Yip Hong's Dim Sum Restaurant (康乐园)

Gosh, I used to love this place. Tonight the soup was cool and bland, the buns were not steamed but microwaved, the dumplings were mushy and undercooked and the pork was so sweat it wasn’t good. Had to ask for a plate, napkins and service. Eating out is not cheap, so disappointing.

I've been supporting Yip Hong's ever since. But today was the worse day. I had a 30 min break so I call on ahead for dine in. The lady that I talked to on the phone said it'll be about 15 mins. I went there and waited then 20 mins after, they only just tell me my order was not placed. I missed my whole break. So unorganized.

I still love going here.

I and my partner came here for supper as we are staying at the nearby hotel (Townsuite Marriott Hotel). Their dimsum are really good.
It is quite a surprise to see a robot serving the food.

Based on our experience, their rice meals can be shared by two persons as it is a huge serving for us.

It's unfortunate, but their prices have gone up a bit too high. Dim sum for 3 of us was about $25 more than it was not long ago. The quality of the food is reasonable, but not quite as good as it used to be. We don't visit as much as we used to

Best dim sum in the city! It's hard to do dim sum properly during these COVID days but Yip Hong has figured it out and still delivers good quality food!

We ordered for the Second time through Skip the dishes. I specify and I paid additional for the extra chili oil but there was none delivered. It is raining and i don’t want to go there that is why I ordered Online. There was no chili oil delivered but Siomai. How can i satisfy my cravings hey? I phoned the Manager and the Manager said they are too busy and will just refund the money and i should go there to get my money.wth.like i am not feeling well to go outside and he asked me to get the. 75 cents refund due to missed out condiments. These people are just after the money and not customer service. Poor Management Skills + Delivery Service.

Every dish was tasty and made me do a happy dance in my chair! Ordering was easy, service efficient. Though you may pay more, the effort it takes to make each type of dim sum is why. And they do not skimp on ingredients/filling. We do not come often, but it’s a treat when we do.

Feels like I get 2 more pounds for this Food. Look at the oil. When I took a few bites of the Dry Fried Beef rice noodle, I felt sick to my stomach. The food was not fresh, looks like had been sitting for days. The chicken feet had a sour taste to it. This can only be a one-time patronage restaurant.
No service at all, was thinking of not tipping but ended up doing so, the waiter looked unhappy with the tip and gave me a grumpy face.
No Thank you, No Bye.

Food was pretty decent but didnt come with rice included which is what we were expecting so we were very disappointed when we got our order

Place was too busy to take an order for 22 people for Dim Sum, ignorant and short person told me to place order online. I guess they like losing a +350.00$ order to there competition. Geniuses.

Delicious dim sum and fast take out service! Though seemed pricey. We ordered food for two adults and one toddler and it came to over $100. We only had enough leftovers for a small snack.

Yip Hong's is the go-to Dim Sum restaurant in Saskatoon. One time I was on a food tour in Vancouver and we were taken to a big award winning dim sum place and my thoughts were "this is good but it's largely on the same level as Yip Hong's back home" Pretty much everything in the menu is great.

DO NOT TIP AT THE TILL. Sneaky owners take all the tip for themselves. None of the tip goes to their servers and staff. I've been directly giving my tip discreetly to the bus boy and waitresses or leaving on the table. I find it appalling the owners are stealing money from their workers.

This place is okay. Pricey for what you get and there isn't much competition in Saskatoon. Unfortunately, after switching owners from the location from 8th street years ago quality control has faltered.

The food taste great but cost way more to feed family. Just one order of beef short ribs, 7.50.with barely any food in it. Portions are not like they use to be. Glad I got 2 orders tho. Also got other stuff, and portions were all the same. In these small containers.

The food was amazing. Except for the fried squid dish (soggy and not crunchy enough), everything we ordered was absolutely amazing. Service was so so, hard to get the attention of service staff and had to ask multiple times to get anything even during non-busy times. The atmosphere is nice. However, sanitation needs improvement. The condiment bottles and service call buttons are sticky every visit, and the tables dont appear to be wiped down properly between customers. Will definitely go back for the food.

One of our plates was delivered to the wrong table, it was touched by that table and once the server noticed the error, she picked it up and attempted to give it to us.
To say the least, we got up and walked out.

We went for supper, for my sons' birthday. They have a roaming Robot who is being helpful by serving some (not all) of the food orders.
To order, U have to scan a QR Code from a little stand on your table. There are pictures to show what the food looks like. I guess its just a matter of getting use to this method of ordering.
Surprisingly this time, we did not order any dimsum. We had Pork BarBQ Fried Rice (very good!), Fried Squids (very tasty!), Fish Maw soup (very good!), Sweet & Sour Pork, Pork Chops, Dry Pork Ribs and House Tea. The tab was $107, excluding tip.
Just now I realized most of what we ordered were pork dishes - hahaha!
Nonetheless, the food was so good! We really enjoyed the visit!

Very good dim sum. I prefer the carts because then I often will try new things. Menu service is ok but we tend to order the same things every time.

My sister and I ate there twice in the last three weeks, first for lunch and then dinner this weekend. Our lunch had better service compared to the dinner but our dim sum dishes were luke-warm and some dishes were bland. I will give them the benefit of doubt and say it was likely because it was the lunch rush. During the dinner, the dim sum was much better quality! It came out hot and was well flavoured! We ordered the beef and onion hot pot as a take out dish to bring home for my dad and he said it lacked flavour and beef. Overall though, the dim sum dishes were 10x superior to anything I could have eaten in Regina though.

Very rude. Trying to call to place an order like I usually do and I was hung up on 3 times. And told to order online when I told her I always order this way as I have no credit card was hung up on again. This was the rudest lady I have ever talked too and won't be ordering again. Not everyone has a credit card and when calling to pay you for food which has never been a problem before is pretty disappointing. Maybe learn how to speak to your customers and not hang up on them trying to order your food because they don't have a credit card. People don't always carry cash either there should be debit option which I tried to tell her I have debit and still was hung up on. Being busy doesn't mean you can't write down an order when someone is trying to order your food and then hanging up on them. It has never been a problem before. And I tried ordering at 230 which is past lunch time so you for having to take 2 minutes to write something down is wrong. Hanging up on someone is not ok when they are paying you over 80 dollars for food. Lots of places are busy but being to busy to take a customers order I have never heard.

Yip Hong's Dimsum Restaurant is the Chinese eatery that tops my list. I savored the delectable deep-fried chicken alongside a delightful medley of mixed vegetables and tofu. Additionally, I indulged in a variety of delectable dim sum delicacies. I highly recommend giving it a try! It's consistently bustling with customers on weekends.

Robot server was hokey and very slow, had to be pushed to our table from another. Food was really good based on first visit. Looking forward to trying more, lots to choose from.

Great food quality with decent service. The atmosphere is pretty nice too (this place is huge!)

Easy to locate, very busy to the extent that our orders were mixed up. An okay experience overall.

Great food and service, very clean restaurant. We did dim sum from the menu on a weekday, relaxed atmosphere. Love the robot (and the people).
