Salvation Army

Normally I'd give this 4 stars due to some improvements definitely needed despite being better than many shelters I've previously been at (especiallywith the meals), including some also being Salvation Army, but due to some vengeful and therefore unfair raters I'm giving this location a 5 instead.

At the hospital I just went through trauma was assesed released I could have driven myself but for fear of passing out I didn't drive. The lady on 24hr line was so rude, not helpful at all I've never called a cab home with S. A? I don't know what info to give or anything? She gave zero help and was always saying what? What? Her accent and rude attitude was disheartening as I was looking for help. Eventually got it on 2nd call. Why be a telephone operator if all ur gonna be is rude as though I was taking up her time?

Some strange staff, usually a front desk female or two and guy into witchcraft and a front desk working female or two lusting, need to avoid some staff but top leadership, cleaners, cooks r good. Stay away until unless they clean it up for good. Try to find a real church that ministers to hungry, poor, n homeless without the religious system gov combined thing.u know.

This is the best place for the homeless & honestly really gives them a chance to lay thier head down & relax. They can also figure out what to do next in thier life! God Bless The Salvation Army! I don't know where I'd be right now if this place didn't exist for real!

I know it's a shelter but even for shelter standards it ranked low! Showed me the room and there were chicken bones on the floor, very disorganized staff, came back for dinner and a staff member was extremely unprofessional yelling at everybody for no reason. They told me I had to go to welfare and beg for money to stay there, yeah I'm not going to beg for money from welfare to stay in a shelter! I've stayed at lots of shelters all over Canada and I never heard of anything so ridiculous in my life! Considering it was covid times I was extremely uncomfortable that nobody even bothered to clean the room. Ended up just sleeping in my van. There was 0 social distance in the dorm room. Unacceptable for a agency that gets tons of funding from the government every year.

Tough the first week then it gets better. Good food though. Better then expected
