It's a pretty good place but someone needs to up date the house as it is not open to midnight

Had a gathering of a dozen+ and they were super accommodating.

Staff were attentive and we all had a blast. Great pricing to boot!

I've never seen such clean VLTs that weren't brand spankin new. Food is good could improve presentation a bit

Last call at 1130 on a Saturday and they close at midnight. Should mention that they haven't had karaoke since the lockdown and no pool table or any games of any kind (other than vlts).

The drinks are overpriced and the waitresses are lazy and unattractive.

Since this is at the very east end of the city, don't make the trek here because you'll regret it. Almost every other place is open later on 8th street and offer more than this dump does.

Stay away from this watering HOLE.

Enjoyed a wonderful tasting lunch there, nothing but friendly smiles and very realistic attributes from all. Loved it.

First of all the bartender Tim is amazing! Always extremely polite and friendly. Great little pub to grab some food and a beer. Special shout out to our awesome server Sunny! You rock girl! ‍

Visited here after a hard day of work. The bar tender and server where super friendly and helpful. I just want some beer and relax. Wonderful place to visit and sit at the bar. Tried the VLT for the first time and won $50 lol.

Probably my favourite place to eat on 8th street. Always good food and drinks here, as well as friendly staff. If you're looking for a pub to visit in the city, Whiskey Barrel is definitely a go to.

Food was great and service was fast. Servings were a good size for the price. Also, the staff was very polite and made sure everything was going great. I would definitely come back!

They're keeping the place nice and clean I feel safe eating here social distancing is done very well.

I was absolutely amazed on how good the food and service was! They have great covid-19 protocols. I had the Philly beef steak, it was so juicy and melted in my mouth. Our service was top notch! I can't wait to go again.

The poutine we got was great. The cooks were on point. It presented nicely and was flavorful. The service was prompt when we arrived but getting our bill took a long time despite telling the server we were in a hurry. Chatted with the bartender fill-in-hand, talked to another table bill-in-hand. She got the hint when we were tired of waiting and went to the bar to pay it ourselves.

The food was good not great the service was very poor the waitress could not seem to keep the orders straight all in all it was not a good experience

Great karaoke (some of it is bad but its karaoke). Service is great and the bartenders are on top of things!

I took my husband to Whiskey Jacks for lunch today. It was his first visit. The business is still under construction, but also still open for business. I ordered the Chicken Parm with mushroom sauce. The other order was the French Dip. On staff was one young woman who was doing her best to keep up with the bar, the tables, the VLTs, people paying bills, restocking the fridges and having to work around a cumbersome bar layout that did not allow her to make the shortest number of steps to accomplish her jobs. Even though there were approximately a dozen people or more there, this waitress kept her cool. She smiled and graciously asked us how the food was, how we were doing and generally being a real trooper. Now, I left very satisfied and literally smiling with how delicious the food was and the care of the service. We did have to ask for our bill and a container by going to the bar counter, but given that we only saw one server, this did not bother us a whole lot and the server apologized for not noticing as she was below the bar counter level restocking the fridges. The 4 star relates to the lack of help (a manager on staff should be out on the floor) for the server. It relates to the French Dip that was tasty, but was thin on beef. I personally was so happy with my chicken meal as it was the tastiest I had had in a long time in this town and given that it was served in this little neighbourhood bar was awesome. Great job to the chef/cook. The pasta was cooked well, the mushroom sauce tasted scratch made. The parmesan/breaded coating on the chicken breast tasted scratch made and appeared as such. The caesar salad side I had had small scratch made croutons and real bacon and I got a slice of lemon on top. Amazing. So, given the previous reviews I have seen, it is a mixed bag. I have never been disappointed with lunch in the few times that I have been in this bar and grill. So, give this place a shot and keep coming in while they make the changes that look very classy so far.
