Ramada by Wyndham Emerald Park/Regina East

My family and I rented two joining rooms on December 27th for a fun Christmas get together for the kids. The rooms were booked two months in advance, I had the confirmation e-mail to prove it. Upon arrival I was told that they only had one room under my name. I showed them the confirmation e-mail, and they indicated that they did not have any joining rooms available. This was a disappointment as it was supposed to be part of the fun. However, they told us we could have two rooms side by side, and we were okay with that. (when i went to check out they charged me more for one of the rooms, saying it was because I booked it that day. Only after arguing about it with them that I was not paying EXTRA for their mistake, did he discount it almost to the same price as the other room - what a joke) We get to our rooms and the rooms were DIRTY. The sinks and counters were sticky and had stuck on food and dirt. We used the pull out couch for two of the kids to sleep on, and when opening it we found the sheets to be unchanged and DIRTY with old food in the sheets. We called down to the front desk and told them about the dirty couch bed, and asked for new sheets, two pillows and a blanket for the kids to sleep there. The woman told me that there was no extra sheets or blankets left in the hotel as it was at max capacity. A family member went down to the front desk to talk to them in person, as how could a hotel not have ANY extra blankets and sheets) he got down to the front desk and the woman was literally Stradling the man, did not get up even after they seen a customer standing there. It was discovered that her boyfriend worked there, but was not on shift at the time. My family member again asked for fresh sheets and blankets, in which they told him there was NO extra blankets in the entre hotel. Eventually, he got upset enough that she got up off her boyfriend, and she found sheets for him, and she brought them up to our room. She handed them to me (TOP SHEETS not fitted sheets for the mattress) then upon leaving they called us a derogatory name in their language, likely thinking we would not know what it meant. An hour later my daughter and niece went down to the lobby and a new lady was working at the desk. They asked for a blanket and the lady said "sure no problem! " and pulled one out from the completely full closet behind her. During our stay we also utilized the FILTHY brownish green lake water pool/ hot tub. Our kids had stepped on a dirty sanitary pad at the bottom of the pool, there was SO much dirt, debris, soap scum floating in the water. It was also ICE cold you could barely enjoy yourself. I cannot begin to even explain how disgusting the hot tub water was. The pool floor was disgusting. We went down for the breakfast, it was the same as the rest of the stay. Dirty/ empty/ eggshells in the eggs, meat undercooked.yuck. We did express our concerns to the new staff working that morning who stated there were other complaints regarding the night staff and they did appologize. However, then later I get an email that they charged another night to my credit card for the following night, and so even after I left I was still calling there having to reason with them. I stayed at this hotel a few times when it was first new and we had a good experience. I will never come back to this hotel, ever. The location is fine, but if i could give this hotel zero stars for cleanliness or customer service, I would. Save your money and stay elsewhere.

Ello, December 31 I checked in to Ramada emerald park Regina location around 9 pm, I rushed to the room, unpacked and headed to the pool with my children before it closed. When I got back to my room I wanted to bathe my kids and had a chance to look at the room. Right away I noticed the bathroom was dirty, the shower had what appeared to be shaven pubic hairs on the wall, the drain was clogged and water from the previous people that sat dirty wasn’t cleaned, there was a string of someone else’s floss at the bottom of the shower, and the floors were dirty. I then went to the bed to see if that was clean and immediately seen something was spilled on our top sheet and not washed out. Then, my 7 year old daughter brought me a pill she found and another one she stepped on on the carpet. With a 6 month old baby playing and putting things in his mouth, this lack of cleanliness couldve been terrible. I called the front desk asking if someone could come clean it, to be informed there’s no housekeeping on duty, and that she was here alone. She moved us to another room which was a very big inconvenience having to pack all of our things late at night and resituate in the new room. When we got to the new room I asked the staff to stay while I checked the bathroom. The second room was much cleaner however the bathroom was still very uncleanly. The bottom of the toilet was heavily soiled, corners of the floors dirty with dirt/hair etc. The staff apologized and informed me again that there’s no house keeping on duty and she was alone. I ended up cleaning the room myself.

I understand on this day many people come to hotels to party, however I am travelling across the country with two children alone for a family death over the holidays. I usually will stay at the atlas hotel or seven oaks if I ever have to travel through Regina. This being my first time at Wyndham I was appalled by the difference in cleanliness between the hotels. This hotel was jam packed, I was informed I had the last room available, yet there was no housekeeping in the hotel to keep the space clean.

In the am when I went to speak with the assistant manager, I was informed that she could offer me an offensive 15% discount for the terrible experience I had. I told her this was completely innapropriate for the troubles I had to go through to stay here. She told me she would send someone to look at the room and that was all she could do for me. I told her that I wasn’t happy with that and she said that she wouldn’t give me a discount at all then and to talk to her boss. She said I was being rude and walked away, however I was calm, not swearing, not being rude and just trying to explain this has been terrible for me.

She walked away from me and the male staff member that was standing there witnessing this apologized for her behaviour and tried said he understood what I was saying, was very kind and empathetic and tried to talk to the assistant manager to reason with her that this was not okay. When I cited that the drugs found in my room could have severely harmed my young baby and that this could’ve been something really terrible for the hotel she told me I was threatening her…. Bringing light to the seriousness of this is not a threat. The common areas of the hotel were gross, and did not stand a chance to be maintained with not one single house keeper, keeping the fully packed hotel clean throughout the evening.

The assistant manager said she will not give me a discount at all and to call her boss since the “solution” she offered wasn’t suffice for me. I asked her to come to look at the room with me so she could see I wasn’t trying to be difficult but that the hotel was in fact very dirty to see that 15% discount doesn’t come close to justifying my experience. She refused.

Terrible service! When I called to book a room I was told I couldn't book for one night, I would need to book two - even though the 2 friends I was meeting there had no problem booking only one night (we all booked within 24 hrs). When I told this to the clerk on the phone she said I'd still have to pay for two nights even if I was only staying for one. I asked to talk to the manager and she replied she was the manager. When I asked her name she hung up on me. I had to call Wyndham headquarters to book the one night I needed. What a headache!

The front desk staff were very pleasant and accommodating. Efficient as well.
Very easy to get back on highway.
We had a very good night's sleep.

Convenient location on Eastern outer edge of Regina on Hwy 1. Grocery, Tim Hortons, wand car wash, etc.on same or next lot. Friendly service. Good parking. Continental breakfast, gym, waterslide, Tuck shop (front desk store). All favourable.

Rooms ok, but not 100%, some missed areas. Pillows, bedspreads, and room overall a tad musty, tub drain slow to drain, pooling. Couches and chair upholstery ripped and stained in small areas.

For in our room 405 felt structurally unsoud. Is soft, moves and is very loud creaking. Couches were filthy, breakfast tables were not cleaned and kids running unsupervised all over. Won't be back

I love so much, if I get a chance I probably prefer to choose Ramada, I have an very good experience when I was working at Dubai

Hands down worst customer service I've seen in a hotel. We were put into a room that was smoked in. Upon inspection, the manager agreed to give us a different room. Somehow, after getting back to reception that room was booked and nothing else available. A partial refund that was promised to me by the manager was not processed in the morning but they offered me to pick up some chips at their market instead.

The hot items at breakfast were guarded by two of their employees and you aren't able to just take them. Clearly, this hotel is counting every dollar.

Needless, won't be back here and suggest you stay away too.

We stay over 75 nights a year in a Wyndham and I guess that mean nothing to this hotel. We get treated like we just walked in off the street.

They were very miserly! They gave cartoon plates in breakfast! I've never ever seen a hotel does that, where are their dishes? They don't want to be professional and provide dishes then clean them later. Besides, they were stingy in every service, even for towels, they gave us only one short towel when we went to the pool! I requested the guy stood there who distributed towels to have more, especially when we went out back to our room and passing by the main entrance it was chilly cold there, the guy refused to help or give us more, just one and short towel per swimmer. Come on! What a poor hospitality this hotel has! Never going to book at this one again. My advice to you, save your money and search for another hotel.

Would NOT recommend this hotel! Stayed here for a friend/family get together over a weekend. Rooms were not clean, beds seemed clean but sofa bed was not clean. Carpet in rooms had bandaids stuck on them among food and other things. Pool area was disgusting, water was murky, I stepped on a sliver of glass on the pool deck and had to dig that out once I got home. Complimentary breakfast was disgusting. French toast tasted like it was cooked and frozen a few times over. Staff at the front desk was helpful and good, but pool staff was grumpy.
Pool area was crowded the whole weekend, no pool towels.
It was just overall kind of a gross place to stay! Wouldn’t recommend it

Update - Since I had not heard back after our stay, I called the hotel Monday, November 21st to make them aware of the issue, they had someone go check the room and they called us back saying they found nothing. They proceeded to accuse us of getting the bed bug bites at another hotel we stayed at (this was the only hotel we stayed at on our trip lol). I have since reported the hotel to the Regina Health Unit and to Ramada's corporate head office. Steer clear of this poorly managed establishment!

Woke up on Saturday, November 19th with bed bug bites all over my chest and arms, extremely swollen and currently at a local hospital for treatment - Not happy, please contact me ASAP

Believe the poor reviews. No waterslide is worth staying here. The chlorine levels are bizarre. Rashes on kids, burning eyes - brutal. Also, the pool are is FILTHY. You seriously could not see your hand below the (murky green) waters surface. So gross - and so packed - always. I had called prior to staying there to ask about pool cleaning since some of the reviews mentioned the pool area being gross. They told me they mop after every guest. In 6 visits to the pool I saw a mop come out once for less than one minute. Around the same time someone puked on the waterslide stairs. One of the rooms in our group found things left in their room from a previous guest that was never cleaned out. The carpets are very stained. The tile in our room in front of the kitchenette was sticky the entire stay, so clearly had never been washed. Scotch tape covered holes in the wall. Empty kleenex never replaced. Recycling never removed from room. Anywhere you looked, it was dirty.

Now 'breakfast'. You stand in a line roughly 20 people long - picture a prison lunch line. When you approach the food (behind a half wall - guarded by staff), you get a paper plate. Upon asking for the pancakes and bacon, received 1 pancake and 1.5 slices of bacon, on this giant paper plate. It was comical, almost like they were food rationing and providing the absolute bare minimum. Not a fruit in sight. In the breakfast area, garbages were overflowing both days. Tables completely full. Its not breakfast, its a joke.

A piece of the wall had fallen off sometime in the hallway, and stayed propped against the floor the full 2 days we stayed there. Never fixed, never moved.

First of all, this wooden building has no privacy. You will notice what your neighbors are watching on the TV and their conversations. And the worst thing is that you will hear your upstairs going to the bathroom in the night. Bring your ear protection if you have to stay at this place.

The room was not properly cleaned. We found used shampoo in the bath. The carpet floor looks like deep cleaned at least a couple of years ago. Of course, there are lots of other's hairs here and there.

We went on January 1 which was a mistake. The size of the pool area is not proportionate to the volume the hotel can hold. They also permit non-guests to purchase a day pass. The pool area was overflowing. There is a bouncer at the door checking wristbands and since they are close to the hot tub they let you know when that is near capacity but aren't too concerned about 6 people going down the slides headfirst all at once. Someone puked on the stairs of the one waterslide and the employee drug a mop (without the bucket) across the floor to dry to clean it, was unsuccessful, so drug it hanging on the ground back across the deck of the pool again on their quest to find an alternate cleaning solution. That's when we left the pool. The water was also cloudy and mysteriously resembled swamp water.

Our rooms walls looked as if someone had sprayed beer all over them. The rugs were stained and ripped. I found some mini carrots in the fridge. The breakfast was previously frozen then over microwaved pancakes, bacon and sausage. I paid $200 for this room.

This used to be our favorite go-to hotel because it wasn't right in the city of regina, great staff, and clean and comfortable rooms and environment. We recently booked a room and were disappointed to see the there was garbage on the floor, an old pair of socks, hair on pillows and blankets, etc. They were kind enough to move us to a new room.only to have even more hair on pillows, dirty floor, etc. We have 2 babies who walk/crawl and cleanliness is a must for us as the kids are constantly on the ground playing. We then switched to the hotel by BPs in Emerald Park. Very disappointed, and I know management seemed disappointed with the cleaning staff.

Recently stayed here 2 nights too many with sports team. 1st off some rooms had bed bugs. Some beds sheets were full of hair. Secondly front desk staff were extremely ignorant and unwilling to accommodate the team for meeting room or lunch etc. Even though the room was said to be available for rental and it was not booked and vacant they would not let us rent it. They did not even give a reason. Last time we will stay here ever.

The pool was green and even though I brought it to their attention, they said it was fine and normal. You literally couldn't see people when they swam beneath the surface.

Great hotel, which I was here before but forgot. Saved it this time on my list of good hotels. Room was nice and spacious, and clean. Shower was good and had nice big tub. Had a sink and stove in room. Also we arrived last and booked room which was on 2nd floor but when I arrived I asked if we could change to first floor as we were traveling with my mother who's not well and has hard time to walk and they accommodated us with a room that had an access door to outside which was even better and easier for her. We asked for extra towels and blanket and got some right away. The service was excellent like last time I was here. Also beds are super comfortable and oillows as well, i had a wonderful sleep. I would recommend this hotel to anyone. Also another bonus, Tim Hortonss is just around the corner from the hotel!

Hotel is very nice but the personal hygiene of the room cleaning staff was so bad the whole floor smelled bad. After they cleaned our room we needed to leave the window open most of the day.

I am honestly shocked of positive ratings for this hotel.
The hotel is dated, unclean and really uncomfortable. My two children, nor I slept well and, in fact, my children asked to sleep in the same bed as me because the noise carrying from other rooms was unnerving to the point they couldn't sleep. I don't blame them.

Though there is signage outlining COVID-19 protocols, on October 21,2020, many of the social distancing protocols are nowhere near being practiced. This is another reason why staying here is so uncomfortable. I did try to share feedback with the front desk staff, but the couldn't have been less interested.

Bottom line, I was shocked at the discrepancy between the reviews and the experience on site. It is not a place I would spend another night and I would not recommend it.

The staff was very friendly and welcoming. The hotel was extremely clean. Check in and check out was a breeze. I would highly recommend this hotel.

Nice location. Appearance is nice. Fitness centre: both cardio machines broken. Took a while to get checked in. Room is decent. Weirdly small pillows? ! (Lol they're not normal sized) but they are comfy.

One of the most family friendly hotels I’ve stayed at! The pool and slides were SO MUCH FUN and the room we had was so accommodating to our family of 6! There were 2 double beds and one king and so we fit perfectly, double vanity and separate toilet even a small stove! Would def recommend if you have kids!

We stopped on here for the night on our way back from Ab. It was a last minute decision but it turned out to be a great experience. The room was a suite and was what we needed after 8 hours on the road. We didn't have a reservation and the front desk people were accomandatimg and gave us great service. The hotel was quiet and functional. Breakfast in the morning was complimentary and very nice. Choices were plenty and everything was fresh hit and tasty. Kudos to this chain of hotels!

We have been going here now for the past 3 years and have never had a problem. Service is always good and helpful if you have a question

I visited my friend who was staying for a few days. He really enjoyed his stay and I was really happy to see how accessible the room and bathroom were. They were up to date on service dog laws and was some of of the nicest staff I've met. The hotel itself is located right on the highway in emerald park just outside of Regina making the trip to the city very easy and quick. The roads are also very well maintained during the winter. If I didn't live here I would book a room here.

Awesome hotel great service minus the pool staff, they were rude and seemed too worry more about if you brought water down or pop instead of the kids going down in a train hurting each other and kids climbing up the water slide. I would probably never come back due too the pool situation in which that's all the kids really wanted too do

Check in was amazing. Phoned the staff to let them know my flight was going to be late to the hotel. Arriving at 3: 10am, the gentleman exhibited exemplary customer service and gave me half price off the night.

I left by 7am returning at 9pm to a room that had not been cleaned.

On checkout, Xavier tried to reverse the discounted night, expressed that he told the staff not to clean my room and then lied to my face. When challenged about his behaviour he exhibited passive aggressive behaviour by saying “I hope you enjoyed your free night”

For the record, one amazing and friendly night staffer exhibiting that wonderful SK friendliness and another jerk.

Great hotel for the price. Every room has a kitchenette. The workout room has free weights & there are 2 water slides that the kids will thoroughly enjoy. Free breakfast has a few hot options.

A very busy hotel! Very clean, although a bit too aggressive with cleaning. I didn't appreciate the staff mopping the front entrance while people were trying to pack vehicles and leave. I thought it to be dangerous with so many people walking in and out on a wet floor, and around cleaning staff. They felt like a nuisance.

Although the Ramada is fairly new, I found it had creaky floors. You could hear the kids on other floors running around and the the loud talking. While I paid 160.00 for one night I talked to other couples that paid 125.00. When I talked to the person at the desk at checkout she had an excuse for everything I said and shortly became annoyed with me. The pool is next to the entrance so it was very cold when going to or coming from the pool, it was -25 outside. There was very few places to plug your in vehicle.

It is in a good location, the rooms are nice and comfortable. Went there to enjoy the water slide with our grandchildren

Our kids love an evening at this hotel. So close to Regina, two waterslides, pool and toddler pool, perfect for all ages of kids. Morning breakfast is awesome, and everyone slept like logs! Great time.

Worst hotel I have ever stayed at! Stayed at this hotel for an atom hockey tournament being held in the area. Months in advance Over 15 families had booked rooms at this hotel and our team manager had emailed back and forth with the manager about setting up a room so we could eat as a team on a Friday night. When Friday came our manager went down to see what room we were to use for our supper and the very unprofessional and blatantly rude manager informed our team manager we did not have a room because she did not want too, or have anyone to clean it. We then proceeded to go back to our room and have all the players and families come to 1 room to grab some pizza and have supper. Shorty after that she came to the room as all the kids are sitting in the hallway eating and KICKED OUT 15 FAMILIES! At 6pm. Because we were eating in a god damn hallway! As a team! Because of their own incompetence in not having a room ready that we booked in advance! After reading reviews online I have noticed that this is not the first time this has happened to teams. After this experience with this manager and the Ramada chain of hotels I am willingly boycotting this hotel for the rest of my life. And I highly suggest you never book a room at this hotel for your family, or god forbid your hockey team, that at the end of the day just wanted to eat together, bond together and have some fun.

The rooms were a good size, and the pool was nice, clean and the kids loved the water slides. The break fast had many of options aswell.

If you have team or group of kids AVOID THIS HOTEL! If i could rate this place a correct rating it would be in the negatives based on customer service. It was friday at 6pm for a weekend hockey tournament booked way in advance. With a booking for a room to eat our team supper. Which was refused once we were there. Not because there wasnt space available. It was refused by the owner because she said she didnt have anyone to clean it after use. Which we as parents said we would clean up after our kids. Still a hard no. So we set the pizzas in the coaches room. Handed out pizza on napkins to the kids to eat quickly in the hall so we could get them all to the pool and out of the hall. It was minutes and the owner came to the hall. No warning was given just kicked out 15 families that were staying there for the weekend. She was not willing to make any compromise in any way shape or form. The owner kicked out 15 families all at once! We were welcomed with open arms and complete hospitality down the street at the Sleep Inn. Very highly recomend them. They took us all in when this pitiful establishment threw out all of our families.
