Orchard Veterinary Care

I adore dealing with Orchard vet for all my critters. The front staff are welcoming, and their texting system for appointments/ communication make the whole experience easier. Their vets and techs are knowledgeable and kind - they treat my fellas with great compassion while keeping them healthy. I've been going there for years and I'm quite happy.

I didn’t think it was possible, but my goldfish was saved by the miracle work of Drs. Orchard and DeWalt and the staff at this great vet clinic! Special shout-out to Courtney for making this procedure possible and setting up the consult. A growth on my fish’s eye was getting out of control getting to be half his body weight in less than a year, and was starting to split open. The quick work of these great doctors meant that my Fishy could swim comfortably and avoid a fatal rupture. His energy was as back as before, greeting me at the tank and swimming quickly to the top, which wasn’t possible anymore. Thank you! He healed wonderfully and will continue to swim for years to come!

I love this clinic, they were quick to help me with my old doggo and her issues and they seemed to care a great deal about doing what’s best for her and making sure we feel taken care of! I very much recommend this place!

Update: saw Dr. Orchard herself when my dog was limping. She was wonderful, gave me such a good explanation of what was going on. She does chiropractic care on pets, which we didn't need, but if we did I'd be confident in her services.

Orchard vet care became my dogs vet 4 years ago! I'm very happy with their care and attention to my dogs.

I just got back from the 2nd ave orchard vet location. The vet was lovely. Calm. Empathetic. The vet tech was lovely. The front desk was welcoming and chatty. The vet didn't try to push tests on me for my sick dog. We are try a low impact round of anti inflammatory first. Will be back.

They also called me a few days later to ask how my dog was doing! It was wonderful.

RECORD your phone calls, poor knowledge of pricing

Receptionist (s) review
⁃ Very poor communication on multiple accounts - (told me I was booked for the chiro but did not mention the apt was a regular vet apt to bump me up the chiro waiting list)
⁃ Poor knowledge of the pricing and process of the chiro waiting list - told me it would be $100 for the vet apt, and an additional $180 for chiro. I clarified this a few times because it seemed like a lot especially since, to my knowledge, they booked me an apt I didn’t need. (Found out after the fact it should have only been an additional $80, not 180)
⁃ DISHONEST. A receptionist I talked to LIED to the owner, saying I called them idiots and names she couldn’t say out loud. At this point it’s all “he said she said” so I really wish I had recorded the conversation to show that I did not call anyone names, let alone ones that couldn’t be repeated.
⁃ Dr. Orchard is the only animal chiro in the province so this receptionist who lied has now taken away the last chance my dog had to figure out what is wrong. We will now have to go out of province.

Vet review
⁃ Dr. Wade is awesome. (Pretty sure that’s who I saw in the regular apt). She is the reason this review is more than 1 star. I considered switching to her from our regular vet but would not choose to after this terrible experience.

I think it’s wrong to blatantly lie and accuse someone of saying horrible things, and that’s why I’ve left this review.

Our First experience was today when we brought our cats in for checkups! What an amazing staff and Vet! Very compassionate and informative. My wife and I would recommend them anyone with pets! Thank you!

I brought my 2 little feline fur babies here for their first visit. I was totally impressed and thrilled from start to finish with Everyone there!

We got my cat here. They are everything you could want in a vet. Good environment, skillful staff, friendly place overall.

Awesome vet, they take great care of my Guinea pig otis, they always get him in fast for his nail clippings too. Great prices and very friendly and compassionate vets. Very happy I found this vet:)

My normal vet wasn't available for rat neuters, so they recommended Orchard and it was a great recommendation. My male rat had hormonal aggression, and they were very comfortable and knowledgeable about it and the neutering process. It was a comfort as small mammals under anesthesia is pretty risky. It was such an easy process, and everything went perfectly. My boy has now gone back to his cuddly self and back with his brothers. I'm so grateful for the care we were given.

Orchard Vet Care has been our go-to clinic for years, and we were excited to see them open their second location (nearer) to us! The new North clinic is fantastic - it's a great functional space, with high-class equipment and services, and we're excited to try out their new laser!

I cannot adequately describe how compassionate and caring the staff has been. Our first visit to the North location was to say goodbye to a beloved pet, and the staff at the clinic was amazing. The compassion room was near the back and quiet, and the staff was thoughtful, kind, and empathetic.

I bring my bearded dragon to this vet they are the best for reptiles in my experience they always go over my set up and diet at each visit make sure everything's good and they are very fair on pricing.

The level of care is outstanding and pricing is very fair if you compare clinic to clinic. The team at orchard has done numerous tooth extractions on our dog ad each time it has been a positive experience with excellent care instructions. If in doubt we always get a call allowing us to decide how to proceed. Would never hesitate to recommend.

One again, Dr. Orchard and her staff have exceeded all expectations. They were well aware of my dogs needs and quirks and were very willing to adjust their methods to suit his needs. The staff take the time needed to ensure their patients get the best care and answer any question with genuine attention. They never make you feel awkward. Thank you for taking such good care of my dog.

I cant say enough good things about this vet clinic and all it's Staff. They have taken great measures since covid to prevent shut down and interrupted services. I can't believe how many people don't realize what being in a pandemic means. Look around you the world has changed.

When my dog got into a porcupine on a Saturday afternoon they fit me in and the vet even stayed late to remove quills.

They are over worked and exhausted just like our front line hospital staff and many other people. How many people got pets durning the pandemic? Tons. How many new vets started practicing? Not enough.

I hope we never have to use unexpected vet time and resources again but if we do I know where we will go.

Took good care of my dog. They took the time to explain everything to me and answered all my questions.

Would not recommend. They will take a deposit, then not allow you into the clinic/appointment with your dog but they don't confirm this until they have your deposit. They expect you to leave your pet with strangers then not refund the deposit when you cancel over 24 hours to the appointment time. So I see it as theft, they took my money and provided no product nor service. This seems very unethical and unprofessional to me.

I recieved the best level of care for my boy and the staff are very knowledgeable. I cant thank them enough for everything they did for my family and our fur babies. They have amazing staff who comforted me when I had to say goodbye to my very sick boy. I am so greatful for Orchard Vet Care. Highly reccomend

Absolutely horrible customer service. No empathy or compassion shown what so ever for our situation. Been coming here for over two years and wrote down the wrong time for my appointment once. I didn’t receive a phone call or reminder which I usually do. I’m traveling in 3 days and my dog needs a health paper to be able to fly with me. The vet knew this and did nothing to try to accommodate us. Definitely do not recommend.

Luckily we found another vet who is kind enough to fit us in due to our urgent situation!

Knowledgeable and caring service. Willing to go over all options of care for your pet, with pros and cons for everything. And they love the pets they serve.

My pets (dogs and reptiles) and I have been visiting Orchard for years and I won't take my animals anywhere else. Everyone we've interacted with has been incredible- reception staff, vet techs, and vets themselves- always incredibly compassionate, caring, and easy to work with. The staff were all so wonderful. Had more than a few trips to visit. When I had to put my one kitty down they were soo wonderful with the whole thing. A very caring and pleasant atmosphere!
My roommate now goes there and loves them too. When she had a pet put down they did a card with the pet's paw prints on it for her.
