Tropical Inn

This hotel is byfar the worst place I've ever visited! Switch rooms 3 times as each room was riddled with mold and the first one came with complimentary pubic hair! Gross! A few members of the front desk staff were absolutely unprofessional and unpleasant to deal with.
Bennigans Bar:
The most unwelcoming unfriendly staff ever! The music was ridiculously loud. The staff were drinking behind the bar and later were running around the tables after each other. The next night One of the staff members was extremely confrontational and even threatened to fist fight myself and my friend over a conversation that she had nothing to do with. She inserted herself into a conversation she had no business putting herself into! She became aggressive immediately and then refused to serve me. So we went to smitties, where aggressive "server" rushed in to tell the staff at smitties not to serve us either! None of the staff around from the bar, hotel, or smitties were helpful. Instead they banded together aggressively. Absolutely rude and unnecessary. Goodluck making money at your establishment if this is how you treat longterm guests on the second day! What a joke!

Worst hotel ever, don’t be fooled by the water slides, they’re just as worst at the hotels, the bald guy was the worst person there, he was rude and no help at all, no good service ever, rude and overall just not helpful at all, when we got to the room we heard drunk people in the lobby, the room was overheating, beetles all over the walls, and the service workers told us not to touch anything, even though they said they would come fix the heating problem, never did, feared for our safety, and they wouldn’t refund us and gave us a run around just for us to get help on our situation, do not recommend, do not stay here, holiday inn is so much better, staff are nicer.i will never return to this place ever again, don’t spend or waste your money here.can’t share photos cause there on a different phone.

Booked this hotel last min. On arrival the check in staff were very helpful and friendly. I had young kids and pets which was no issue with the hotel. Room was although slightly dated clean and equipped with all hotel necessities. Pool was great although due to staffing the water slides are only open at certain times of the day but once able to go was very enjoyable for all. Pool is large enough for a few to play and the attached hot tub was good for parents to supervise while young kids played and went down the slides.

Some parents were booked into this hotel by the ministry of ss so that they could have a visit with their children. They were treated horribly by the front desk attendant (I wish that I could name her but she had no name tag and when asked her name would only reply "front desk"). She went into the pool area and waved the purchase order for the reservation in the air while yelling "I'm going to call social services on you" She was upset that they had the children in the pool and she told me that they were not even mentioned on the PO and that the parents couldn't have visitors because they were not paying guests at the hotel. The children left the pool area crying and the visit was ruined. I tried explaining to Ms. Front Desk that a PO is going to become money but she continued to tell me that "the accountant gets them" and "paying guests are people with money and credit cards". WOW what an attitude of discrimination! Should have read reviews first because there are plenty of bad reviews and mentions of a rude front desk attendant. Management must agree with this behavior because if they don't she would have been removed from her job by now. There was also a rude tall older man who backed up Ms. Front Desk. The pool attendant was very friendly and apologetic of this rudeness and the waterslide being shut down to get rid of the children. TROPICAL INN NORTH BATTLEFORD YOU CAN DO BETTER! I Would like having an apology to the parents and the children who were affected.

We were in town for an event. We booked a block of 12 rooms at Tropical Inn for the kids to enjoy the waterslide and hot tub. Hot tub was completely empty when we checked in on April 28th. Had been shut down since April 24th according to the note on the desk. Waterslide hours were listed as 5 - 10pm. At 9: 45 without any warnings or notice, the staff member shut off the water to the waterslides. Kids were stuck in the waterslide and had to get down with no water. My issue was that if they say waterslides are open until 10pm, then they should be open. As a safety policy, the should have a gate at the bottom of the stairs which can be closed prior to water being shut off. When I raised my concerns on the second night, the desk clerk said to call on Monday and talk to the manager. Little good that does when we're home already. We will not be bringing out group back to this hotel. The one draw was the waterslide. Many newer hotels with great ammenities who will appreciate our business.

Not sure where to start, checking in was an awful experience and took forever with 5 other families with small children waiting to check in at 4: 00pm. At the front desk the woman who checked us in was very rude to us and told us they didn’t like online bookings and that the rooms we wanted were not available even though we booked them a week prior. Our rooms were all over the hotel and we wanted them together and booked adjoining rooms that we did not receive. They charged $750 damage deposit to our credit card that was supposed to be a pre authorization but was actually a charge on the credit card (as we checked out a different lady working the front desk was very sweet and said that there shouldn’t have been a charge and we wouldn’t have got our money back if it weren’t for us asking about it). 2 of the 3 rooms we booked the TVs didn’t work. Nasty stains on the blankets on the beds and what looked to be a cigarette burn in one of them. One of the fridges was full of water. One room was absolutely freezing. There were several families at the pool with lots of children and they wouldn’t turn on the water slides. Lots of unimpressed families. When they did have them on, from 7: 00pm-8: 30pm, the kids did enjoy the slides but were unimpressed that the worker shut them off while kids were still sliding down just before 8: 30. There was no towels stocked at the pool and when we asked if we could get some more to our room they said they could only give 2 and there was 3 of us. The morning after at the pool one of the workers was, what looked like, mixing chemicals beside the hot tub and adding them in while there was several people in it. After all of that we went to Smitty’s in the hotel and also had a not great experience there with one of our kids not receiving their food we ordered until after we were all done eating already. Needless to say we will not be back. We really wanted to love this hotel and experience but it was so bad I had to share.

Even if you are just passing through and stop at the Smitty's on-site to grab a coffee; do yourself a favour, and check out the pie stand near the cash register. There's a chance a few pieces of cheesecake may still be available too!

Needed a lot of time to kill, was very enjoyable. Bartender (Joel) is the best n deserves nothing but big tips.

The staff was very friendly and very accommodating. We had a little incident, toilet overflowed and the water made its way out to the carpet just outside the bathroom.
Went down to let them know and was thinking they would just send someone to mop it up. I was absolutely stunned when she said she would give us a different room. I told her it was no big deal if she couldn't because I heard they were completely booked. She then told me she kept a couple of rooms in case something dod happened and they needed rooms. We were upgraded too to a room with a king bed and pout couch. We were all ablevto sleep comfortably in the bed. The room was huge and the huge tub in the bathroom was a hit for the kids. They used it just to have a fun bath and to relax.
I highly recommend this hotel and there is a Smitty's restaurant right in the hotel. Pool with 2 waterslides and a hit tub. The staff was fantastic!

Lady at the desk was sorta sparky. Zero wiggle room for my situation. But she did pass me over to the lone star where I was taken care of in a snap.

I love staying at the Tropical Inn. My many experiences before were always great. I stayed here this past weekend (June 11th - 13th) and for the most part the room was clean and everything until I had a shower the next morning. I noticed hair stuck on the bathroom shower curtain. I was not mine as my hair is blue not black on the curtain. And the only other thing that bothered me was the maid service. It was Sunday my check out day 10am rolls around i hear a loud not maid service I'm like I have an hour before check out. They leave 10: 30 comes around another knock same thing. I'm getting annoyed so I took my time packing 11am comes knock again maid service.so again I take my time and left at 11: 30 well front desk was calling. It was to say the least extremely annoying

Highly recommend Tropical Inn. Our ac was not working when getting to our room. We were quickly switched to a bigger room. Great staff, fun water slides. Clean room/bathroom. Comfortable beds.

Bathroom in our room wasnt cleaned or sanitized, door knob almost falling off, it was brought to staff attention but issue was not addressed, house keeper just left towels on luggage holder in room, Pool had dirty stains on the liner, Pool staff personnel not welcoming or friendly. Understandable it's about safety when TRYING to enjoy the pool but she just took it way too far! I see why it's only a 3 star hotel. Im only giving it 1. My next trip to Northbattleford I will be staying at another facility. I don't recommend staying at this hotel and won't be recommending it to anyone in the near future.

The rooms are very outdated. The pool area is dinghy. The pool water was dirty. The front desk staff were aweful! And also their maintenance guy was rude. I would not recommend! The only positive was the housekeeping staff were sweet kind women!

Its always a great place to socialize and it has awesome food and great service both from the hotel and the lounge area! Keep up the good work!

Easy to access. Part of a group booking but unable to accommodate having our party on the same floor. Rooms have been updated with a newer television but need actual TLC. Our room alone had scribbling on the walls, broken window handle, broken bathtub plug, toilet was rocky, security door lock broken, bathroom fan broken. Didn't skimp on pillows, so that is nice. Pool was a big win with the kids.

Rooms are well kept for an older building. Waterside is fast and the restaurant is above average. I liked the fishtank in the centee of the dining room.

I recently stayed there last weekend and it was pretty good in my opinion the room was nice and clean and it was attached to the pool area. The staff were friendly. There was a smittys in the hotel and it was also good there. The pool area was fun and the slides were fun but they were pretty old and felt a little bit unstable however they were still really fun and fast. The way up to the slides on the other hand were pretty dirty. The pool itself was really good and the whirlpool was great. There also was a steam room that wasn’t very hot but not terrible. Overall it was a awesome place and I would stay there again.

The guy working night shift front desk isn’t polite, I asked him one question then he went off on me. The ladies on days were very polite thumbs up to them. Other then that my room was good and clean.

I stayed there back in sept and it was great! Room rates a little over priced! Pool area a little over dated! I tried emailing personally because mine and my kids bathing suits got bleached sooo bad from the chlorine! Way too much in the water! They are now wrecked and I have to buy new ones! Not impressed! Don’t really want to stay there again if I’m planning on using the water for the kids!
