Value Tire (Yorkton)

Called in the morning and had winter tires on by the same afternoon. No waiting too long just in and out, all my questions answered with no fuss.

EDIT IN RESPONSE TO VT REBUTTAL: July 15/22 Value Tire's response conveniently ignores the fact that their reported service quote was unnecessary because it had already been done my usual trusted mechanic, before going to Value Tire, hence the bad review. I caught the unnecessary work without allowing Value Tire to get away with it. Just further proof they don't read the reviews. Also, the price Value Tire quoted for the work that was already done by my mechanic before was 3 times what my mechanic had charged. Even if the work had been needed, a 3x markup is unethical. In short: they tell you you need work you don't need, hope you won't notice, and get cranky if your mechanic catches it.

Good tire selection and price. When installing tires though, they did try and push for a $1200 alignment that was not needed - barely a month after my mechanic did one for the full vehicle. (I obviously didn't go for it).

The tires I had on the car that I was replacing dated from before my alignment, so the tech probably looked at the wear pattern on the tire and used that for their basis. My mechanic's alignment was done with my ball joints in good shape. (An alignment is only needed when it is done with bad ball joints on the vehicle)

As I figured, lo and behold, my mechanic confirmed it wasn't needed.

EDIT IN RESPONSE TO VT'S REBUTTAL 6/20/22: Since you're "not sure", let me spell it out. There were no other repairs needed, but you tried to get them anyway. I caught you, as I'm mechanically inclined - but others may not, hence the review. The reason you received a two star review is that you tried to claim unnecessary repairs, which I caught and made sure you didn't do. This was also verified by my mechanic.

Friendly, quick, quality service. Helped me out when I was out of town and in a bind with a punctured tire on a late Saturday afternoon. Would recommend. A+

Long time acquaintance of store manager. Trust his advice and recommendations. Have bought multiple sets of tires over many years. Recently retired mechanic so would know if I'm being fed BS.

The receptionist was rude with no remorse, they dont take customers parts even I never opened the packages. I had to install the parts myself and still didnt get the wheel alignment I scheduled for. I travel 156km every day and have a family, this establishment is a farce.

Very good reasonable price on tires and got me in riteaway even with on farm calls I have never had them say maybe tomorrow they there same day the service is excellent

They said the bill would be around $250.told them not to work on it as I can get it fixed alot cheaper somewhere else. But they did it anyways.
What should I have done?
Should I have asked them to take back their rim and tyre?

I paid the full amount just because I didn't want to argue.

Biggest crook around tried to charge 365.00 to change 4 tires after quoting my wife 120.00 reason was the tires weren't bought from him he said

Extremely helpful when I’ve gone in for emergency repairs, etc. Fast, quality work. Definitely my go to place when I’m in town needing something done.
