Assistant Manager- Doug (Worst ever manager interaction and customer experience at supposedly best customer service store)

If there was an option of 0 or negative star, I would have chosen that.
This is my go to walmart, because this has most Indian stuff in my area. On July 11th, 2023 I went to this walmart twice. When I went in the morning they had misprinted tag on Google Buds Pro (it was supposed to be $259.99 but $2 was misprinted so only 59.99 was visible) this is a mistake from Walmart’s end because for a customer it just looked like 59.99 and I had my hopes up and planned to buy but late assistant manger (Doug) came and said that walmart doesn’t have this policy at all that if you find wrong tag you’ll get a compensation on the product. Said it was an honest mistake and can’t be compensated for that. For this time I agreed and went. Later at night when I came back to buy something else, I saw that not a complete tag was present under same product (Google Buds Pro) and it was priced at $65.98. I called the electronic associate to check and she said that not it’s $65.98 by looking at the tag and I planned to buy it again, but later when she took the product out (because all electronic products are in locker to which only electronic associate has the key to), she said that it’s 259.99. Twice in a day I found the same product wrongly marked. To this concern we again called Doug (assistant manager) and he refused to even listen to us. As soon as he came, both the electronic associate blamed us that somehow we changed the tag even though it was in a locker, said that put a complaint wherever I want and didn’t even listen our statement and walked away.

Walmart is supposed to be an example of good customer service, but with this experience I’ll give walmart’s example of bad customer service, bad management and unethical behaviour. They kind of blamed us for fraud buy mentioning that we had to do something with wrong tags rather than accepting their mistake.

If anyone from Walmart higher management is reading this, I want to escalate this issue.

This used to be our go-to Walmart but the management must have changed a LOT. Yesterday when we were there the store was incredibly dirty. There were gross rags left out to soak up who-knows-what on the floor (it was yellow and had chunks, I’m just saying). Nearly stepped in it because no signs were left out. Elderly and disabled people couldn’t get a scooter because non-disabled employees were using them to ride around the store. One obese girl was using it to stock shelves. She is not disabled. We had no choice but to use self-checkout because employees who were supposed to be at the tills were standing at the end of the aisles having a chat the entire time we were at the store (almost 2 hours). Between their laziness and the racist white customers yelling at them to “have their jihad meeting in their own time” (they had brown skin and were speaking another language) it was very stressful to try and make a purchase. Back of the store reeked of weed; source was a woman actively smoking. Shelves were disorganized and dirty. It was seriously worse than an episode of family guy. You don’t have to SMELL family guy. You’re not even saving money anymore, since their prices are higher than any other store in the region especially for groceries and staples. There are so many hard working people in St Catharines who are unable to find any kind of employment that the failure of management to remove these staff in a non-union environment offends me so much. What are these managers even doing?

Store wasn't crowded and surprisingly the arts and crafts, specifically paints, was decently stocked.

Truly a great store, BUUT!?

Replaces Zellers, K-Mart, Target, Rosbergs, Niagara Square Stores and so many others we really do miss. I suggest WALMART to keep us coming back, you need to better stock the shelves and pricing the merchandise. It's too much a guessing game. Sorry 4 covid, but we have all been at a stand still? KEEP US SHOPPING? !

Good Walmart. Nothing to complain about, except for lack of some stock on shelves. Don't get me wrong - there was plenty of items to buy, but specific items only had 1 on the shelf.

I just want to give a shout out to the woman who was working in the photo centre this afternoon. This was the fourth place we tried to get passport photos done for my 1 year old. The guy at the store right before we went to Walmart tried for a few minutes and then just gave up and told me, “it’s not gonna happen” because my son was crying/not looking at the camera.

The lady at Walmart got him a little bench to sit on and a toy. She was nice to him and got the shot on the first try.

Dirty washroom, ladies. Staff was not diligent in sanitizing self serve register areas. Found some great buys in children's clothing.

The Walmart Superstore is almost always a great choice. There has been less of a choice during the Covid epidemic, but that is to be understood.

I found the produce to be quite good!
Look out for specials and carts with "quick-reduced" vegetables/fruit for a fraction of the cost, stored for sale in bags for $1-$2. Most items were intact and not spoiled.

I buy Great Value Products! Very good quality! Actually, surprisingly good!

I do not go there, dirty washrooms, poor service can 't find sales associates when you need them, removing cash out registers and going computerized= loss of jobs. I don't care if I pay a little more. People there are principles involved. All Walmart wants are massive profits. There clothes are made in sweat shops in the poorest countries of the world. Walmart no thank you.

Not to bad of a Walmart. Most of the staff are nice but tgere is a few that have no idea where stuff is. Some employees I can't understand with their accent or lack of English skills. Ive also realized they take most of the sales off during baby bonus days.

Great deals. Only place that carries Just Egg and for a good price. Just wish they had their paper bunny bedding more regularly in stock especially since it's their own store brand.

For most things, Walmart is cheaper than many other places, or at least rather competitive!

Check sales for even better prices!

You're better off going to literally any other store. Twice we've had them take our money after CANCELLING the order. BOTH times we had to wait at LEAST a day to get our money back, 0 times we got our products. Every worker at this location is incompetent at best, and this store should be avoided at all costs.

Went about 630.was absolute dream.no line up. In and out got everything needed for pets. Scrubs for work. Even dinner. Will enjoy rest of evening cuz i got everything done i needed

Purchased a Shark vacuum it is broken and when I call Walmart no answer they love to take your money but almost or virtually impossible to get anyone to answer calls. Therefore I have to take a cab to their store and hope I get help!

Use to be a great store before they brought in the groceries. Now the groceries are ok but the rest of the store has shrunk like 50%. Every department is so much smaller it is a shame. Wal-Mart came to town and caused so many other businesses to close them they take away half of their selection. This city needs another department store!

Went to exchange a food processor which had stopped working. I had the proof of purchase which was past the exhange date, and proceeded to return it to the customer service centre. The associates working behind the counter who had just accepted a personel hygiene product back from the customer in front of me proceeded to tell me they could not exchange the product. I informed the asociate i just wanted a new unit and that i have exchanged products past their date witgout issue in the past as well as during covid. They told me they were unable to because of covid, despite the fact they had just accepted back used deoderant. Safe to say i will not he dealing with or purchasing anything from walmart again.

Please take the time to actually train your associates on the Scanning Code of Practice. Once again I took an item to customer service with picture proof that the price on the shelf was lower than the register. The first person I spoke with said I could have it at the lower price. When I explain that the lower price is less than $10, I should get it for free. He then called someone else over who took the item and went to where it was on shelf. When he came back, I was told that the price tag was for a different item. I once again showed him the description and even had him type in the sku number to prove I was right. He was willing to argue with me over a $7 item. Once I proved I was right, he just turned his back on me and the original guy, rang it through as no charge. This code of practice is to both protect buyers, as well as alerting retailers that a price on the shelf is labeled incorrectly.

Horrible experience, I went there to get my permanent residence photo and I previously asked if they take those kind of pictures and the woman say yes "all the time". The picture was super blurry and not focus at all and the woman that took it was very rude saying the system accepted so that means it is ok even tho she saw it was bad quality and I explained many times that the quality was bad it does not matter what the system says. She got angry and decided to take another picture but before she took it she told me GOOD LUCK FINDING ANOTHER PLACE THAT TAKES PHOTOS, What kind of customer service is that?

Well she took another picture and same thing blurry, not focus at all so I asked for my money back. Please do not go there for those kind of pictures, as I explained to the woman that took the picture and the customer service manager is something very important and why after a mistake she has to be rude? Common they should know how to take a damn picture and own the mistake, I spoke with a customer service manager he did not even apologize his excuse was he did not know anything about pictures and the system, Im sorry but you do not have to be an expert to know when a picture is clearly blurry.

This happened at the Walmart located at 420 Vansickle Rd, St Catharines.

Walmart is always good but I do have a concern about this location every time I go the customer service team offer me Walmart credit card which I’m not really interested in and when I tell them I’m not interested in that I don’t know how they change their attitude 180° the other thing is can you for god sake reduce the volume of the scan machine specially when I buy banana it said “weight your banana”. “remove your banana” I mean come on guys it’s not fun

The photo and electronic section is very under staffed. I watched an older gentleman run around like a chicken with it head cut off on December 2nd. He was dealing with pick ups, phones, a line of people wanting and looking for items. While doing this he was also trying to help with self photo finishing. I felt so sorry for his as on my way back there I witnessed multiple staff members standing around talking. He called for a manager twice looking for help that never showed up. This poor gentleman needs a raise. I know if I had to manage what he was dealing with i would have quit. I don't know his name but I wish to thank him for his great service. The management should be ashamed of themselves for putting him and the customers through this.

There is a guy name, Mike in wireless. He such a awesome guy full of information and ready to go above and beyond to help customers. He helped me for getting my discount done.

I have been shopping here for the past two years. Selection of food and products is pretty good.

My only issue is that some of the staff are a little rude or whenever they are trying to promote a credit card they don’t understand the concept of “no thank you, I am not interested”. Several times while paying for my groceries and such I have been asked about getting a credit card with them. Whenever I say not interested they just keep saying their script about how you will save money and such in hopes of you changing your mind about the card.
I don’t know why but this has always bothered me.
Anyways 4 stars because of that but 99% of the time it’s a good experience like shopping at any other grocery store.

I came here in January 2011 and sadly I couldn't find anyone dancing with a paddle board paddle.
This really annoyed me because I was dying to see how the local culture really supported such a way of life.
Ever since my camel was taken I have been ever so lonely and dying to clap my eyes upon a good old fashion bit of paddle board dancing with a paddle board paddle whilst said dancer wore unspecified branded cap
If this tradition could please be upheld and supported by Walmart st. Catherine's it would really float ones boat and be fitting to the atmosphere that one encounters when entering the lovely and by vivacious Walmart st. Catherines store
So if you guys could dance like maniac majiacs next time I come then one would be truly appreciative

You can get a variety of things for very reasonable prices. It has a large variety of clothes, food and more. Also the costumer service is very good.

Yet another disappoint from Wal-Mart as they try to shed old inventory from they're shuttered automotive department old tires from 2014 they still insist on environmental fees for something that should be in a dump anyway. Also no help from anyone with any knowledge as most of them knew nothing about tires and was hard enough just to find someone who spoke clear English.

I was there to use the photo printer it was incredibly easy i printed pictures from when I was rear ended. Now I'll be using Walmart picture printing more often

Excellent variety. COVID rules need to be adhered to by customers. It’s respect when you use a mask. If I can wear a mask it means I respect and care about you and you should also wear a mask to show respect and care to me and others. I hate wearing masks as it itches but at this time I still wear one and we all should when in a closed place whether we like it or not or stay at home. Staff is friendly and helpful.

Was at the store today, first seemed very crowded, but mostly concerned of the amount of people and families not wearing masks and even when approached a CSM they basically said, well.what can I do?
They even went over the speaker and announced that it was to be worn
How about a no shirt, shoe, pant and mask sign
