The Granary

The staff are constantly on the back loading dock and gawking at the apartments behind the restaurant. My wife and children are afraid to go to the window because the head chef is always watching our windows and smoking and throwing his butts all over the place GROSS. It attracts bums looking for tobacco and wrecks our neighborhood. My wife and small child feel CREEPED out by the bearded head cook who stands at the loading dock railing and just stares for 5 minutes into our apartment building windows CREEEPY

Always a classic, The Granary is a really nice place to have an amazing meal in a nostalgic setting. The service is top notch and you always feel taken care of.

If you're looking for a, relatively, cheap place to dine, The Granary is not for you. Although they tend to have good specials, good quality food these days come with premium prices. However, you get what you pay for and won't be disappointed.

If you are lactose intolerant or sensitive: The kitchen does a good job of trying to accommodate, but know that many of the menu items and salad wagon offerings have cheese/dairy.

We waited for 10 minutes before our waiter came over. I waited for 65 minutes before I received my meal. Our waiter didn't ask if it was a special occasion.it was my birthday. He tried to overcompensate by talking at us about his experience at another restaurant.blowing his own trumpet. He called me "baby " twice which offended me. The free desserts didn't compensate enough. I have enjoyed this restaurant for 20 plus years but am sad to say that this experience left me feeling awful and I won't be returning.

We visited here both for my birthday and our wedding anniversary. Between April when our meals were extremely high and quality taste and flavors.to a bit less of a WOW experience in June. Apparently, their top chef retired after 40 some years. Ugh. Otherwise.still very yummy.

Excellent service by the waitress Sarah, the auality of the food is excellent. Prime rib is incredible! Highly recommend, we'll be back!

I've known of the Granary for most of my life and I'm 57! Finally went last week- VERY good amd reasonable prices! Loved the salad wagon!

We had a table of 6 all of us had the prime rib meal it was the most tenderest cut of meat ive ever had! Dessert was the peanut butter pie and was enough for every one to try and was a delicious way to end the meal. Definitely will go back and recommend it to anyone wanting a a-1 meal

Excellent experience for our first time here. Showed up without reservations and we were accommodated. Our waitress was the perfect mix of attentive and giving us space. The meal was a 10/10. We both had prime rib, medium rare and it was the best we’ve ever had. Absolutely delicious! We ordered with the asparagus/hollandaise/crab on top and highly recommended. The seasonal veggies were delicious and cooked to perfection. We had escargot stuffed mushrooms and they were a great start to the meal in addition to the yummy complimentary warm buns brought to us. We ate our meal in the lounge and the atmosphere was relaxing, our drinks were replenished and we had a wonderful evening. Can’t wait to go back next time we are in town.

I’ve been here twice now and both times have not disappointed whatsoever.staff is always friending and very helpful.the food is always delicious as well.they also gave me a discount on the bill for it being my birthday which was nice.i will be coming back.

The best steak you can have. Had the 10oz sirloin at mediam.

Been many times, love this place. Great food and great atmosphere. Excellent salad wagon as well. My only concern with this place is their prices. The prices seem to go up a little everytime I go, Just to be warned they are quite expensive and they are starting to gouge people a bit. I hope they don't get too greedy and lose their client base over this, because they really are a good place.

I had a dinner in the Granary just two hours ago. The steak was good but was not paired with the veggies of my choice. They said they keep only seasonal veggies options. Some of the essential menu items were verbally communicated yet the same thing could be shown in the menu to choose from. The waitress also confused us about the salad bar option and stopped my 10 year old daughter from a refill which led her to embarrassment and scared that she couldn’t finish her food later. Instead she could have explained it to us later or charge us extra. To add, the service was slow. If they need twenty minutes to set up a dessert, they could ask us at the time of placing the order. The ice-cream was late that we had to cancel it after waiting for nearly twenty minutes.

The Granary used to be a great place to go, but in the past few years it has gone downhill.

Most recently, we went here for my sister's birthday and everything was a disaster from the start. I had reserved a table for 4 for the special occasion and we were seated in the lounge at a small table so I was not impressed.

The server took over 10 minutes to first wait on us, and she was awful: she looked sad, spoke very quietly, did not know the specials, etc. It took another 7 - 8 minutes to receive our first drinks. She took our order and we all got steaks. The food took over an hour, and my sister, the birthday girl, received a prime rib instead of the steak she ordered. We told the server, and she brought the manager over. The manager was very rude and told my sister that's what she ordered so that's what she gets. I spoke up and confirmed I know she ordered a steak, and this is not a steak. After bickering with me for a few minutes the manager finally offered to get her the steak, but it would take over 25 minutes (she gets it cooked medium rare). We were already on a time crunch since we had bowling booked afterward, so we had to decline the steak.

The meals we did get are overpriced for the portions you get. However, the steak is seasoned well and tasted good.

When the bill came we noticed the prime rib was still on the bill. I asked why the meal was not taken off the bill since it is not what we ordered, and since my sister only had a few bites as she was disappointed. The manager told me we kept it so we have to pay for it. I have personally been in the hospitality industry for over 15 years and this is completely unacceptable. So, again, I had to bicker with the manager and in the end, she would only give us 25% off.

We will never return.

The food was outstanding which made up for the extremely poor service we had last week. It took over 30 minutes for our drinks and our dishes kept piling up. We were clearing our own table. Our waiter was not on the ball whatsoever. Our section wasn't busy when we were there. No excuse. Thank goodness we were all well fed.

Had the most amazing dinner tonight. The food was impeccable and the service outstanding! The prime rib and filet were cooked to perfection. Nice atmosphere, reasonable prices. Will definitely come back again.

If you want a nice meal and eat a ton of food, come to the Granary. Also highly recommend having a plate from the salad wagon. The prime Rib was excellent. It’s a hub for older people, and they know what’s up!

Went to The Granary last night for what we hoped would be a nice weekend dinner. We ordered our meals and they were at the table 5 mins later. My wine didn’t come until well after the meals arrived.

The steak was so tough you could hard you cut it. We ended up sending it back for fish as our last experience here (Valentines Day) the steak wasn’t great either.

Really Disappointing night out. Felt like a fast food restaurant pushing our meals out as fast as they could go. Seems like things have gone downhill and we aren’t sure we’ll go back again.

The management and staff made my Dad's Father's Day as he enjoyed a delicious prime rib dinner with mashed potatoes and broccoli. My partner and I were visiting from Edmonton to see Dad and what you did for him was truly a wonderful thing and we are so appreciative for your kindness. I have shared our experience with family and friends and we all agree that your kindness was heartwarming. Thank you all so very much. A staple restaurant located in Saskatoon has the prime rib medium rare with the salad bar, excellent serve and loved the atmosphere, glad I came back!

Went for my grandmother's birthday, we all had the prime rib and it was very tender. More food than any of us could eat.

It was really good. The sirloin was cooked perfectly. All food and add ons were delicious. The turtle cheesecake was amazing. Highly recommend that dessert. Great place to get your steak needs met.

Service was very slow, but food was quite good when it finally arrived. Be sure to set aside plenty of time for your meal.

Prime rib was perfectly cooked and tender. Portion sizes were okay and prices were fair for what you get.
Sides were fairly small.
Drinks were good. Very good Ceasars that were well spiced and garnished.

Overall, would return

What else can be said that hasn't already in the other reviews? The prime rib is amazing. Absolutely perfect. The salad wagon has a great selection, and the biscuits you get are great too. Even the side vegetables are amazing. The staff were all super friendly and our waitress, Dennica, was very friendly and fast and efficient. Highly recommend!

Went to the granary last night for a company Christmas Party, hands down the best food, and service I have had in a restaurant since I went on a Caribbean cruise back in 2017. The appetizers were perfect temperatures and delicious, the main course was amazing. Best prime rib I have ever had, cooked to a perfect medium, and the service was 100% on point. I personally think the head waiter and his sidekick deserve a raise, they did.not miss a beat (they served about 40 people). I would happily give this place my money again. Oh and if your worried about covid, they follow covid safety pretty well in my opinion. I would give them a 5star but I dont think any restaurant in the city of saskatoon is a 5star restaurant. Highly highly recommended!

We went to The Granary for our company Christmas Party. The staff were exceptional as was the food. There were 19 of us and we were all very happy with our meals and the service. Highly recommend The Granary.

Best prime rib I have ever had there post covid restrictions. I've had it there many times but this time extra good! Calamari was good, but the batter not so much.

This was a very nice evening dining at The Granary. Food was excellent, I had the prime rib special and would recommend it. Enjoyed our waiter as well.

My mother-in-law and I just went for our first eat-in dinner since re-opening. I have to been to the Granary in many many years and I loved it.

Absolutely delicious steak, best I’ve had in years - especially given the pandemic. We had the Prime rib 6oz with garlic toast and potatoe, which I felt was well priced at $19/plate.

Our waiter was phenomenal and had the most beautiful eyes. We got the impression that he was new but his service was fantastic.

Restaurant is beautifully decorated with subtle background music which is not over-bearing. Staff appeared to be happy and were certainly very pleasant to us.

I went with my family to celebrate my 19th Bday. Super warm atmosphere, delightful staff, and immaculate food. My steak was cooked perfectly and their garlic mash was super smooth and creamy. The drinks I had were all mixed perfectly - I had a long island and a delightful old fashioned. The peanut butter pie was pretty fantastic as well.

Wow. Not often do we leave a restaurant in which we are in awe of the food, but tonight we did. From the steak to juicy prime rib, right down to the mixed vegetables (crispy and almost candied carrots and parsnips), the food was a knock out of the park from beginning to end.
The crab dip was still sizzling when it came to the table, and tasted like heaven with just the right amount of cheese.

Put aside the food, the restaurant has modern yet rustic decor and charm that compliments the Prairies. Our waitress named Ashley was attentive and friendly, and a very good server.

I will recommend this place to everyone. SO happy we found this gem. Cheers and great job to those who run and work at this restaurant!

Went into this restaurant for the first time. Seating was great, we made a reservation, we were seated promptly. Nice varied menu. After consulting with my dining partners, I ordered the lamb appetizer, and the prime rib. As a side note, I have not ordered prime rib in a restaurant in a very long time as I am always disappointed, but since I was encouraged to do so, I did order it. This was an exceptional meal, the lambs was very tasty and the prime rib was just perfect.
I highly recommended. We will absolutely be dining there here again.

This was my first time eating here, I picked the Granary for my 50th Birthday dinner and it was amazing the food was excellent, the service was above and beyond.we will be back

Excellent seafood place to hit up for scallops, calamari, shrimp & of course just fish in general, fish and cold glass of a tequila drink are the perfect combination. Service is very welcoming just walking in and excellent service in the restaurant part.

Was pretty good, some food needed to be seasoned a bit more. All in all, I did enjoy everything. My favourite was the special starter, bone marrow.

Great atmosphere (pioneer era antiques), good food. Fabulous buffet bar. Best known for prime rib - which I didn't order. I did have chicken cordon bleu, which was on the dry side.
Lots of parking, in and out very easy.

This is my favourite local restaurant. Every year, I go there for my birthday meal. The meals and service never disappoints!

Good service, good food, cozy ambiance and a salad bar in a wagon! Was very good, glad there was an add for The Granary in my hotel room. Would definitely come back next time we are in town.

Went for a farewell dinner so was with a large group. Service was excellent. Loved the fresh bread we started off with. Salad bar was very fresh with lots of choices. I thoroughly enjoyed the pickerel. A star short from 5 stars as vegtables were horribly boring and tasted like frozen processed.

I wanted to go somewhere that I thought gave a good mix of Saskatoon fare, like northern fish, pickerel and Saskatoon berries. Granary is perfect to represent Saskatchewan. The atmosphere is great for those still dressed from work but is casual enough for jeans and a tee. It's in the shape of granary which is cute and kitschy. Food was delicious and as always, people are western province hospitality. Choice to sit in more dining feel, lounge/pub side or patio. All around DON'T miss out. LOVE!

My wife and I went for a date night on Thursday July 18. We both had never been to your restaurant. Our waitress was very kind and went through the menu with us. She told us you were known for your prime rib so we both decided to order it. The dry ribs to start, were very good. The disappointment came when our prime rib dishes came out. They were not hot at all! Our veggies were noticeably hotter than the prime rib. It was very fatty, dry and bland. My wife couldn't even finish her meal, instead we packed it up because we had already complained about the dried food on a napkin and the rock hard bread. Thankfully we added on the salad wagon option so we could go for seconds. The meal was definitely not worth over a $110. We would possibly give it a second chance but stay far away from the prime rib.
