The Berry Barn

Me and my partner came for breakfast and it was our first time. It was a buffet since it was Sunday and it was very mediocre and not a lot of selection, food wasn’t super hot either, warm/cold. For 2 people and 2 coffees our bill came to $85. We were both shocked. Definitely not worth people driving out that way and paying that price. There’s a lot of better breakfast spots to go to in Saskatoon that are a way more worth you while and $$

If you have a chance, a visit will not disappoint!

Beautiful country setting along the river with great views and great food! Great gift shop with home cooked food and baked goods. Great souvenirs too!

I can't wait to go back when I am in Saskatoon again.

And don't forget to pet the dogs!

Great place for four seasons; for each, we found a brilliant view, friendly staff, and a restaurant pleasant choice for Sunday brunch! Even though it has not had various options for a meal, waffles with local jams are a fabulous dessert!

Very disappointed. We couldn't eat and go to the petting zoo due to parking issues. It was so full that people were parking in the ditch, but I couldn't do that because I have a small, old car that would get stuck. We even came 1 hour early before the petting zoo started. In the end, we just ended up leaving. Very disappointed. We drove 1 hour total today for nothing.

Maybe next time, they should figure out a way to organize parking, especially if they are hosting an event that many people would attend.

Have had more than one bad experience at the Berry Barn in recent years. The food for starters is not up to par. The burgers are greasy and sloppy and made me and my partner fairly unwell. The fries taste fairly ok but that’s about it. The Ciabatta sandwiches are soggy and disgusting and were inedible. Furthermore many hygiene policies are breached in terms of their baking and how it’s stored. I’ve witnessed several flies roaming the baking cabinet walking all over the Canolis which made me sick to my stomach. They then also have the nerve to charge $4 plus tax for fly infested food. The only thing worse than the food is the complete disregard for customer needs or respect for that matter. The staff are rude, aggressive and see customers as nothing more than a money source. They are unhelpful and are not willing to enhance the “berry barn” experience. In addition to this, Wi-Fi is not available unlike it is in 90% of modern day restaurants in the world which in itself is frustrating for any youth. For some reason they also think it’s appropriate to charge $0.75 + tax for a cup of mayonnaise which shocked me. The ketchup is of course a cheap brand and the effort just isn’t there. This leads to an ultimately disappointing experience. The Staff need a real lesson on customer service and satisfaction as it’s clear they want you to come and go as soon as possible to get the next lot of victims in. Overall, the Saskatoon Betty Barn is a disappointment and it’s reputation has gone downhill in the recent years. The owner is a selfish woman who I saw taking up a table of 6 on her own last year whilst a queue was lined outside the door. The staff ignore customer needs and fail to provide simple services, the food is below fast food standard yet it’s 5 times the price. Many hygiene protocols have been breached and is worth reporting. We will not be back. To the owner: please don’t reply with another phone response unless it is genuine, I’ve seen dozens of your fake and robotic replies to other unhappy customers. I’m not looking for compensation.

10/10 for the 3 Bernese mountain dogs there. Would pet again. But on a serious note, lovely place with a great atmosphere and the restaurant was really nice and food was awesome.

The food safety protocols and the needs of the costumers are not being met at this famous Saskatoon’s breakfast restaurant. We asked for a vegetarian Classic Breakfast Meal without bacon nor sausages in hopes to receive a meal in which my family could eat without the worries of contamination. We soon found pieces of BACON within our hash browns when we SPECIFICALLY asked for no MEAT. This is a breach of the food safety protocol that ALL restaurants HAVE to follow.

You would expect for the managing staff to apologize. We did not see that hospitality rather rudeness and ignorance to their mistakes while telling us to leave the premise when we were advocating for our rights. They did not consider our point of view and had a "whatever" type of attitude. OUR NEEDS and OUR RIGHTS were ignored and disregard as a Muslim family. OUR RIGHTS were thrown under the carpet and they made us PAY for a meal we didn’t even finish.

Is this what we call respect to all costumers? A worker even mentioned that the berry barn also receives many people of “our nationality. ” Casual racism and no means of respect? No apologies or remorse for their mistake? This, more than ever, shows the absolute nonchalant attitude they have towards costumers and their diverse needs.

We found bacon in one plate and then soon discovered them in ALL FOUR meals. How can this be a coincidence? Completely disgusted and extremely disappointed in their lack of empathy towards costumers. I would give them zero stars if possible.

I URGE all of you, especially those who have the dietary needs to reconsider your trip to The Berry Barn.

Food is always excellent

The atmosphere was stuffy, considering we were outside
Disappointing to say the least, as this was to be a celebratory breakfast

Hopefully, things change in the future to a welcoming, non-judgmental wait staff

Had a reservation for breakfast this morning with my family.

Waffle bar was fine, nothing special. Waffle bar was very mediocre, with a few fruit sauces and whip.

Our service was really great - very polite and fast.

Not impressed with the “no stroller” rule. I certainly understand space is limited, however, the place is cramped full with junky items. I also wonder, if a stroller cannot navigate around the Berry Barn, how would a wheelchair? I still complied with no complaints. I was further frustrated when the server stated she could not seat us until our entire party had arrived. I have never heard of a restaurant doing this, and we had a reservation? So I had to walk around trying to entertain my toddler while holding my infant since I couldn’t have my stroller with me, and await the rest of my family. As well, as I mentioned, the place is jam-packed with junky items (also in the greenhouse), with signage everywhere stating to supervise your kids (fair enough) and “they break you buy”.

Definitely not a family friendly place, especially given the distance to get there. Do not recommend.

I love going to the berry barn. Not only delicious food but it's so beautiful there and I love their garden center which is filled with plants and all kinds of nicknacks.

Awesome Father's Day at The Berry Barn. It was busy but the buffet style brunch was fantastic. Extra bonus was the petting zoo that was set up today.

Just finished having breakfast here this morning and it was the worst experience ever.

Three of us were meeting for breakfast, as we do every Saturday, but this time we decided to make the trip out to the Berry Barn. I got there first, and with the other two expected by 9: 30 I went in at 9: 25 to get seated and started on a coffee. It was a couple of minutes before I was seated so I got a table for three and was seated.

The most unpleasant short woman who should take a lesson in customer service then stormed back to my table to tell me that they don’t allow a table to be seated unless all of the people eating are here. She asked me where the other two were and I said they would be there shortly. She then said next time I had to wait for everyone before getting a table. I told her there likely wouldn’t be a next time after this. She asked why and I told her that generally over the years we have enjoyed coming out here for special occasions, however after this we would probably go somewhere else.

The waiter then came over to the table demanding to know where the other two people were and how long they would be. I told him we had separate vehicles but they were on their way and should be there shortly. He was staring me down and told me that I shouldn’t be sitting there unless everyone was with me. I told him that I would not be calling them to see where they were because that is insane. That was when my sister and brother in law arrived and sat down. Maybe 3 whole minutes had elapsed by the time I was seated.

I filled them in on the grief I was getting since I arrived, and the waiter came back and to my brother in law said that there was one time when they were really busy that someone came in took a larger table because they were expecting someone, then left without ordering anything after an hour.

Now we were there this morning at 9: 30. Although the patio was full, the solarium had tables available and the restaurant was empty when we arrived and when we left. I also did not notice any signage that indicated all members of a party had to be present before they would assign you a table.

I believe in supporting local but dealing with this kind of insanity on the morning of the start of a long weekend is not what I want to support.

Will not be supporting Berry Barn in the future.

Definitely this is one of the places you MUST visit in Saskatoon.
Either Summer or Winter, they will accommodate you accordingly.
I visited them on Spring 2021 they have so many attractions there for your family.
You will find:
Gardening supplies
A cute little farm with ponies and goats
Nice and cozy landscaping viewing
Mini Car rides fir kids entertainment

And the FOOD? Spectacular!

I love the Berry Barn! I've been going here since I was a kid with my family & now I bring my own family. A great local family-owned business, awesome food & fun entertainment for the whole family!

Excellent food, a safe dining experience and fantastic service. Very nice to be able to come here and enjoy some of the best local cuisine available. Highly recommended!

It is a bit on the expensive side, but the food is good and the area is great. There was a petting zoo and pedal go carts even a short train ride. The gift and greenhouse areas are also enjoyable to browse through.

A lovely place with great menu items and interesting things everywhere! I really enjoyed the waffles. I visited in the winter and it was lovely. I imagine in the summer the Berry Barn is beautiful!

My kids loved the petting zoo but how they ticket is weird. It doesnt make sense to have two lines to pay for the same service.

Kind staff, amazing service, and a stunning atmosphere. I would also like to describe how amazing delishious and decadent the food is but also I dont think there is appropriate vocabulary in the english language to describe it. I would say that the menu is actually underpriced compared to the quality of the food. Well worth the visit.

We were passing by this place and number of cars parked made us curious and when we got in we could not agree more that it was one of the finest place in Saskatoon.
The food and ambience was too good and so were the servers who were polite and welcoming. We tried the one of the signature desert SASKATOON BERRY PIE and Amazing is the word. We loved it so much that we came back twice on subsequent weekends.
Over and above it has beautiful garden trail with swing, Cattle feeding and Berry plucking which was of great experience too. Love the place:)

Berry Barn is a fabulous place to eat.even for large groups. 25 were there for lunch today and food was delicious! 1 server handled all of us extremely well! Thank you.

Very nice atomsphere and lite display. Our meal was ok but bacon was not cooked and tasted old. Sausage a little odd as well.

Our first visit and we found the food to be absolutely delicious. Lovely ambiance and the staff were friendly and welcoming.

It is always great to come to this place where the food is excellent, service is very friendly and there's lots of parking available. Best pancakes in Saskatoon for sure!

It's okay. You need to walk through a cluttered gift store to get to an overpriced menu in the restaurant. At least the view is nice.

Fun spot to visit on the South Saskatchewan River, lots of flowers, great for pictures. Great homestyle cooking, and lots of Saskatoon products.
