Saskatoon Forestry Farm Park & Zoo

The people there were great. I needed an electric scooter for my wife with limited mobility and a wheel chair for my daughter. They had both. We enjoyed a great day at the park!

Second time to visit. We previously got the family pass & it was a breeze with admission this time. The birds are now back as compared to last May when they were kept due to the avian flu. The canteen & the monkey area is currently under construction which is a bummer since last time, we enjoyed watching the little monkeys. We loved the color of the changing trees! We took photos, picnicked under the tree. Oh the highlight of our visit was the prarie dog. They were so cute my family had fun interacting with them. The butterfly building seemed done but closed for the season. Unfortunately. The zoo is small compared to Calgary zoo but it’s not that bad since they’ve got many animals for the little ones as well. Porcupine, bald eagle, snowy owl, grizzly bear, elk, etc. Overall our visit was great! Would be coming back for more

Free to visit in the winter and beautiful with lots of open spaces and benches for families and a great playground.

A great day to visit when it’s cool outside animals were all very active and seem to be energetic which intrigued me

They had Dingoes out, and most animals were available to be viewed. Park was fantastic, so much fun for kids on the playground

A lot of the exhibits were empty and there wasn't a whole lot of places to sit down unless you say in the grass. No stroller rentals (because of COVID), so that kind of sucked. Other than that, the attendants we came into contact with were nice and eager to help out. It wasn't too busy so spacing between people wasn't an issue. The playground was awesome. We spent most of our time there with the kids.

Last time we were at the zoo was 2019, now that we have a 1.5 year old son we figured it would be great to show him around.

Nope it was such a waste of time and money. Most of the animals are not visible and a few fun exhibits are closed.

I wouldn’t recommend visiting at this time.

Nice, if fairly old, facilities. Not a ton of different animals, but the staff are great and if you support animal conservation and wildlife in general I'd recommend spending a day.

There are carefully maintained rustic paths for seeing the animals. Lots of trees, flowers, shrubs, ponds and amazing animals.

We were very disappointed in our latest visit as there were very few animals. Most exhibits were closed, a lot of the animals are gone. Not worth the money

It was a great place to bring the kids for the day. We were able to see most of the animals, and the lynx were even getting fed while we were there.

Absolutely love the forestry farm. All of it! The zoo and park. Only reason it's not 5 stars is that it's always in a constant state of construction. Always some minor inconvenience to either the walking route or parking, etc.

Nice place to go walking with family or friends. Cute critters as usual. (T. W.sometimes they leave out dead chicks around birds of prey enclosures so thats a bit gross)

It was hella warm out and most of the animals were inside, not at all blaming the zoo.
There were quite a few enclosures shut down for repair and what not maybe I should have done more research as I don't know if they post stuff like that online but it was still a very pleasant walk around.

I do not understand why we cannot bring in our own snacks or picnic lunches. At least half of the zoo is park and green space! There is only 1 cafe and it doesn't serve much for healthy options!

Let us bring in a bag lunch!

We vist the Forestry Farm at least once a year, I am so impressed with the improvements that have been happening!

Don’t go when it is too hot out. Nearly every animal was in their burrow/den staying out of the heat. There were also quite a few exhibits closed for maintenance.

It was just so so. I think it would be better if everything was open. However just go in with proper expectations…this doesn’t have Vancouver or Toronto level exhibits.

Perfect for a family adventure day. It's not the biggest zoo, but still a ton of activities and animals to explore.

Great place for kids to learn & play! They have an awesome playground in the zoo.lots of space for picnics & photos too.a great spot to spend time in the summer.

Not a good experience didn't see much at all the cages where to small for the animals it was very sad

Today the one bear was walking in a circle for the whole ten minutes we were there. We than walked to the monkeys and goats and came back and he was still doing this…

Beautiful parks, the zoo animals all looked healthy and happy. The kids loved the play centre in the middle of the zoo

There were animals. Some of them made funny noises until they were bought ice cream by their chaperones.

Was decent there doing renos and the one way paths leave some areas un accessible the new Glass enclosures are better then the chain link.

Your animals all look so sad and stressed. It would be nice to see more space given for your birds. It's crazy how I can go buy a drink and a snack but you don't have actual sinks to wash hands but portable toilet. It's gross to think hand sanitizer is supposed to be the way to go.ew. Washing hands is best.

Very nice and place to visit. You have to pay a ticket to get inside the zoo area but you can easily kill hours watching the animals

Great place to take the kids out for a walk. They do also have a concession stand where you can get ice cream along other treats.

Love love love the zoo. My son loves it too! The park is a wonderful added touch when parents need to take a break haha.

Love coming here to walk around with the family. Zoo and park are kept very clean and staff are always amazing to deal with. A lot of fun to have a BBQ with family and have the kids play in the playground. Definately recommend coming here for the day if you haven't before or it has been a while

Always a great time with a staff who take pride in their jobs. Animals are very active this time of the year everyone should go

It is a fun outing as a family. It's a nice walk around to the animals (mostly outdoors). Bring a stroller or you can rent there. In the summer, there is a trolley that makes a circuit to the further animal pens, which is a nice break for little legs. Technically, you're not allowed outside food, but I'd recommend bringing snacks anyway unless you want fries and popcorn. They have a new playground that is accessible and fun for kids, though be warned: it is centrally located and if your kids are playground magnets, you may not see much of the zoo. The zoo society occasionally hosts little learning activities (meet an animal sort of thing), that I'd recommended trying to take it.

Always love coming to the Forestry Farm. Great way to expose people to the beauty of the natural world. Hopefully it will inspire future generations to love our planet and the wildlife we are charged with protecting. Love coming here

You can't pet tigers here, bit you can see cougars and bears and they have a white buffalo and a goat that should be the first thing you see when you walk in hint hint.

Plan to spend a couple hours here! Lots to see and do. You can take your time and walk trails.or hop on a mini train and have your own personal tour guide. We did both. Some places you may want to walk up to that the train doesn't access. Lots of cool animals. The wolves, bears and red panda were our favorite. They also have an indoor slurpee, coffee shop. Make sure you take extra cash too for the gift shop. $$

A very nice zoo and a unique experience.it is free, donations accepted, in the winter, but after April 1st it is a paid, but they do bring more animals

Ok so it is a small city "zoo" and is priced according. The new playground is a great end or beginning to your adventure.

Never knew we could venture here in the winter! Warm weather hurry up so we can really go for a walk about!

We go see the lights almost every year. The kids love it, but most displays are the same every year. Still great to see the "awe" on the kids' faces.

The forestry farm is always an enjoyable place to visit. There is a good variety of animals, a number of interactive learning activities and play areas for children. During the winter months entrance is free, though the gift shop and food venue is closed.

We LOVE the forestry farm, its a great place to take the kids. Great opportunity to get active, get some fresh air and learn about different animals.

This year was the best loved all the new stuff n park thank you for such a great day at the zoo this summer my daycare kids had a blast.

The winter walk at the forestry is a great outing. It takes about half of an hour to go through the whole thing so if you're looking for a way to squeeze a 45 minute nap in for your baby this is a good way to accomplish that!
The grounds are maintained well and the route is quite scenic. 5/5

First time there. Decorations and themes totally awesome. If in Saskatoon at Xmas time, a definite must see.

Christmas Lights Drive is a good time and a great cause. Been through a couple times. We will always go when in town and it's on. Great show of lights.

Went to see the BHP Enchanted Forest Christmas display. This just gets better and better every year with the addition of new displays!

Loved the layout, loved the various exhibits and the way you can walk around at your own pace and in any direction you could want. My personal favorites were the mountain goats and the buffalos.

Kathleen, the instructor was very good with explaining about reptiles, intereacting with students and when a child gave an incorrect answer, she never made them feel ignorant.
