Thien Vietnam 1 Restaurant

I was there to meet a friend. There were not much people but still we were waiting for a long time to be seated! Order number 69 and the food was fine but again had to wait for a long time! The price was reasonable but waiting time was too much! I had to renew my parking twice!

Not custome service tho. We read all reviews on googdle before deciding to visit the resto. We really want support the Vietnamese restaurant; however, the food is very bad, and taste is very awful, they are mixed of Vietnamese and Chinese food. Awful Pho is without sauce and vegetables, pork vermicelli is weirdo. Especially, the servants are very rude and unfriendly there. We never visit the place again.

May be a little slow preparing sometimes because they are so busy. Food is always excellent. You get alot for the $$. Good quality. Not full of peppers and onions like many other places.

This is a pork noodle bowl and I told the waitress that I didn't like it it had like a sour taste to it and it didn't taste fresh it was really super soggy. We ended up ordering something else and we told him that we weren't going to pay for it because we didn't want to pay for gross rotten food. This place used to be an amazing place to go to but it's just so overly greasy the vegetables could be cut way smaller. And why so much onion.the pink stuff didn't taste like pork but it had a toothpaste texture.it was just sooooo gross. This place isn't anything like it was before it had new management.

I got the satay black bean chicken. Beyond tasty. Super hot, very fresh, spicy but also with that great black bean flavor. Definitely recommend!

Great food.

I have eaten here multiple times, the staff is always friendly and more often than not they are attentive. I usually go for tue daily special which is alway really good and a great value. I have had a few other items from their menu and I haven't found anything I was unhappy with.

The wait staff went from pressuring me to order to just about ignoring me. My appetizer came after my main. I had to ask for chopsticks. Was never asked how my food was. Had to seek out a server to pay my bill. At least the food was good.

I was interviewed today for a position at this establishment. It was by far the most degrading and humiliating experience I have ever faced in an interview. I dropped off a resume at the 2nd location on 8th st last Thursday, and called again today to ask how the interview process was looking like, and they took my number and said their General Manager would call me. In 5 minutes he called me and asked me to come in (to the downtown location) immediately. I said I could be there in 20 minutes and did so. When i sat down, he looked me up and down and laughed. We didn't even have an interview, he just kept asking me "can you handle a 10-10 shift? " as if I could not and would not believe me. He told me the money was good there, and that I would lose weight working there. He also motioned to my body shape and looked me up and down. He asked me to pull my mask down and mentioned how beautiful I was? He also demanded I come in tomorrow and prove I could work a full 12 hour shift. He said if I could not make it through the 12 hours he would not pay me for any of the hours leading up to me "quitting" on the first day, Something about his accountant being mad at him. He told me to slick my hair back and dress nice tmrw and that he would see me. He winked at me once throughout this conversation. I left feeling degraded, harassed and humiliated. I will not be working there or supporting their business ever again. With terrible management and an awful.leader, I can not be silent about this interaction.

Waited 30 mins for a small wonton soup and that wasn’t even all On my order. By then I didn’t it even want it anymore I just paid for it to be polite. Also The vegetables tasted rotten. I Won’t be returning.

This is one of spot I used to go for soup, not very authentic but bearable, but not sure when CHEF has CHANGED, new chef definitely don't know how to make these Asian soup, nor noodle.
Very disappointed on food taste and poor service.

Consistent great food when picking up for take-out. Sometimes the food could be hotter on the pho bowls & daily special in my experiences.

For me, this is the BEST Vietnamese restaurant in Saskatoon! Very reasonably priced. The food is always amazing! Our favorite is the House Special Stir Fried Soft Noodles and the Daily Noodle Specials never disappoint! Ankther favorite is the Special Wanton Soup! My goodness, they are so delicious!

The lowest quality ingredients and worst customer service. Prices are low for a reason-you get what you pay for. Try one of the many other much better options in the city, you will regret your Thien order every time.

Slow, after waiting in store for our order for 29 mo I made my husband come in while I cried in the car

Service was good, food was delicious, but the reason its a 1 star is because how their special beef noodle soup made me vomit

The "lady" on the phone who took my order was rude and very unprofessional. I had to repeat myself way too many times because she wasn't listening and was talking to someone else at the same time. Wait time for the food is an hour. I do not recommend this place at all. I'm still waiting. Hopefully the food is better than the service, but I'm extremely doubtful at this point. Lol

An average place to grab a quick bite. I use to frequent the one on 8th St more but a negative experience kept me away from all Thien restaurants. I rarely go to these places anymore.

The service was not good because they were short staffed.
However I started to feel sick once I got home
When it was time to go to bed the nausea kicked in and I was up 4 times in the night bringing up what they seved me.like my body rejected it completely and it just sat in my stomach all night till every last bit was brought up.not a good feeling! Last time i got up it seemed it would never stop.hope I'll get better now.
I will never go back.

There food is not as good as use to be use to be good and cheap but now quality gone down hill right now and some prices have changed a little as well.and there is places in city that have better quality and better service cleaner places to get Asian food I can think of few such as Red pepper and spicy garden.

Ok place.ordered the sate chicken stir fry with rice which turned our just OK.nothing special on service.

Food is good but the service was so slow, table was sticky, they sat us under an air vent when the place was mostly empty, and it's just not very clean.

I do not like to leave bad reviews, but holy. This place was an experience! When we walked to choose a table, 75% of them were dirty, and we were the only customers We order the Vietnamese Rolls (#1) which were pretty delish, and also the chicken rice noodle (#22) and lastly, Lemongrass Pork/Shrimp on Vermicelli (#54). Spring rolls were good, served with lots of sauce! Noodle soup was water soup with some boiled chicken and old veggies. Pork dish was okay, but served with hot lettuce. Service was less than exceptional, having to ask for every thing cuz they would never come back to check in you.

Food was good but the service we received was not good, we were ignored through our whole stay.after they took our order we had to ask for our drinks again and it wasnt that busy. Again the food was delicious but my review is a reflection of the service

Front store employees is rudely behaviours with customer as well as skipper many skip customer disappointed with food packing and as always late for order even no one can give answer.

The quality of service and taste of food has decreased since the past few years. However their food portion sizes are still great. Unfortunately, I found a hair in my food but the staff were so nice about it so I can let that pass.

Always have enjoyed my experience at the other 2 thiens, no complaints as they have fast service, and always friendly. Expect here, tonight. Restaurant was not busy. 5 tables of patrons only including Us. Waited 20mins and finally had to go up and ask if we can order, Gave waiter our food and beverage order. And has still been another 15 mins, no food or beverage. 45mins here, not impressed with this Thiens 1. Food better be good or another bad review will be made.

One of my regular go-to places. Usually the food is great but sometimes it tastes bad. I guess it depends on who’s cooking. I recommend having Thien during the week when it’s less busy. Seems on the weekends is when the food doesn’t taste as good. Maybe cause they’re so busy?

Thiens has the best priced food in saskatoon. You simply can't beat the #1 special. I know the owner personally and he goes beyond caring about the quality and cleanliness of his food and kitchen.

I was nervous going here after reading some negative reviews but it was a great experience.

The food is very reasonably priced, it was delicious and all the ingredients looked/ tasted fresh. The flavours were very good. The service and dine in experience was great, both of us ate for under $20 total.

Amazing food and service! One of my top Vietnamesse restaurants! I highly recommend any fried rice and soups! All of them are so tasty and delicious! Definitely coming back again!

Something is wrong, it takes so much longer to get served now. Had to leave after 30 mins of not being served and my lunch break wasted.

Food tastes amazing, takes a little longer to get your order but that's only coz the restaurant is super busy.
I can imagine how busy the kitchen and service staff get, keep up the good work, I will definitely be back for more.

I just ordered from here through Skip the Dishes and when I got my food, the soup I ordered was all spilt inside the bag. I called Thiens and they very quickly and happily offered to send me another one and got me a refund for the soup on top of that! Not only was their service awesome and helpful but the food is fantastic, cheap, and comes with huge portions! Since moving to Saskatoon my wife and I have been trying to find an amazing Vietnamese restaurant with little luck but Thiens has definitely met out requirements for great Vietnamese food and it will be our new regular place to eat!

They were more focused in the "skip the dish" orders, all i got was a dinner for 1 special, it took over an hour (just to get rice, 3 chicken balls and an eggroll). When i got it the food was cold as if it was someones else food that was not eaten. Never again man im so upset with this place and their service. Seriously if your a low class citizen with no self respect this is your place.

This is the first time my daughter expressed her approval of her Vietnamese Bun bowl. So we give them 5 stars. Also very welcoming staff which isn’t always a given! Impressive.
