Staybridge Suites Saskatoon - University, an IHG Hotel

We celebrated a family event at the Staybridge Suites Saskatoon - University recently, and would like to thank the team at this hotel for their hospitality and professionalism. From rooms to catering to banquet facilities, our experience was extremely positive. Great location for both locals and out-of-towners too. Special thanks to Mackenson and his team for taking care of many special requests during our weekend event!

We just finished a 5-day stay here while visiting friends.

Starting with the check-In. We showed up late on Thursday night and waiting over 30 minutes to check in. The gentleman was "in the bathroom" according to someone else that was on the "holiday inn side". We had our 4 and 3 year old children and 22lb hypoallergenic dog with us. I had booked a room with a king bed and a double-pull-out couch for the kids that was supposed to sleep 4.

We get to our room and it was nice and clean. Go to pull out the bed and its only a twin which was too small for 2 kids to sleep on together. One kid slept on the lounge part of the couch and one slept on the pull-out which required more sheets and pillow. When I called for another set, it promptly arrived within 10 minutes.

The king bed was very comfy as long as you were under the blankets. The air conditioner was set to 22°C and it was constantly blowing ice cold air right at the bed.

In the morning we went to have showers and there was only 3 towels (again supposed to sleep 4). Not enough plates for 4 people or cups or cutlery. Had to ask for another set and they gave us plastic cutlery and paper plates.

They failed to note that we had our dog with us so when we stopped in to ask for more towels, then told us about the extra charges which we gladly paid but it really should have been brought up during check in. During check in we were also asked if we wanted daily house-keeping which was supposed to include linens, and not once did anyone do that during the 5 days.

We had to ask for towels 4x (Friday morning as we were missing 1set), Saturday as we had showered the day before and again on Sunday at which point on Sunday my husband was annoyed because we had asked for them at 10 am and were told someone would be right up and so we waited. At noon he had to call down and ask again.

On checkout day (today), they locked the keycards out at 10am so while my husband was upstairs with our kids finishing up breakfast, he couldnt use the key card to get back in the room. Clearly in a hurry to get guests out asap on checkout day.

Overall, it's a decent hotel with a few amenities nearby and convenient to get to different areas of the city however based on my experience here, I will not be looking to book again here. I just felt like while they tried to make it "upscale" in some areas, the important things were missed such as offering daily linens/garbage and such and not following through even after specifically asking again and reconfirming on Saturday morning and then being told it's too late today, but tomorrow.and well, it just never happened.

The staff were always pleasant and courteous but think its a management issue.

The other weird thing was that they take away the coffee and such right at closing time for the breakfast while the holiday inn side leaves it out for guests.

Lovely hotel with very attentive staff. Great view in the dining area and the happy hour is a nice bonus.

Beautiful facility, could use another elevator bank to accommodate the traffic during busy times.

We had been displaced by a house fire and was dealing with a continuous medical prognosis when placed here at the Staybridge we were immediately pleased with it's central location and proximity to areas where we will be having many appointments. We made fast associations with management and staff. The staff is very pleasant and friendly. The morning breakfast and social are very convenient and off set expenses and we very much appreciate having it's availability. We've come to appreciate the friendships and the relationships between other occupants who also are dealing with similar life challenges. Thanks to Barry and Anntonia and staff members Surma, Chetalle, Nishook, Brikash, Sandy for always going above and beyond to field our requests. It's not home but it is comfortable and easy going. Kudos to everyone.

Problem from booking thru 3rd party site resolved by Mikayla and manager. Only issue is price if booking direct.

A great place to stay, especially if you are visiting the light source (CLS) and/or in a group. Very nice rooms that are well stocked with cooking supplies and kitchen ware. The breakfast is very generous and quite good. Staff was friendly and helpful.

Rooms are pretty decent. Service varies depending on what aspect you're looking at. Cleaning services can be improved. Front desk are very helpful.

I stayed at Staybridge because of close proximity to the vet hospital. They provide complimentary breakfast. Rooms are clean and their are kitchenettes. There is a special rate regarding pet stays. I do recommend this hotel.

I am a IHG member I stay at least 5 hotel rooms in 2 week period. IHG has rules according to thier types of membership. If you stay as a Diamond membership you receive immediate upgrade. I was told because I booked 3rd party I do not recieve an upgrade. I have booked hundreds of hotel rooms under the same booking process. Not once have I not received an upgrade. The hotel was not busy and I was not satisfied with the room being ultra small not offered free breakfast. The hotel down town for holiday inn is much nicer and the staff made me feel comfortable with a change in room when asked the staff at staybridge good luck I also payed 40 dollars extra for poor service and a cold front staff. I will stay at downtown from now on. Should be called Stayaway Bridge.

Well they have a cool service at 530 for Staybridge Guests for an appetizer and a cool drink. The person serving the wine is super stingy and your lucky if you get any.
Not worth going.

I was so happy with this hotel. I brought my kitten for medical treatment at the Vet College and was so grateful for this space. Having a suite meant I had a kitchen and the ability to buy groceries instead of always having to eat out. They were so pet friendly. Appetizer nights 3 nights a week, plus free breakfast. The gym was clean. Only downside was the hot tub was out of service the whole time I was there and it was -30 out.

I give it 4.5 stars! Great stay, very clean. Great food. Beds are super comfy, our sleep was amazing, they did not have cots or extra beds, but can proved extra blankets, also a crib if needed. They have a great pancake maker, amazing complimentary breakfast. Staff were very helpful and welcoming. Reason for 4.5 stars was because the pool was closed during our stay and our daughters love swimming. We had to go find a different place to go swimming. Other than that, will definitely recommend to stay here. Hotel is in a great area, close to main roads. Will stay again.

Staff work really hard to ensure that you have everything you need. When coming to Saskatoon, we don't even consider staying somewhere else. Staybridge meets all of our needs.

Ive been at this hotel once a week for the last 8 week and custumer service is amazing. Wanna say a special thanks you to Matt at the front desk he is doing a wonderfull job.i will recommende that hotel anyone great service and price as well.

Great hotel with great views. Friendly staff, great amnesty, good breakfast with great timings. Gym and poool open. Free laundry service which is a bonus. Full kitchen equipped with everything except oil and food lol. Highly recommend. Great views

Best hotel everrrrr! Staff are amazing, especially the breakfast staff. Now they just need a waterslide.

Very poor customer service. Had issues before we even checked in and the staff was NOT accommodating at all. Very frustrating start to our stay in Saskatoon but once we got into the room it was great.

Always stay here when in Saskatoon. Easy access to the city. Affordable rooms, right by the University, continental breakfast, good parking. Pool. Super friendly staff.
Good place to stay.

We had stayed here for 2 weeks and the day of check out they turned our power off at 9am so we couldn't get ready to leave. So we just left. Who knows why they did that but that was inconsiderate of them.

Clean, and the kitchen in the room meant we were self-sufficient. The pool was clean and the perfect temperature for playing with our kid.

A clean and friendly hotel. The rooms are comfortable and the staff friendly. This was a great stay for the 5 of us on a family trip.

OMG. I love this place. Staff are so nice and helpful. I was their from out of town to get my pet into the hospital. It was two days that I wished wouldn't end. It cost 120 for a king bed suite. It is shared with holiday inn but I stayed on the stay bridge side. They has new dishes and glass top stove. And full size fridge, freezer.king bed with pull out sofa and sitting area. Nice tv that I was able to hook my laptop to cause it has the original tv remote to change inputs on. And a bathtub with shower.very clean also, and I really looked everywhere. The pool and hot tub was clean and very new. The pool is heated and is warmer than most hotel pools. And hot tub is quite hot.and open from Very early till 11pm.exercise room is 24 hrs and well kept. They had breakfast but also invited all guests up to 9th floor for a free diner which we took back to our room but wow what a view. Floor to ceiling windows on 9th floor as the sun goes down while having diner and coffer. Just wow. I've stayed at 500 a night hotels and not enjoyed it as much or felt as welcome. I wish I could afford to stay at hotels more often. I will be back as soon as I can. They make me want to visit saskatoon more. If only there were more to do there. My thanks to the guy at the front for being so helpful. Best staff ever. He's the one who has the cat also.
