Terrible! Tiny off level spots, nowhere to hang a clothesline. Showers have no pressure n dirty. Firewood is insane $ and staff can’t count so you get kicked out early n their lack of counting skills ruins your holiday.

This was a tough one. This is apparently the longest continuously running campground in North America, never shutting down for any reason since 1927. It has some history, much like the rest of Moose Jaw. The campground is in a great location along the river, close to downtown (the pic was taken from the opposite side of the river). Most sites are serviced and there is a bathroom and shower building onsite. Sounds pretty good on a website.

The downsides were that the sites are quite close together, some separated by fence posts and chicken wire but still just enough room for an awning with a picnic table, a few lawn chairs and the fire pit/grill, nothing more. It is good for a short visit to Moose Jaw when you need to be there and have no place to stay. We were there for a week.

The staff are courteous and had our reservation ready with no issues and even left a map out for us on the office window highlighting our spot when we called earlier to let them know we wouldn't be there until after the office closed. It wasn't a problem, so that was great.

We had reserved a bundle of firewood too and when they brought it, I started to notice some of the cracks. The firewood was the worst, saddest pieces of garbage dug up from the bottom of the woodpile and didn't smell great when we burned it. They had no good wood left. I went to the Canadian Tire and bought twice as much for $15 per bundle.

The washrooms are not great. They are flush toilets and there is a shower (one because one was out of order the whole week). The inside is humid and mildewy, mostly made of concrete and not terribly clean, but I have seen a whole lot worse too! They were usable. Just isn't any air in there, especially after a couple of showers.no fresh air. On a 33 degree day.well, you can imagine.

Finally, there was a group of rowdy tenters that kept us up half the night for 3 nights in a row. We went to the office to complain but as far as I know, nothing was done. There is no one there after 9 so you're on your own.

It served its purpose, has a great location, but needs some work on the customer service front. Overall, it was a'ight.

Good location, only 3 minutes to downtown, but hard to find! They moved their office years ago and it hasn't been updated on any maps! Google, nor GPS, could find them! Also the name we had was completely different than what it actually was! Very frustrating! Once we got there, the site was barely wide enough for our trailer, so no room for any outside activities! Very disappointing. And they charged $55 a night! We won't be back!

We camped at Lorne Calvert campground for three nights. The sites are an ok size and accommodated our motorhome no problem. There isn't much privacy between sites, (needs a few more trees) but in the time we were there it was quiet. The campground is nice, has bathrooms and showers, and the staff is very friendly. Our site was a full service, price per night was what I expected. It is located in Wakamow Valley, a beautiful parkland with walking trails, lots of play areas for kids, you can rent kayaks and canoes. And the river runs through the park and past the campground on one side. The campground is close to downtown Moose Jaw. I would stay here again.

Quiet campground close to the highway but not too close that you can hear it. Clean sites and friendly staff.

Beautiful scenic park. Kayak and canoe rentals. Farmers market across from campground almost every weekend all Summer! TONS of local vendors & artists! Car shows too. Check DiscoverMooseJaw local events calendar so you don't miss out!

The park has its quirks and needs some love but overall is a fine place for a day or two.
*quiet
*needed extension to reach power pedestal
*lots of dead limbs in shrubbery

Pros: farmers market across the street. Close to trails. Close to Moose Jaw city center.
Cons: weeds are so tall you can’t get to river or even see the water. We were told they have problems with theft at campsites. Very basic, run down park. No, wi-fi, cable or 50 amp spots.

Clean quiet little campground on the edge of the city, stayed there a few times, quite nice indeed.
16 September 2022 18:45
Full services but set up very poorly, had to purchase an extension to be able to plug in to power, sewer drain next to fire pit and no garbage cans but the area is very pretty. It is located near industrial workings which can be a bit noisy at night.
Wifi would have been nice if available.
Unfortunately wasps are bad (cannot blame the
Campgrounds for that) two of our group were stung!
05 September 2022 16:44
Good location. Poor set up if you need Sewer, water and power though! The sewer drop is at the very back of the site close to the picnic area, while the electric is about the middle and the water is at the front. We had to back up on the grass and dump, then drive forward to set up. Not a big inconvenience but for 47.00, it is! Not sure all sites are like that but the 8-10 we looked at were‍️ And NO WIFI all for 47.00️

We arrived quite late but found our site easily. The location is lovely, right beside the river. However, there was a lot of noise from the refinery and multiple trains coming and going, both of which are quite close to the campground. The bathrooms were clean and the FREE shower was wonderful! We would consider staying again.

Nice campground overall. The grounds aren’t what you would call manicured but are kept clean and are quite acceptable. You frequently see site maintenance vehicles go by so they are clearly keeping an eye on things. Lots of trees and shade and lots of happy birds in the branches. Standard size RV sites. The trailer sewage dump for RV’s is way too far forward, but we just needed to drive a bit ahead when we were departing after 4 days to dump, so no problem really; either that or you would need a long sewage hose or an extension if you are the type that prefers to do constant dumping. Make sure you use your pressure regulator for fresh water intake as a neighbour forgot to use his and he blew his waterlines. We had no problem. Checked out the washrooms and they were very clean. The campground is right beside Moose Jaw so you are minutes away from anything you need, including touristy sightseeing. The staff were very pleasant. I would go back there no problem at all.

So this is now the Lorne Calvert Campground. I doubt he would be impressed with the mess. We booked a week, arrived to see the whole Campground full of dandelions that had gone to seed and grass a foot high. We won't be back and wouldn't recommend it to anybody else.

The park was easy to find. It is located just south of the city on River Road. There is pavement all the way until you arrive at the park. The interior roads are gravel. Signage is adequate. Check in was efficient and friendly. The rules are fairly basic.

Our site, 48, was a pull through that was just long enough for our Coach and Towed. Services (30 amp, and water only) were to the left side. Distancing is very poor for a rural park. Some sites had a vegetation barrier but very few serviced ones. Each site has a table and most have a fire pit. Our site was flat and even. Overall the park was pretty (many lilac bushes in bloom) but the grass needed to be cut badly. There was a lot of long grass that was tick infested. Our dog had two and I had three. All were discovered before they pierced any skin.

There is NO park included wifi or cable TV. We did not find any OTA TV. Satellite might be difficult because of the trees if you don’t have a portable dish. We did not use the washrooms or showers but we checked and found them clean.

There are trails from the park as well as Kayak and Canoe rentals on site.

There are no restaurants or stores within easy walking distance but just a short drive away you can find food, shopping and convenience stores. We found this park to be an okay overnighter. We paid $40.00 per night and we feel we received fair value. We will be back if in the area again only if the grass has been cut.

Decent. We had some issues with a trailer in our site when we got there but it's a nice little park
26 October 2021 14:52
Nice little place in an industrial area right on the river. Close to train, but not annoying. Very large treed sites, but little privacy between. Electrical water and sewer are all at the back of the lot, so make sure you have enough extensions. We stayed 2 days and enjoyed it.

Sorry, this was such a sad experience, We met our extended family for a long weekend, and as far as we could tell, no one was looking after the place: the young gals in the office were nice and kind but no one was listening to the parties that went on till 1 am, we had to finally get up and tell one of the groups to settle down, dogs barked at all hours -and even a lady in the washrooms building with two dogs. - claiming they would howl if she left them, and then later I saw a man walking those two dogs.:/. Quiet time? Nope. And there was a theft problem - again no one in charge paying attention to anything. We will NEVER go back there again. Do partiers think no one else in the campground can hear them? Go home and drink in your own yard. Very very disappointing place.

Lovely campground next to the Moose Jaw River. We had vehicle trouble and didn't know the town, the folks at the grounds were extremely friendly and helpful. Everyone right to the tow truck driver was nice, accommodating and made sure we could get on our way. 5 stars Moose Jaw thank you! We will be back

After deciding to support the Lions campground and winding our way through Moose Jaw we where very disappointed to see a sign saying "Saskatchewan residents Only". I do understand the concern of Covid
but at least post it on your website. It is not like it is convenient to get to pulling a big rig.
Hopefully some day we may be back as it looks like I would be a good place to stay.

This adorable campground nestled in the wakamow valley typifies my childhood.
It's clean, serene, green, and pristine. Enjoy the fresh air, rent a canoe and go out on the moose jaw river, get a burger at the burger cabin, have a campfire under the stars, and take the river boardwalk right into downtown Moose Jaw!
15 October 2019 16:50
Great camp ground and we stayed 3 nights, however the train yard nearby moved railroad cars most of the night so be prepared for the banging of the car's.
04 October 2019 12:54
Very well kept campground. Our site was clean, the grass was cut, no damage to the table and a fire/bbq pit. The washrooms were very clean with nothing hanging from the corners. Absolutely a place to go again
17 September 2019 14:23
Nice site within walking distance of a McDonalds, Tims and the giant Moose. All sites were concrete and pull through which is great when you've had a long drive and don't want to unhitch.

This USED to be a great campground
It is not taken care of and couldn’t be worse
We were there one year ago and we will not be back there
Walmart parking lot is better
Absolutely a terrible campground
So sad because it used to be so good

Nice little park on our travels. Right by the river. Clean and warm bath house. Train sounds at night but not too close.

Awesome place! Nothing extravagant but a great spot to rest. Very close to Moosejaw downtown has public bathrooms. Pet friendly.:)
27 August 2019 8:02
Excellent Campground on the Moose Jaw River. Showers, plenty of trees & shade, great for kids, & a super friendly staff! Just a few minutes walk to downtown attractions including the Tunnels of Moose Jaw and the Trolley. Recommend a stay if you're passing through!

Nice little campsite in the middle of town which was convenient for visiting friends and family in town. The odd bit of traffic but not too noisy. Campsite was a bit small but great price, especially with water and electrical hook ups. Bathrooms were clean and hot showers were a plus.
02 August 2019 22:26
Muddy in the rain. Good sites with all services available. Clean washrooms and free showers. A bit noisy if trains are shunting.
26 July 2019 14:47
Our site was almost on the road. It was a very small corner lot that appeared to be put into a site for extra income. I felt it an unsafe site all around. No real services or food accommodations where you had to leave the campground to get. The park itself is a thing of beauty
30 September 2018 20:28
Very nice little campground. This is our second time here and would go back again. It is a very quiet campground just outside of the city of Moose Jaw, minutes to everything. Wood was a decent price (sold by the Rubbermaid tub full, and brought to your campsite by the staff).
Check out was a bit early (noon), but they were gracious to give us a little more time to get out so we could make it to church and back.:)
The shower/bathroom facility was a bit dirty and stinky (hense the loss of a star), but the showers were large and free of charge!
The sites were nice, although our site was quite narrow for our large camper with slide, so make sure you ask for a larger site if you have a larger camper. The view of the river and trees was pretty. There is also a nice park and green space with bike/walking paths right beside the campground. Kayak/canoe rentals are also right next door.
I would recommend this campground for sure.

I love Wakamow and have stayed at the River Park Campground before. However this time we reserved a site and told them the length of our trailer and that we had extra wide glide outs so we needed a wider site. When we arrived the site they put us in was so narrow that once the steps are down for the trailer there is only 4ft of useable space left. At the back end is a fire pit in the middle of that 4ft space rendering it usless as it is much to close to our unit and that of our neighbor. There is no way the picnic table will go beside our unit and our awning extends over the edge of the site. The picnic table has to be placed in front of the trailer or part way into the next site. As a result there is hardly room to park our truck let alone a second vehicle. We asked to move to another site but we were told nothing was available but staff never even looked to see. Considering when we booked this reservation we were not given a site # and looking at the # of empty sites at the time we were checking in, if they wanted to take the time to look could have likely found a more suitable site for our unit with the same services. The 2 sites we asked to switch to were later given to a 19ft trailer and perhaps a 24ft unit much smaller than ours put into those very generous sized sites. 3 hours after checking in there are still larger sites sitting empty. It is clear staff does an extremely poor job of matching sites to the size of RV as larger units are trying to park into much smaller tighter sites. The staff did in no way try to address our concern and look to see if there was a more suitable site. Considering we were staying for the week they could have made the effort to look and see what they could do for us. It is that attitude that made us decide to do this review. In addition there are shared electric and water on the left of our site so to reach the connections to the camper the hose and extension cord has to run across the site and under the camper to the other side to hook up. We can place a mat over those to prevent tripping over them, it really isn't ideal but better than no water or electrical. They also planted Russian olives on both sides of the camp site and to anyone who knows how these shrubs are full of thorns and can scratch your unit as you try to squeeze in to a narrow or undersized site or scratch and stab you as you try to connect your unit and over time will grow large and make these sites even smaller. Not a wise choice of greenery to use as a way to create separation for campsites. This campground is located in a beautiful valley setting it is just a shame that if you don't get a suitable site for your unit so you can enjoy your site.
