Everyone there is friendly and knowledgeable. It's our family's first and last stop for our fish supplies, and likely soon for a small lizard and supplies as well.

Amazing place. I have had to go there more than once in tears over random fish emergencies, and they have compassionately helped me every time. Couldn't ask for a better, more knowledgeable, personable place to go. Would give twice as many stars if there was the option!

All of the staff have been very helpful each time we visit and answer all of my silly questions as a first time snake owner. They are great at educating myself and my kids about all the different animals they have in the store!

Absolutely adore this store. Wonderful selection of creatures, vivariums, food and anything you could possibly need.
But the crowning jewel is the incredible staff with their amazing knowledge and insight. Completely honest and upfront. Never trying to up-sell or over-sell. Just decent honest people with A1 advice.
Literally couldn't advise Prairie Aquatics more.
Simply put it's the perfect store. Just perfect.
Also we have just paid to leave our crested Gecko with them for the long weekend. They took care of him like he is their own. He is a very happy lizard right now.

A nice store with well meaning staff minus a certain individual. The interaction with staff is generally professional until he inserts himself in to the conversation and chooses to ridicule rather than help. Purchased plants and was given specimens with black beard algae which then took over my tank. Baby tetras came with ick. Rasboras all had sunken bellies and curved spines. Was given a half dead catfish, and declined a refund while the same catfish were dead in their own tanks. Hoping this is just recurring bad luck. Store has a good selection of stock but I've honestly had better customer service and success with fish from big name stores than here.

They're amazing and have such knowledgeable staff! They have fish guys, snake and reptile guys, and tarantula/ Bug guys amd all actually know what they're talking about and know their creatures!

First time there, but had talked to them on the phone before. Very knowledgeable on phone and in person and helped educate me a lot as I setup a second tank at home.

The owner Stu is very willing to talk to anyone and offer his advice and opinions. He is very knowledgeable, but his personal opinions do get in the way of the service he provides in some cases. He has a very specific way that he feels aquariums should be kept. He also refuses to stock some fish based on his own feelings about them. Fair enough. The livestock and plants are quite good, though you must be careful because they will sell you fish from a tank with an Ich outbreak. Also, there are no prices marked on anything. Overall it's a good shop and i'll continue to go there for things.

Great help in getting setup, answering questions both in the store and calling in at the end of the day! Staff are very knowledgable and obviously care about the animals.

Been going there for 6 years, they have become family to me and my pets and i trust them entirely with everything! They also know their stuff around exotics and aquatic animals and whenevrr one is in abosulte need of something they are willing to figurd things out with you if i could id give them 100 stars

Have been trying to get a specific fish for some time now. I understand wanting to get fish to good homes but at least share the results of the test (since my at home tests are in the desired range) instead of ordering us back.again. I know it's my first time using your location but that doesn't mean I'm new to the hobby. Seems like a lot of newcomers are being turned away from the idea of fish keeping after coming here as well after reading some reviews.

Prarie aquatics always has friendly staff that knows what they are talking about. They can help you with absolutely anything you need. This busy little store is awesome

Their knowledge is bigger than the store itself! You don't feel like "another customer", they will spend time with you even if you are not going to make a purchase. They try to guide you in the correct way that suits your needs. That way you're buying what you need instead of what you think you need.

My boyfriend and I are just beginning with a fish tank. Brand new to the whole process! We were greeted by a thin person, no older than 25 and couldn't be younger than 18, with a snake around his neck. He asked us what we were looking for and explained our situation. Well he immediately jumped to being condescending and pretentious. He was not helpful at all and I know he could tell we were beginners. We left feeling confused and almost attacked. We will not be going back.

Very busy but staff was quick and helpful so I didn't have to stay for too long. No masks were worn by any staff or customers while I was there but hand sanitizer was available.

Went in to get some info on Bearded Dragons as my daughter and I are wanting to get one in the next few months. I didn't catch the girls name (we were there around 4: 30 on the 25th), but she was super helpful. She gave us an info sheet and drew out a map of how the enclosure should be set up. We had orginally wanted a baby, but after talking with her we will definitely adopt an older rescue!

Just awesome staff! They took the time to bring out a few neat reptiles to let my 2 young girls see up close and touch. We really enjoyed our experience visiting and will support with any exotic pet needs we have.

Nice little local pet shop. Deals in fresh and salt aquatics as well as herps. One of only a few independant shops lefts in town. Important to support these places!
