Smiley's Buffet and Catering

I’m amazed that this place averages 4 stars when for 2 people to sit down and eat it costs you almost $70 for food that was straight gross. Was in this restaurant for a total of 10 minutes, had about 7 different things on my plate. Every single one of them was dry, absolutely covered in salt, and lacking any other flavour. Even more stunned the waiter took the plate with 1 bite of out of everything, and didn’t ask if something was wrong. Horrible experience for $70. Next time I’ll spend $20 more and have meal at the keg. Absolutely disappointed

The food is okay when you need a quick meal. Seemed clean. Bright. Their donuts are like a cream puff without the cream. Nice and fresh today. A large variety of food and desserts. And a 3 choice ice cream machine. And slushy machine, if you like that. The restroom is modern. The booth was comfortable. My husband did not like the loud Christmas music.

Just had supper here with a friend. Haven’t been to this buffet in a long time but it used to be my favourite as a kid so I was excited.
When we got there the staff was okay but they were all very young and didn’t really say much. Very quiet and shy.
What disappointed me the most was the food options had significantly gone down. Most of the things they did have was bland or stale. The ice cream was the best part and that’s just a machine lmao.
Not the smilies I remember and definitely not worth the 30.00$. You’re better off going to Great Buffet of China.

There's lots of space in the banquet room. Felt at home away from home for our little family supper after an event. Lots of Gluten Free choices as well for the celiac family members.

Disappointed in the food at this restaurant in Saskatoon. It serves Chinese and Western cuisine but it was very evident that they were using cheap fillers. The chicken balls were made with over-processed pulverized chicken, not small chunks of meat. The mashed potatoes tasted like instant potatoes made with water instead of milk, and the fried rice was oily and made with undercooked frozen cubed vegetables. However the coconut bun was nice and my husband said the fried chicken was crisp and tasty but the ice cream at the end of the meal tasted like the machine had not been serviced in some time (soft serve that was very gritty). I saw a lot of wasted food on peoples plates being picked up by staff, who I must say were the best part of the experience. They were polite, attentive, and very prompt. They get 5 stars but the food only 2.

Food: A buffet service with a great variety of food to satisfy every type of palate. So far, they have the best Fried rice for my West-African-palate. The fact that you get to choose your preferred combo and quantity makes it even more appealing. There are lots of children-friendly dishes on the menu.

Service: Simply Superb!

Atmosphere: the ambience is relaxing for both adults and kids.

I enjoy eating here - the food stations are set up in a good fashion, it allows me to slide between them like a shark looking for more food. You have to remember, that sometimes I need to eat more than all you can eat:)

Sticky toffee pudding was surprisingly edible. The food was okay. The Dr. Pepper was mixed well. Service was reasonable. It's not the worst Smiley's experience ever.

I love the seafood on Fridays.such a nice variety, is well stocked, service is excellent. The price is well worth the product received.

Was there an hour before they closed and I asked if they were bringing out anymore of the special and was told no, alnd there was french fries. Shortly after that a worker from the back was going around

Quite a good buffet. Many gluten free options and some things can be specially made gluten free upon request like fried chicken. I was smiling when I left.

The food is ok.nothing to write home about that for sure. The staff was nice. The ladies behind what they call a sushi bar were rude. The choices for food are ok. The best part was probably the slushies and the coconut buns. I mean if you aren't a picky eater 23$ for all you can eat is a great deal

Out of the three times I’ve been here it’s been pretty good. Pizza is not my favourite but other than that I loved the other food! Definitely will be back when in town next

I was in Saskatoon to move my son home and we ate here before we left. Big variety of foods, staff was very friendly and the price for the buffet was just right.

Wasn't the best at the time I went, but definitely worth giving another try. Just don't like to have to pay before we see what they have

Food is awesome. But we will not be eating there again do to the price. It is way to high. How can a normal working person afford 22 bucks plus taxes, unrealistic prices.

Service was great and fast. The price was way too high. The quality of food was awful. The fries were way too salty. The chicken balls were hard as a rock and most things were bland. The sushi and dessert was the best part. Extremely disappointing. Not worth the price. Most exspensive buffet I have ever been to. Steaks were tender at least and clean bathrooms. Don't think I'll come back though. You have to pay upfront for a drink you may not even want. The lemon chicken had no lemon flavour at all.

The buffet is pretty big but the quality isn't great. The buffet is overpriced for what they serve.

Our family always books here for my grandpa's birthday. They are always super welcoming and helpful! The managers are super helpful. I was able to come in early to decorate in our own personal room as well. The food is great, be sure to try the chicken! The only downside is that there isn't very many vegetarian options. Although, staff are knowledgeable in what is vegetarian friendly which is always nice.

I enjoy dining out at smileys buffet. Rib night is my favourite night to go and eat there. I also like their deserts. The staff is courteous and they have managed to keep their business open and safe with regards to social distancing and Covid19.

Considering the times it was really good. I like that u pay up front and pop is included. Offerings were far better than asia buffets current offerings. I will definitely go back

A great place for lunch or supper. Has a senior price as well. Good selection of Chinese Vietnamese and Canadian. Looking forward to Easter weekend.

The food is amazing and huge portions! We had take out and loved every bite! My wife has celiacs so Gluten Free is a must. The chinese food is awesome!

We ordered the Gluten Free dinner for 4 and it was awesome! Highly recommend to my fellow Celiac sufferers!

Buffet was good. Had a personal server dish up what you asked for as you walked through the line. Friday was seafood day. Lots of shrimp choices, and several fish. Always good taste.

It’s what you expect from a buffet. It’s not anything that you would get for a fancy meal, it’s not anything that will leave you craving more, and it’s nothing special at all. There is a lot to choose from, but the wide variety of food kind of lowers the overall quality of each item, in my opinion.

It’s good enough for a filling meal, if you’re starving, but there isn’t much that makes me want to go back for more.

Decent prices, overall, and it’s not too bad, but it’s nothing special at all.

Great food and service. The restaurant was very clean and the food was very good. They have allot of staff serving from behind a counter to keep things safe with covid. It was a great experience and I highly recommend:)

Food is mediocre, but choices of fruits and desserts are plentiful. Coconut bun is my favourite.

Has always been a joy to visit this place. Such a wide variety of foods to eat and great choices for dessert as well. If you are visiting Saskatoon and you're up for some familiar or not so familiar food Smiley's is one of the two best places to visit beyond a doubt.

I’m pleasantly surprised with how good the food is! Price isn’t bad either, considering the variety. Will definitely come back when I’m in town next

16th Birthday party for the grandkid. 40+ folks. Phil & his staff did a fantastic job of looking after all our needs including supplying the sparkler for his cake. Food was great as always.

Saskatoon's Buffet has long been my favorite. It's too bad I can't eat gluten any more; it's really limited my choices there but I can still enjoy several things.

Smileys has the best chicken in Saskatoon. It's crispy and juicy inside. The place was full during supper time. SPS had alot of their members there in the conference room. I felt safe knowing their presence was there. Staff are friendly and will serve you right now. The price did go up per person not including the drinks. We went at supper time.
