Waited in the room for over 3 hours. No nurse, no doctor. Completely unacknowledged. When I asked when my mom would be seen they were annoyed and unfriendly. Complete joke

Yorkton Hospital is a JOKE, their wait times in the emergency room is a complete nightmare. Don’t come here if you are dying because you’ll probably die waiting to see the doctor. I understand putting critical patients before some, but to sit for HOURS when there is no doctor available at the walk-in, is ridiculous

Racism is rampant. They remove skilled Asian or African doctors and replace them with white south African doctors

The waiting time in emergency is so high and even after waiting almost 4 to 5 hours the service is not good.

Ive never seen such a useless "hospital" in all my life. No one knows anything. Fr the front to the back. Most of the staff are terrified to even 'color within the lines' - let alone know where any lines even are and openingly admit they dont know 'especially on a sunday'. -direct quote fr an ICU staff member.

As if the day of the week should chg your understanding of your job whatsoever. I asked to speak with a Patient Advisor; i get transferred randomly to the ICU floor (who probably outta know what a patient advisor is since thats likely where theyd be called on the most often for family members or patients in crisis- right?) Nope, never ever heard of the term.nothing to offer.and said "no ones here like that; especially on a sunday. "

Firstly, how on earth would someone who works in ICU or a switchboard not know what a patient advisor is? Secondly, why would a day in the week chg anything in a hospital that has 24hr 7day a week staffing in the most busy and aptly staffed dept - matter what day it is? And lastly, why on early wouldnt front reception or the ICU ward know what a patient advisor is or isnt?
Im not sure which is worse: that multiple staff/depts dont know what they are or do? Or that they dont have them there?

Both are equally tragic.

To send a mother away to have a baby on the street? Disgusting! Do better! This is where my tax money is going to, to nurses and doctors who just turn people away, its part of your job.

I went to ER with my 4 year old boy and had to spend the night there. I need to say that all staff was nice and kind, you can tell they're busy and there is an overwhelming amount of patient yet they're doing their best and being very caring and professional. I really appreciate what they did for our family and my little boy. Thank you to nurses and doctors and staff for your hard work.

The nurses are all amazing professionals but the doctors need to be replaced they seem to be preoccupied with themselves rather then there patience

I spend 5 hours just waiting for the doctor in the emergency so If you are dying DON’T GO TO THIS HOSPITAL!

Worst place
Worst emergency staff
Worst treatment
Worst hospital
The word hospital is not what describes this place
It’s a place where staff just do time pass and keep playing with phones in emergency.

My one year old was having high fever
Went there in emergency we were told to wait for 3 hours we did wait there and after 3 hours I asked a nurse in emergency still how long will it take she told more 6 hours, my baby was crying with high fever. But the very well paid nurse told me we are busy no rooms are available and there was a vacant room right beside, so basically she was lying, I waited there for a while inside the emergency, and saw the nurses got buys in there talks sharing jokes and giggling.
Good Job keep it up.
I will suggest them to close the hospital work and make it a time pass centre.
Out of 10 rating I will give them -10

I went to the emergency for sharp lower back pain while being 11 weeks pregnant. I told the nurses I called the health line this morning, and the nurse suggested I go see a doctor. I came here and waited in the waiting room for about 2 hours. Once I finally got a room, no one came to check up on me or inform me what was going on. I've never got my blood pressure done yet, nothing.it's been more than 3 hours since I waited in this room. I moved here to Yorkton from Saskatoon. I have never experienced this before.

I went to the emergency room around 1 in the morning suffering from a severe allergic reaction to a medication. The Drs.and nurses were highly professional and caring. They all went above and beyond to help me. Thank you all for the excellent health care.

Came here for bloodwork was told to wait in the hallway and I'd be seen. After over an hour and everyone else being seen we inquired and it turns out we weren't even in the queue line. Her response was a laugh I confronted her on the poor setup and that you people need to communicate better to which the woman scoffed at me. Would recommend driving to Regina to be seen by civilized people if you have any immediate issues.

I had gallbladder removal here. My surgery was the first one of the morning and they were fairly prompt. All the staff I encountered that day were kind and knowledgeable. The hospital could definitely use an update. And I could’ve used a bit more information on what to do and to expect when recovering at home. But overall my experience was fairly good.

Hospital is OLD wide open areas.can walk from outside to the nursery like nothing. Doctors wearing regular clothes to check on patients, nurses still wearing there coats coming from outside/smoke breaks etc. If you can go to Regina! I wish we did.

We have had both of our kids delivered at this hospital and have had great experiences each time. While the hospital is aging and the infrastructure needs an update, it's not enough to change our entire experience. The nurses and staff were really friendly and knowledgeable, and we were very satisfied with our overall care. The food is also really good, and the cafeteria ladies are awesome. If you want to deliver in a very modern, picture perfect hospital, yorkton doesn't really offer that, but for the facility available they do a pretty good job.

The staff were very helpful, knowledgeable and friendly and do a great job in sometimes difficult situations. Thanks for all your hard work and creating a pleasant environment.

Just had my baby here and can't say enough about the great staff at the hospital. Everyone was amazing. The down side was the maternity ward had rusty shower curtain hooks along with a rusted missing grab bar in the shower. The best part was we got to pay 65 bucks a day for a private room and it didn't have hot water. The 60 year old tiles on the floor for sure have asbestos along with the ducting and they fix roof leaks with a bucket. Classy place. You will see all this in the photos I posted. Hopefully other people will see this and bring it to the attention to the person or department in charge. Who ever is doing it now should get to work and change some stuff in this place. I'm extremely disappointed in the state of this hospital.

Even the cover page, for the Yorkton hospital, shows the reverse picture of a strip mall across the street, of the dr’s office and a pharmacy.

Problem I found, is that I was in the surgery section of the hospital, and I had to deal with very young nurses. They had no idea what the procedure was. I tried to teach the embryos. One had not even been working there for one year, the other was 13 months. I had to explain the procedure to them, and what to do. Asked for charge nurse, but he/she was not available. I know who works there, so no names mentioned. They kinda giggled at my advice, because they had “Graduitis”.

I spent more time in an ICU; emergency room, CCU, etc.or general care wards, than these kids had hot meals. In 3 different countries. I’ll even throw in the doctorate credibility.

The little girl really didn’t like me after 2 days. Not her fault. Bad fostering and nurturing.ya, go to Regina, cause the kids here don’t listen. Shame on the charge nurse for not showing up. Oh! It was weekend! 3 charge nurses. 2 working nurses. I think that they have gotten a little to big for their britches.
