'when i open the door'like a so much camical' like a room freshness 'after we are opening windows 'then go hardly sleep

The remote control for the TV didn't work and there was nobody at the front desk when I went to ask for more batteries. The tap for the tub also didn't work properly. Everything else was great.

This place was great! Very nice and polite staff. The rooms were very clean and comfortable! Stayed here two separate times and will choose it again when in Swift Current.

When arrived the front desk guy quickly followed us to our room and panicked as we opened the to door saying 'is someone already in that room? '
Thankfully there wasn't but this is not the room we booked online. So we were a little skeptical we might get visitors.
Then at 8am some had opened our room door. Thankfully I had all the locks on but they still managed to open it a bit.
I felt very uncomfortable and not safe here in my 'own' room.
Will not be back. Rooms are cringe too.

Clean, tidy, and super reasonably priced and the entire building looks fresh and tidy. Check-in/Check-out was seamless and easy. Front office staff were very pleasant. There is no carpet in the rooms, so when the floor looks clean, it is actually clean. We (my daughter and I) felt very safe in our room, the lobby, and the parking lot (that is always important to me). And maybe I'm just getting lucky, but the Motel6s I have stayed in always have fabulous, fluffy towels. I love a good towel. If you are looking for turndown service, origami swans on the end of your toilet paper roll, and 14 hand-stuffed down-filled pillows on your king sized Egyptian cotton sheets, don't stay here. But if you are looking for a safe, clean, comfortable and inexpensive place to stay, stay here.

A clean room, quiet place and comfortable bed. Highly recommended for people who is passing by or staying in Swift Current for business.

Dog barked for 2 nights in a row in adjacent room, motel staff didn't do nearly enough to manage the situation, multiple calls and a visit to the front desk and still nothing more was done to stop the dog from barking.

Hallways smelled like a CP Railmans dirty foot.

Upon arrival we could see a number of workman with their respective gear milling about in the lobby area so we were sure to ask for a quiet room. We were told there were no single queen rooms available for travelers and offered a choice of 2queens, 2queens w/ kitchenette or 1 queen w/ kitchenette.

I realized the building was full of 'contacted workers' when I saw there sign in sheet on the desk top so I asked for a free upgrade to a queen w/ kitchenette. This request was denied and my fiance has already parked the semi truck outside (no small feat) so I just rented the double queen room for 2 adults.

The smell greeted us immediately upon turning toward room 117 which happened to be located directly beside and across from a pair of CP designated Crew rooms. The occupants of the rooms treated then as though they were at home, bumping and banging around most of the night. After they returned to the room at about 12: 15am.

No, I didn't get out of bed and whine at the front desk staff who felt it appropriate to put me there in the first place. We tried my hardest to get what sleep we could before a loooong day of driving. The desk staff maintained the following upon checkout at 8AM:
*The room they presented to us was the only available. Until I brought up my request for a reduced rate on the queen kitchenette
*They didn't notice a smell in the hallway, certainly not one objectionable
*Had I called the front desk in the middle of the night the agent could have tried to help me. Then followed with a quick rant about 'CP Men' being good, quiet guys who just go to work and come back to sleep.
*They've never received a complaint from anyone in that room before. They now have.

We stayed at the Motel 6 in Moosomin the night before and it was a beautiful spot!
*The owner greeted us and checked us in
*VERY clean room. No smell, beautiful bathroom,
*Amazing fresh muffins etc. In the AM
*Hotel was PACKED. Hotel was respectfully quiet.
*Paid $10 LESS than Swift Current. Owners were giving travellers 'Holiday Rates'!

For a quick over night stay it is very nice. Clean and easy check in. I also used my AMA membership for a discount which was great.

Unsanitary moldy the floors are filthy. The beds are not nice and the walls are paper thin so you can hear everything not recommended AT ALL.

I stayed here two years ago when it was new, and it was a wonderful inexpensive clean hotel where we could stay with our dog. The rooms now look like they haven't been maintained properly. There were black stains on the floor around the toilet; the bathroom fan was very loud, and there was a yellow stain on the bedspread. The front desk staff was very welcoming upon check in; and the room was actually clean, but the lack of attention to maintenance issues would make me not book there again.

The people working there were friendly, the room was clean, and they have a guest laundry that I took advantage of.in a good way.

Rooms were exceptionally clean! Also, the decor of the room was quite nice; I wasn't expecting that from a Motel 6. Location is great with numerous restaurants and cafes. Front desk staff in the evening was very friendly and accommodating.

-Bathroom door is heavy and therefore does not stay open unless you prop it open with the garbage can. That can be annoying when you have 2 people in and out of there in the morning.
-Housekeeping knocked on the door at 8: 00 am for cleaning.

We stopped for one night on our way back home from our vacation in the Rockies. The hotel is new and spotless! The desk staff was very helpful and friendly. We requested rooms near each other and they were able to accommodate us. The price was very reasonable! The decor in the rooms reminds me of Scandinavian furniture. The motel is close to many restaurants and its in a very quiet area of Swift Current. The window in our room opened and that was wonderful. We totally enjoyed our stay!

Nice place to spend the night, room was clean, and beds where comfortable, only problem was the tv was miss the HDMI port, wanted to watch a movie on tv, off laptop but couldn't.

We loved how efficient and clean the room was! The front desk people were very friendly and helpful. This was a real find on our travels through the Prairies.

Very functional. My room had a small fridge, complimentary shampoo and soap. No coffee maker but there is a Tim Hortons 100 m away. On the down-side, walls are thin.neighbouring rooms can be distracting if you have noisy neighbours.

Free breakfast was old muffins and nothing else then the room wasn’t the greatest either no channels but maybe 8 then the bed was sleeping on solid plywood.

Room clean comfortable, good for traveling with our dog, but there was much too much scent used in linen and cleaning products. Anyone scent sensitive would be very uncomfortable. Otherwise our stay was fine.

Room was great, very clean. Really liked the up to date decor. We found that the heater didn’t throw very much heat but overall very nice

Had room booked on line, got there no room.stayed in many motels never treated like this no incentive to ever stay in any motel 6 again

To call our room a suite with kitchen was really stretching it. It was a normal sized room, but instead of a dresser they replaced it with a countertop, hotplate and fridge. So, there wasn't any place to unpack clothing. Also, on the second night we were there, there was a power outage and the smoke detectors beeped from 4: 30 a.m. To about 8: 30 a.m. This was mostly beyond their control, except we could see that the rest of the city had their power restored for hours but there was apparently no one working who could reset the power for the hotel. This led to a very sleepless night.

Other than that, the place was clean and very accommodating for our two large dogs.

Very disappointed with my room and the stay overall. I stayed on a night when the outside temperature was below 0C and the heating unit in my room did not work. All the unit would do is blow out cold air. As a result, the room was very cool, it was closer to camping than staying in a hotel.

I spoke to the manager, Debbie, about this and she essentially accused me of not telling the truth. I was at the end of driving across the country and was not interested in trying to rip-off the hotel, all I wanted was a decent night sleep as I was getting up at 6: 00 and getting back on the road.

We will not be staying at a Motel 6 again.

Nice rooms. Clean and has everything you would need for a good nights rest. BUT a huge difference from the Motel 6 in Moosomin for breakfast. Moosomin serve a great selection of breakfast food. Toast, bagels, hard boiled eggs.cereal, yogurt etc. Motel 6 in Swift Current offers tea, coffee and a saran wrapped muffin. That's it. We stayed in Moosomin one night and liked it so much we looked for the Motel 6 in Swift Current expecting the same. A little disappointing. We don't understand when it's the same chain motel.

Sean at front desk very friendly and helpful, he went out of his way to assist and make us feel welcome. Efficient lay-out of room appreciated, laminate flooring very appreciated when travelling with 1 dog and 1 cat (carpets = stressful, what if something happens? !). The bed was good and the AC worked very well. The only complaint was the coffee (ugh, really horrible). Breakfast (vs.muffins) would have been appreciated BUT for the price of the room this is not a complaint, just an observation.
