Just incredible. A tiny, but wide, waterfall right here in the city. I can think of nothing more lovely. And the birds that hang out there? Absolutely

Love the Weir. If you go up on the train bridge you can take beautiful pictures. Any where down by the river you can capture beautiful pictures

Nothing much to see there but you can still sit there and relax while sipping a bottle of icetea or lemonade.

Always recommend, seeing the Pelicans is always so nice and reading the educational material that they have around is always interesting. Let's keep honouring saskatoons beautiful Green spaces.

Water, pelicans, walking paths and bridges. It's a nice outing but watch for the neglected and in need people society forgot and be aware of needles. Would recommend it at night.oh and them geese sometimes get cranky.

Beautiful view of Saskatoon's river. It's best to climb the stairs and walk across the train bridge to get the full experience and beauty. Please note that the walking bridge is quite narrow so when passing other visitors be prepared to smile and move over slightly. Continue your walk towards the College Drive bridge or the University bridge, there are several places where you can rest at the bench and watch the water and other passersby. Right before the bridge, there are some preserved preservation areas where you might be lucky enough to catch a glimpse of a beaver. You can return on the same route. The best would be is to cross the bridge and head back to your car and savour more of Saskatoon's finest walk paths.

A cathartic little stop for those who enjoy river walks. Feel free to read the signage, too!

The water, like time itself, keeps on flowing over the edge. One time a cow got stuck in the weir. Its bloated corpse spun and spun, as mothers were aghast and covering their children's eyes.

Lovely place to walk around. Close parking to allow easy transport of bike, canoe, kayak or whatever else you want to take around the area. Train Bridge is right next to parking area to allow cross over to otherside.

Absolutely beautiful! I got to watch the pelicans eat and it was really enjoyable! I Absolutely loved it. My autistic son really enjoys walks by the river and watching the birds. He finds its sooo relaxing! We make an adventure out of it to see what cool things we can find on the different pathways.

Love sitting by the river banks and listening to to waterfall and walking across the trian bridge

Loved the immense power and the beauty of such a man made element in nature's force of a river. Pelicans are always wonderful.

Beautiful but dangerous. The other half and I took a stroll to the weir and we where both in awe and astonishment. Well not really, we have been here many times before. A young lady on a bike came up to us and offered to take our picture with the weir in the back. My spider sense kicked in and told her, " that's ok, we like our cell phones". She gave me a quizzical look and drove off. Drove off into the sunset like a western but without a horse.

Who doesn't love the weir?
Great place to sit down and relax, grab a coffee and people watch if you're alone but still
Just enough of an attraction that it keeps the senses alive and still allows you to have a concentrated conversation with friends.

This is a very beautiful view looking over the river. In this area is foot paths and fishing spots people visit regularly in the summer. You'll definitely see ducks and pigeons and other birds in the area. There is signs with little historical information about the area as well. It's beautiful place for a casual walk on a warm summer day.

The weir is a grate attraction for all people. It has a parking lot that can be very popular a specially on a warm day. It’s also a grate spot for walking running and biking along the Meewasin Trail

The weir is a place ive been going to for over 30 years now, way before they gave it a major facelift and basically everything but the weir itself and the train bridge has changed.i love going to the waters edge and take in all of the beauty.

04 July 2021 15:07
Dropped someone off for an appointment and waited at the weir until pickup time. Nice little parking lot and place to be.
03 July 2021 14:41
Fantastic place for a walk, bike, run, canoe, kayak, bird watch. So much to see. Almost 60 kms of paved/gravel trails
12 June 2021 17:52
Longest bike path in Canada. Nice walk along the river with plenty to see: wildlife watching, like pelicans and Canadian geese, full of monuments and historic buildings, has outdoor playground and recreational gym facilities and kayak rental, tennis courts and plenty of cafes

Summer review - Very good, many pelicans, very serene, much to see. Walk up a bridge, look at serene pelicans from up high.

Winter review - no pelicans, very cold, less to see. Walk up a bridge, its colder up here, walk back down and go home, warmer there.

Great spot to check out as well as take a great down the path along the river or bike along the trails plus you'd see some pelicans, geese, ducks & might also see garden snakes here & there which are harmless & not poisoning at all plus trails on thee other side of the river.

An amazing experience as always. Love the sound of water crashing down along with the chirps of so many birds. Can get real breezy at night, so would recommend to carry a good jacket.

Really peaceful, I enjoy watching pelicans, ducks and geese there but I wish there were not many mosquitos there.

Always worth a stop when you are out exploring the great mountain bike trail network around Saskatoon!
03 August 2019 15:46
Nice enough place for an evening stroll. Lots of people fishing. Lots of pelicans to watch in the summer, and also a tame beaver in the area.

Gorgeous location, decent little spot to throw a line in. This part of the river has walleye, sturgeon, suckers, and likely more. There's a few decent beach spots here as well. Only recommends would maybe be to avoid the spot late at night and stay out of the water near the weir. There's a lot of current here.
