Dimitri or whatever his name is was very confrontational and verbally abusive when I confronted him about the problems to potentially change rooms.

Room one, key wouldn't work. Check on was 3pm, room wasn't ready till 4. Bed sheets stained, and bugs in the walls. Complained. Switched to a different room, second room, same stains on bed, decided to cancel and go elsewhere. Still, no refund. Shady.

Update: no refund given, even when rooms aren't ready on time, or if they're filthy and you decide to cancel. Worst hotel experience I have ever encountered.

Infested with bed bugs & cockroaches. Blankets/sheets filled with blood marks. Left a room at 3am because all the bugs started coming out, they decided not to give my deposit back because of “stained” blankets. Meanwhile the stains came from their bedbugs!

Was gonna give it a shot but need a Credit Card. Had $1000 cash to offer. What a disgrace.

It's a nice place especially for humans with no credit cards and stuff, u get a roof so it's a home

Wanted to give this place the benefit of the doubt, big mistake! Half way plastered holes in the wall, water damage stains, mildew running down the walls, stained/dirty linens and furniture. Asked for non-smoking room but it obviously had been smoked in, a stench hits as soon as you walk into the room. The staff was helpful but I still chose to forfeit $43 and drove 5 hours home rather than stay in this place. The neighbourhood was also very dated and sad looking and there was a lot of unsavoury characters hanging about around the property. I didn’t feel safe, BUT it didn’t have bugs which I was honestly surprised about.

My mistake for booking online through a service. I didn't even know you could book a smoking room but how bad could it be right! Bad especially for a non smoker. To top it off room wasn't clean. Someone's old face cloth on shower rod sticky substance on end table. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. Was there long enough to walk up the stairs and come back down and they are willing to refund 30% of my room. Not impressed

My 2 tires were punctured during my stay here.the car parked beside mine had 2 tires damaged as well.the place is not safe.sketchy people are roaming the premises.

Forgot my keycard. 3am. Lock out til 6 am. It's July, what if this happened in the middle of winter? At -40? This wife and I would probably be dead

Filthy, water damaged, ceiling tiles missing, no bulbs in lights, furniture was filthy and people live there and transient people lurked around stairwells in the evening. It was absolutely disgusting and unsafe. It needs to be removed from every travel app and out of the hospitality industry. It needs to be torn down, absolutely disgusting and I am praying we did not bring home bedbugs, they will be getting a fumigation bill if my house gets bugs! Condem the place is all I can say and I want my money back.

Room was very unsanitary. The sheets were stained, duvet cover hadn't been changed in who knows how long. Asked for "clean" bedding and the new sheets were stained and stunk of cigarettes. The bathroom was dirty, bugs in the tub. The parking lot was full of garbage, and addicts and drug deals. Was very scary

DO NOT STAY HERE!
1. Bed Bugs
2. DISGUSTING ROOM, dirty sheets with blood on them! Asked for another room due to blood on bed and the room they moved us too was just as disgusting.
3. I asked for towels (room came with one towel, we had three adults staying in the room). I was told no, they had no towels.then was given this dirty towel to use.
4. We asked for smoke free room and the room REAKED of cigarette smoke and we found a cigarette roller underneath a sidetable.

We stayed for abiut one hour, and left and stayed at the quality inn down the street for around the same price!

The ONLY positive about this experience was that the staff gave us a full refund for our room

The worst hotel i've ever stayed at very dirty, the heater didnt work, the tub was so dirty couldnt use it, suppose to be breakfast from 630 until 1030 never happened, i left at 8am and the office still wasn't open, do not recommend anyone stay here

Ever heard the expression "Mama Tried", well this place tries hard, but the place could use some better quality craftsmanship on repairs and reno work. Also could use 24/7 staff on desk as the homeless pick through the garbage looking for cans at night. It is close to the airport and the price was better than most. I am not one to worry.but others might as the doors have not functioned well as there appears to be a lot of damage to them being forced open.

Update, doors are more secure, rooms are being kept up, but still no staff on premise at night. Result, some guy was screaming his head off in the wee hours at some poor occupant on the 2nd floor balcony. Also the breakfast room no longer is open during the times posted. Staff is still great, but owners should hire someone to be there 24/7

Where to start.
My room is freezing! (It's winter time!)
Room decor and furniture are broken.
Room was not cleaned properly and food was left in the room to rot. Both lamps have no light bulbs. The little stand thing thatholds luggage is broken. Fridge doesn't work and stinks. Microwave doesnt have a plate inside and doesn't work as well.
Burn marks on the bathroom floor.
Honestly it's a little scary staying here.
Hopefully breakfast is worth the trauma. I would not recommend. Even at the cheap price.

Cockroaches in room, bed frame held together with duct tape, unwanted guest knocking at all hours if night, do not stay here

The price was good. Everything was borderline substandard or sketchy. Broken furniture, broken smoke detector. Room smelled of smoke. Short breakfast hours. Substandard breakfast. 'broken' juice dispenser, but no plans to fix it.

So I booked a room for one night on our road trip.the room had a lot of issues, broken tv no sound and picture quality we ended up watching movie on our laptop instead, Broken tap in the bathroom tub, loud ceiling fan, we killed like 10 cockroaches lots of bugs, dirty bathroom and walls

I was there for a night and this was the nastiest place I have ever had to sleep. There was cockroaches and bugs. Yes the service was good but if o could give a zero star I would never tell anyone to stay. This place should be shut down.

DO NOT STAY AT THIS HOTEL. The worst hotel experience I've ever had. We booked 6 rooms for a conference weeks in advance, had confirmation numbers and a "guaranteed" booking. Sounds great! But no, it was anything but. We get there around 10 pm and one room is overbooked, so we can only have 5 rooms. Not the end of the world, we can share. We check into two rooms and are told the third has no working A/C. Reviews showed bedbugs, we were told by the front desk that they only had dirty rooms, no clean ones available, so maybe it was a blessing we didn't stay there. We ended up finding rooms in Prince Albert 1.5 hours away. Well worth the drive from the Thriftlodge.

Booked a non smoking room online.traveling for a wedding.traveled 6.5 hours, we arrived they didn't have the room I booked and could only offer a smoking room! It was midnight and all I wanted to do was get my kids settled. We went up to the room, it was something out of a horror movie! It stank, the tap in the bathroom ran constantly.tried to shower but after 5 minutes the water went cold. After 20 minutes there was still no hot water. Def not somewhere to take your family.the front staff was awesome and gave me a full refund! What a terrible experience. Bates motel!

Do not recommend this place. I got maybe 15 minutes of sleep, people up banging around, slamming doors, vehicles coming and going. Door was not closing properly, had been broken into, pry bar used at some point, second lock not functional. TV was small and in an inconvenient position to watch, could be cleaner and updated. The only good thing about our room was the air conditioning.

Room was small and dirty walking in. Bed was made very poorly, sheets were stained and had dead bugs in them, and found a pair of earrings in the bed (not ours). Towels were just thrown over the edge of the tub and were stained/dirty looking. There were no power outlets close to the bed except for one, so had to plug my phone in in the bathroom. The bathroom in the room next to us shower’s was really really loud in our room, to the point it woke us up from our sleep. There was lots of people outside, talking and yelling at all times of day and night.

Found bedbugs on one of the beds and in the bathtub. Unfortunately this was AFTER I'd spent the night. Although free breakfast was supposed to be offered from 6 to 10 am the office door was locked in the morning. There was NO response to my phone call to complaint about the bugs and asking for my money back. I am now in the process of alerting the BBB of Saskatoon, Wyndham Hotels and, if I get no responses, the TV stations in Saskatoon.

All of the bedding was dirty, with handprints and who knows what kind of bodily fluids, pull out couch bedding was falling apart and gritty and full of holes, had to sleep fully dressed as wasn’t touching that bedding.went for breakfast, waffle batter was sour and juice machine was out of operation so nothing for kids and the resident cat was walking around the food area and hopped up on the table while eating and stuck its head in my coffee.

So I booked a room for one night on our road trip. The fellow at the front desk was great, the room however, not so much.: Broken tap in the bathroom sink, loud ceiling fan, shower curtain rod coming away from the wall on both ends, hair in the bathtub, no fridge, the furniture looked like it had been attacked with a knife, a stained floor and a TV with no sound. Also we booked non- smoking room but clearly someone had been smoking in it. A LOT! We ended up asking for a refund which was cheerfully given and we went somewhere else.

Don't. Just don't. Room was discussing, A/C sounded like a Mac truck idling in the room, unknown stains on the furniture. Cheap but still not worth it.

Staff was pleasant. Got to my room and first thing I had to do was go P, no toilet paper and no tissue in the tissue holder. Called front desk and 15 minutes later, as I’m doing the PP dance, called front desk again and said “ you need to make this a priority because I need to go pee and there’s nothing in this room to wipe myself! ”. Room was dirty, multiple hairs in the tub, burn holes in the comforter. Still I stayed until about 9 o’clock when I had to go pee again and the toilet broke. Pulled off the lid and it was not filling up. Call front desk said they would move me to another room. I told them absolutely not I’m leaving and I want a full refund. My child was in the hospital getting multiple surgeries all I wanted was a good nights sleep without any drama and this place fell short. I will never stay there again and I warn anybody pay a few more dollars and get something that’s cleaner and better maintained

I stayed here about 9 months ago but still remember that terrible room. Avoid this place in any cost.

This is one of the "Scungiest" most disgusting places I have ever been duped into paying for; we left our stuff there after getting ready, but after our concert, we packed up and drove the 5 hours home that night! We didn't want to risk picking up some kind of disease staying there. DO NOT THINK ABOUT STAYING HERE, unless you like sharing your bed with cockroaches etc.

Dirty carpet, no towels, no soap, tried to call the front desk but there was no phone cord, bed linens were cigarette burned, looks dirty and stained.

The pros.it was dry inside and had good water pressure.
Cons.looks like a place that hasn't been maintained for a decade. All bedding, towels, pillows etc stained. Ripped sheets, water damage/mold problems in the bathroom.
Should be charged $50 for the lower double bed and not $100 but it's a place to sleep.

BUT THEY HAVE BED BUGS. 05/2022.
Turned on the light and it was on top of the bed, along with other questionable debris.
They know and they DONT Care.

Will never stay here again or recommend to any one got checked into our room went to use the wash room and cockroaches all over so we packed up and left didn’t even bother to get our money back weren’t even there for half hr to enjoy our money we spent but not gona sleep in a cockroach infested place so we got a different place to stay and a very scetchy place to stay never again won’t even waste my time on this place
