Gotta love that big screen Imax. The Science Centre has so much to offer for kids and adults alike.
07 December 2023 16:10
It was great in the '90s, and it's even better now. My kids had a great time. Even the playground outside is fun (and subtly educational).
07 November 2023 13:22
This place is a very cool experience overall and I highly recommend it to anyone especially family’s and kids. Always entertaining!
04 October 2023 10:15
Yesterday the Imax theatre was full and as always the movie was excellent and close to our hearts, set on the prairies “ Wings Over the Water”

I just encourage that the snacks offered be healthier as science also is about health, (salt on the popcorn and drinks 43 sugar yikes!)
20 September 2023 6:55
So beautiful, a very good experience, really not expensive, bringing children here will be absolutely amazing
11 September 2023 8:39
Bestest birthday experience! Huge smiles n' so much laughter. They had the kids having fun n' learning cool things.
23 July 2023 7:03
Very outdated and a lot of exhibits did not work at all or properly. Needs a big overhaul and update! There was also no one around to answer questions or interact with my children. Also the gift shop did not have a great selection considering all of the amazing experiments and science items that are available in the world. Would not recommend spending the money to go.
19 July 2023 8:59
Lots of parking easy to get to location in Wascana Park. Lots of activities for all ages. IMAX Theater on site. Ticket prices on par for movies within the city. As with most feeder concessions, the prices are way out of line for what you get. Oppenheimer is showing at the IMAX now.
11 June 2023 0:54
This place was super fun! We spent a long time here and all the interactive exhibits are great! There is something for everyone and it's a great place to hang out as a family. The kids LOVED it and it was definitely a highlight of our trip. We'd definitely be members if we were local.
03 June 2023 8:22
The Saskatchewan Science Centre is a great destination for both kids and adults alike. The exhibits are interactive and educational, making it an ideal place for a family outing or a group of friends looking for a fun and informative experience. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable, and the facility is well-maintained. The planetarium show and hands-on experiments are particularly enjoyable. Overall, the Saskatchewan Science Centre is a great place to spend some time and learn something new
02 June 2023 21:12
We took our kids, 10 and 8, and they had an OK time. Many of the exhibits are broken or partially work. For example, the tornado was broken when we arrived, we saw it get repaired, and it was broken again before we left. The stands for the shows are too small so we had to stand or sit on the floor. The presenter's mic wasn't working well so my kids couldn't really follow along.

All in all it's something to experience once or twice but for over $50 to get in I expected more. Save your money and go to the Royal Sask or RCMP museum.
16 April 2023 9:30
Super friendly staff and the museum itself is filled with several amazing displays. A perfect place for you to take your kids for an outing.
15 April 2023 11:21
This place hasn’t changed in 25 years they need a serious upgrade. A quarter of the displays did not work.
27 February 2023 11:34
I'm not sure how to rate my experience, as I visited as an adult - It's 100% geared towards small children (10 or younger), but I did want to see the interior as the building was a decommissioned hydro plant and I wanted to visit some of the historic structures in Regina.

If I had children in the city though, I would certainly bring them here. Variety of educational hands-on exhibits, very playground-like as another commenter remarked, and I liked the small "biozone" room with live animals (snakes, geckos, etc).
27 January 2023 18:47
Long overdue for some updating and way too expensive to still have the same exhibits they had when I went as a kid years ago.
21 October 2022 6:43
My children had a blast! There were afew things closed down due to renovations, but I still enjoyed myself. There are 3 shows a day, that are very informative and put in words children can understand. I will definitely be back with my family!
03 October 2022 22:01
Disappointed with our visit! Most of the exhibits weren’t open and the ones that were open, didn’t work properly.
The new Indigenous Ingenuity exhibit was not all functioning. Made for the interactive aspect of it awful.

The science centre is supposed to be geared for all ages, it clearly wasn’t. It was geared for the younger children.
27 September 2022 22:15
I’m from Alberta and been to the Science Centre in Calgary several times. I think this Science Centre is equal to it. They are just different from each other. I went with my 16 year old. We agreed that it was a place perfect for a ten year old. We still had fun reading and trying things in the exhibits. Our favourite area was the Indigenous area about work tools and lifestyle. I think going early meant more peace for us. We left when it started to get noisy. It’s great that the children were having so much fun.
15 September 2022 17:13
Lots to do. My kid was a little young to get the most out of it (2 1/2) but it was a nice way to spend the morning. Upgraded washrooms (pictured) were cool Will update review when new exhibits are open and renos are done next year. Thanks!
05 August 2022 8:00
You'd think a place claiming to be a science center would actually think about science. Silly place wouldn't let us in without wearing face diapers. I called the boss and left a message asking him to call me back. Instead he immediately calls security who confronted us in our car while we were leaving. What a horrible experience. I think their breathing barriers have destroyed their brain cells.
03 August 2022 18:59
Time to quit being mask nazis, weird that a science hall doesn't follow the science. You are complicit in the narrative that is causing mental illness in children!
27 July 2022 19:37
Disappointed nothing to see and pretty much nothing to see also they way over charge for what you get.
12 July 2022 18:01
This place has gone down hill. It was a waste of money for our family. We should have just played outside for free!
03 July 2022 3:09
I am very disappointed to see that they still have mandatory masking. This should be optional. This is a crime against all the children who want to fully enjoy the experience with their smiles on display. Shame on you
21 May 2022 17:13
This was a total waste of money. There were hardly any exhibits, and the ones that were there, 90% didn’t work. Staff was very friendly, but there was hardly anything for our kid to do.

I took my niece about 5 years ago and we had so much fun, there was so much to do and she loves it. I was very excited to take my kid and we were very disappointed at the state of it now.
17 May 2022 14:42
Super accommodating and friendly to my class of 29 fourth graders! Lots of fun things to explore - especially the Indigenous Inventions exhibit
11 May 2022 19:47
Absolutely ridiculous that they are still requiring masks! And when asked how the masking policy works they refuse to answer. How does forcing everyone including toddlers to mask protect others? If someone is immune compromised then they will wear a mask to protect themselves right? So why do healthy people have to mask as well? It's virtue signaling and nothing more! Absolutely disgusting to implement this especially onto children!
06 May 2022 6:51
Dirty, broken, out of date.overpriced. I have good memories of how this place was when it opened. Sadly it's a husk of its former incarnation. Everytime I come back I'm very disappointed.
04 May 2022 14:32
Took the kids this afternoon and it feels like 75% of the stuff is gone. Shouldn’t be charging full admission if there is nothing to do. Usually the kids are good for 3-4 hours of activities but after 45minutes it was hard to keep them interested in staying.
07 December 2021 4:07
Super lame. It was lacking everything. It seemed like they didn't care anymore. Barely anything interactive. Nothing new. Where's the live animals? Where's the fun. Cuz there wasn't any. Huge waste of money.
16 November 2021 12:57
Saskatchewan Science Center is an amazing place kids really enjoy even adults too. We got membership of Saskatchewan Science Center it's really worth paying that amount. You can go multiple times in a year. Every alternate month Science Center offers different exhibitions where we can enjoy and play. Right now video games theme is really interesting and it's enjoyable.
08 November 2021 20:33
Wish it would have been clearer that you are limited to a timeframe. We thought it was just a set arrival window, not that they would kick you out at the end. I guess that is on us, but still disappointing.

The first floor is useless, don't waste your time. Other floor were great, what we got to see of them.

The park outside is where we got our money's worth.
20 October 2021 13:32
Very educative and fun. The play structures are built to teach kids science. The Science Centre is around Wascana Park. There are lush open fields and bike tracks around. Good place to learn and relax.
15 October 2021 21:06
Really disappointing for the money you pay there isn't many things to do and what is there mostly doesn't work correctly. Also with the time slot thing there is to many people and people don't keep any distant. Won't be back.
06 October 2021 19:48
Kids and adult science experiments and different informative & learning experience for my family If I visited next time I will bring my daughter to this place
27 September 2021 23:25
The science centre was fantastic, there's a lot of great interactive displays and information. Big shout out to Abigail working in the technology area, she was awesome and made the experience one to remember!
21 September 2021 16:11
During this covid-era, summer 2021, they are limiting you to 75 minutes in the science center.

Honestly, it was underwhelming. Dated exhibits that were only mildly interactive at best. The hockey area and Kevin (I think that was his name) who demonstrated on how computer programming works, were easily the highlights of the day.

The joy lab is mostly good for photo opportunities and the Lego exhibit is a bunch of tall towers made from Lego that you can't touch with buckets of Lego on the tables.

For a family of 4, cost us around $75. That included the Imax presentation, Into Nature's Wild. It was great but only lasted 30 minutes.

All in all not an awful way to spend the day, but keep your expectations low and you won't be disappointed.
12 September 2021 12:28
Aside from the short (75m), pre-booked time-slots causing a bit of a rush through the centre, the exhibits and interactivity was amazing for kids. Our family looks forward to visiting again once more restrictions are lifted.
03 September 2021 1:41
I remember years ago there was much more hands on.and science. Not happy I paid a 100$ to take my family there for "180" exhibits and day of fun, for buckets of lego really. Nothing has changed in 15 years! Even the IMax movie was a bust. Paid additional 40$ for stale popcorn.

Come on Regina, you're better than that!
28 August 2021 18:04
Had a fun time at the Science Centre with my 2 year old niece. Very much appreciate that the mask requirement has been kept, would not have gone otherwise. Science FTW.
16 May 2021 3:05
I like the outdoor Ukrainian playground more than the indoor joylabs. Joylabs is totally different from what we imagined before we go, not much to do and enjoy. I don't think we will comeback here in future. Not recommended.
06 November 2020 23:18
Today my family and I went to the science centre and I have to say it was a major let down when you walk in and there is a handful of " photo booth" areas, 1 turtle in a pink paddle pool, a place with bubbles and iPad's that control balls! It literally took 20 min to get through and most of that time was standing on the social distancing stickers waiting to get to the next photo place which also required wearing a mask so our vacation photos are poop We also felt very rushed to get through it and it for sure was not worth the admission.
16 April 2020 4:46
We were in the city for the Hypothermic Half-Marathon and decided to visit the centre with our 2 year old.
As adults, there was plenty of interesting things to look at and learn, and our toddler was also engaged at every section.
Our favorite sections were the oTentik, hockey and the farm! Wonderful afternoon of discovery and learning!
09 March 2020 0:26
Lack of parking is a problem here, but could be resolved with additional visitor spots by the main entrance. Lots of cars were circling looking for a spot during normal operating hours.
06 March 2020 20:46
Superb place for young kids. Can learn a lot while having a fun. Staff is very friendly. But there is no map or guide to follow inside. 4 floors with exhibits. Admission is free for under 3 years old kids. $10 for seniors and $15 for general tickets.
13 February 2020 19:50
I've been coming here for 30+ years and the past decade I feel they have really stepped it up. While they keep some of the same awesome staples, they are always changing activities and have live demos so I still find it interesting and fun! If you haven't been check out adult science night, it is a perfect date night.
28 January 2020 20:41
Price would be more reasonable if you weren't paying admission for dust and filth. Don't get me wrong, I love the nostalgia of this place. Have gone many times over the years since back with elementary school trips. But now that I am a parent, comparing the cost with what is has to offer lately doesn't make me want to come back any time soon. For one, Why bother having a live animal room anymore?
Interactive exhibits need more maintenance so that the vibe isn't one screaming "you and your kids may get sick from touching this" Overall it's a better memory than reality- really hoping some TLC gets put into this place so it's brought back to its former glory.
28 January 2020 4:45
Fun science center with many interactive displays including home building, farming, plants and animals, hockey, human body, bubbles, space, and more. Multiple daily presentations such as space, static, etc. Some displays could use some upkeep, as they have obviously been well used.

Lunch and coat rooms, gift shop, decent number of benches and places to sit as kids play. No restaurant on site, so plan ahead for food. Outdoor playground, and a several structures inside to climb.
30 December 2019 7:04
Took my niece here and she loved it. I like that a lot of the exhibits are interactive so the kids can get involved and kind of learn by participating.

The other neat thing about this location is having the big theater attached. Makes for a nice afternoon with family.
09 December 2019 19:22
Loved our visit! Creative and innovative. Clean and well organized. Joy lab was a delight at every turn!
01 December 2019 17:33
The feature exhibit was pretty weak, aimed at selfie lovers. BUT most of the galleries were great! Easily spent 3 hours here and could have spent longer. A few things were out of order, but not a big deal with so much going on. Loved the bubble area, the agriculture area and seeing random animals around like the owl and the turtle. Didn’t go to an imax but that was a plus too! Parking was easy, close and free!
09 October 2019 16:11
Everything is old and broken! More than half the exhibits don't work. Really a sad excuse for a science center, especially when you travel a ways to come. I
30 September 2019 23:33
I’m torn on rating the science center. On one hand, there were a handful of exhibits that full engaged my children. These were the ball/grain loading combine exhibit, the construction house and the little indoor playground. These are all newer additions. However, the rest of the center seems out of date with old and worn down activities that were around when I was a young child, a large percentage of the exhibits are at least 20 years old. There is nothing enticing enough to encourage a return visit for at least another 5-10 years.
28 September 2019 8:14
12 September 2019 4:34
Always a fun place to take the kids and get out of the house. Also it's close to the park so can walk around the lake and enjoy some nature!
27 August 2019 10:19
This is a great place for kids to learn basic science, as well as some advanced science. However, on my visit this summer (July 2019), about 15% of items where out-of-order/not-fully-functional, either broken, or missing pieces.
If you're planning to go there, make sure to check their opening hours before visiting the place. They also have some shows through the day, so check the schedule of the shows as well. Also, be prepared to stay long; we spend 5.5 hours in the place the first time we went there! In July and August 2019, they have a exhibit called JoyLab! Don't miss it, it's gorgeous, and would definitely cheer you up!
20 July 2019 16:53
Bro, do it. It's a willy wonka house of science and technology. Absolutely brilliant experience and a great way to make learning, and the world, more interesting. I'd say it's a must see in this city.
09 December 2018 16:25
This place is great! Mainly if you have kids because the things are designed to growth the curiosity of kids and learn more about many areas: Biology, geology, physics, mathematics, etc. Is an obligate place to visit during your time in Regina!

BIRTHDAY PARTY REVIEW

Took my 5 year old son there for a safaris themed party. The term party is used VERY loosely, it was basically a hour and half school lesson. Really boring. First get there and host had a white smock that kids could colour on for birthday kid, this smock was big enough to fit me let alone my 40lb child. We threw that in the garbage when we got home. Then all kids were asked to sit at a table when host began showing them different animal skulls and their teeth, the kids were asked various questions that were to advanced for them. After that the host brought out a few animals for the kids to look and and touch if they wanted, host explained things about animal as kids were asked to keep seated and not talk.after this host started making ice cream and used liquid nitrogen to freeze it, she wouldn’t let my son (birthday boy) help with anything, even after he asked. I understand he can’t help with liquid nitrogen but all he asked was to put the sugar in. After that we had cake and presents then kids were sent home. They literally didn’t get up once from their chairs the entire time. Kids had admission to the centre after the party but 0 parents took advantage of that.

Pros
They supplied everything

Cons
Long time for kids to sit
No games
No science centre experience
Expensive
18 November 2018 11:25
Good place to take kids. But it really is just for kids. An education playground. If you have little ones, it's great for that purpose.
16 November 2018 22:25
Great place to bring the kids when visitinf the city. Lots to do to keep the kids entertained. But as an adult you notice quite a bit of the exhibits dont work. Could use some maintenace. But still fun and educational.
22 October 2018 9:47
Good to go there with the kids on a rainy day. It was all good and fun until we relized half of the exhibits don't work.
