If I could give Sukanen another 5 stars I would. Yesterday was the first time I visited and I was in my glory. I absolutely love old cars and tractors! I loved the parade of antique cars. Brought back memories of going to car shows with my dad. I was glued to my seat watching the antique tractors in the tractor pull. It was awesome to step back in time to a simpler time and pretend to be there with everyone. I am looking forward to coming for a long time to come. Thank you for putting on such an awesome display of history. The volunteers deserve a huge hand for putting on such a disply

Sukanen Ship Pioneer Museum provides a nostalgic walk down memory lane for seniors while serving as an educational venue for the younger generations. Preservation of the past maintains that visual reminder of our heritage and the museum definitely demonstrates the commitment towards ensuring this opportunity remains ongoing.

Wonderful place to visit, nice to spend my money at a non-profit place and not a business. Will be returning in future!

A little run down but the volunteers do the best job they can to keep it looked after. Well worth the price of admission to walk around and check out all the interesting exhibits

A lovely pioneer museum about 15 minutes ish straight south of Moose Jaw. A great way to spend either a day or half day visiting the past. Plan on several hours as it is an outdoor musuem has has 50 plus buildings including an orginal grain elevator. Complete your stay by bringing a picnic lunch and enjoy the beautiful prairie views. If you have time plan on several visits.

The buildings were interesting and in reasonably good condition. Not a lot of information or signage was up to explain most of the ample exhibits. It is a nice place to complement a visit to the Western Development Museum. Decent value for the price of admission though definitely plan 2 hours to see everything.

Really neat little faux-village style museum. It's neat getting to walk around the open air setting and check out all the different things in the buildings. It's even cooler when you find out about Tom Sukanen, the namesake of the museum. Lots of history in this place, and an affordable entrance fee, make it worth the drive.

Great museum to see and understand early Saskatchewan settling. Great village display of nearly 20 businesses, antique cars, trucks, tractors and farm machinery

So much fun! Be prepared to spend a long time here. 3 hours roughly, to actually enjoy everything. A lot of interesting artifacts, information and tons of vintage vehicles! Worth checking out!

WOW! WOW! WOW!

Okay where do I even begin?

First off.this place is MASSIVE I spent 4 hours and basically did a speed walk through the entire complex and I'm sure I didn't even get to see everything. Bring your walking shoes.

Second, I find most museums are either interpretive, or instructive. This is a bit of both. The documentation on some items is incredible, while others are left for appreciation as is. There is a good balance here.

Third, remember I said the place is massive? Well it's not empty. They have just about everything except a Saturn 5 rocket. If it was made with pride and quality they probably have it some where on site. There is something for everyone here.

Forth, you can see the pride that has been taken here. It's more than just a stuffy museum trying to show off its wares. Most items on display aren't protected with laser sensored alarms, there isn't bullet proof glass and fancy displays. They work with what they have. The expense is put towards the collection itself. They don't have big clean rooms to pull things apart and scrutinize at a forensic level. Many items are just as you might put them out in your own home, on an end table or a shelf in the kitchen. Some engines things are being restored on the spot for you to see how it's done. This seems to all be volunteer run and you can see the folks that do this make sure that it does more than just show well. They don't make it nice they make it great!

I need to go back because I just wasn't prepared for the completeness of this place.

5 stars.if I could I'd tack on another star it's that good.

I took well over 200 photos out there but I'll post this one because I love the copper ceiling.

Such a cool little spot south of Moose Jaw. Worth the time to poke around. I was in a bit of hurry when I stopped. Would have loved to spend more time.

They say that they are open Saturday but they are not. Too bad. I hope others read this and call before they waste their day.

It gives the impression that they will take any buildings or artifacts without any plan about conservation. Although an impressive collection I am concerned that most of it, especially the buildings, will deteriorate quickly. Most of the artifacts are piled together without any consideration to time frames, and with little information posted. It gives the impression of a private collection that others are allowed to walk through.

Awesome time. Plan on spending most of the day because there is so much to see. The detail is amazing. Wonderful job. Hats off to everyone involved.

Such a wonderful museum that takes you back in time. I highly recommend visiting it. There is just so much to see! In September they have a Threshing Bee where you can witness farming from yesteryear as well. A great place for the entire family!
