I absolutely adore the YMCA, the workers at the front of the desk are really lovely and sweet, and so helpful! It’s a very small, friendly environment and It’s laid back, and often times not very busy compared to bigger organizations.
I go there for family swim, and my sister and I enjoy it. The life guards are always very friendly and will often great you <3
If you want a very quite and calm environment, this is the place for you!

YMCA in Saskatoon is a great place for exercise and relaxation. I particularly enjoy the dry and the steam saunas.

We had a terrible experience with YMCA.
We were enquiring about summer camp programs for our 6 year Autistic Kid. We asked if they provide one to one support or any extra support for our kid. They were like yes we do.

After we got convinced to send the kid for Super Summer Camp for a week.
On the joining day, within 2 hours they called us thrice & said we can't handle the kid and will return the amount.
Terrible that they can't handle kid for few hours too.

More than expected! Yes there is a gym with typical equipment, but they also have pool, steam, suanas, programs for adults and kids with most with no addition costs. To boot, before & afterscool programs, camps, child care centre along with various community programs.
A charitable organization that does it's best to meet community needs. Relying on the community to utilize the services, donations and grants. This organization does not get funding to operate and it reinvests funds back into operations, growth of programs and development of staff to further evolve with the community.

Not a gym. A wellness centre focusing on programs ranging from prenatal to 100+ years young.

The success of the YMCA is only because of the community.

I am proud to use the services and yes, to find my best employer in my 40 year career. Is any organization 100% perfect.no. What makes the YMCA my choice, is because they strive to focus on the real needs of the community based on values and how the community evolves.

Love it here. Love the community it serves. Love the staff I interact and grow with. Love the challenges. Love my personal growth.

This is a pretty good gym in the sense that it has every aspect of indoor Fitness that you could ask for. It has Squash Courts a full pool basketball courts lots of side rooms for exercise or yoga and two different full-on weight room Jim exercise areas. It's a little rundown in places and the crowd is a lot of old guys mainly but most of the people are extremely friendly and I've been to many gyms and I feel quite at home here

The YMCA is always a helpful and friendly place, where anyone can feel comfortable and have a sense of belonging. The fitness, aquatics and daycare programs are a just a few of the quality and fun experiences at the YMCA! #friendly and fun

There is so much more to the Saskatoon YMCA than meets the eye! There are programs available to ensure the whole family can be involved. From swimming lessons to yoga classes to Judo classes there is something for everyone. My kids participated in the Judo program and over the years were taught by former Olympians and a World Masters Champion – all volunteering at our local YMCA! And the Judo program is still going strong. I would encourage families to check out all that the Saskatoon YMCA has to offer. #YMCAJudo

Everything is good except the basketball court floor.some part the ball don't bounce, hoping they fix it

Clean and hygienic gym. Great place. Polite and helpful staff. Affordable but pricing is age based. Younger adults have cheaper rates as compared to older people. Has all facilities like a basketball court, swimming pool, a gym to workout your muscles and a cardio room.

The front desk is always so friendly and the whole place is very well kept. I send my daughter to the daycare, and I love how inclusive they are. I could leave an extensive review of how great they are (and maybe I'll update it another day to expand on this). Thank you for everything!

I was invited by a friend to play squash. When I arrived I was greeted by a friendly clerk. I told them that I'm meeting someone. Apparently she knew who my host was and that he was already changing. She asked me to fill out a form and to produce an ID. I told that I've misplaced my wallet recently but if it's alright I can show my health card. She and her colleague were adamant that I produce a picture ID or a picture of it. It so happens that I do have a picture in my phone along with hundreds of other pictures. As I'm scrolling through my pictures looking for it, the clerk tells me that picture ID is important because we have kids on the premise. I don't understand why she felt the need to tell me this. What is she insinuating? When my friend arrived at the front, she asked him if I was with him. When he confirmed that I'm his guest, the clerk tells me that I am good to go. I don't understand why the picture ID all of a sudden is not needed? Why did they felt the need to keep me there, when the form was fully filled? I was extremely embarrassed and wanted to show my ID to prove my existence. Once I showed her the ID, I asked her what is my year of birth. She didn't know. Then what purpose did this exercise serve besides embarassing and belittling me? Talking to several people I'm informed that this sort of thing is called racial profiling. I suppose my sort of people shouldn't go there.

But my favourite one…
karate Wado Kai
Best SENSEI ever! They are FANTASTIC with the kids. I love the way they teach all the kids.
Seriously, guys! I highly recommend you to put your kids (perhaps yourself) to their karate class!

Twenty five years since I step foot in the Building lots of changes made in the front but still the same services.

I can't say anything bad about YMCA. I tried out their weightlifting center. As a weightlifter I hated the gym. That's me. The pool and basketball court were cool options if I used them

They have upped their game. With all the COVID issues it’s very clean and friendly. Love the pool!

YMCA, denying Canadians their basic rights. No longer will we be attending any type of activities at a place like this. Absolutely absurd.

I'm really enjoying the yin yoga! The building itself has a nice atmosphere, and the instructor has such a calm and peaceful presence.
02 March 2021 21:48
Hearkens back to the olden days when the Y was the only game in town. It's like an interactive museum! A visit is a must for history buffs, the elderly, and any remaining Village People fans.

Awesome place super welcoming and super helpful workers anytime you need, and has absolutely everything you could ask for can’t complain at all.

I have been a faithful user of the 'Before and After school' program for 6 years. I have always had exceptional care for my 2 young children. This year, however, they have changed the structure of the program (re: COVID) and now I have to pay $5,000/year for casual care needs. Financially, this is not feasible and now I have no other options for child care pre/post school. For reference, I am a RN who works 12 hour shifts, with a spouse who works usual business hours. I am at a loss for the coming school year.like I needed more stress regarding back to school!
17 October 2020 2:35
Very affordable and good place to bring your kids when school's out. They have different kinds of activities for the kids to do. Only downside for us is that it's in downtown as it's too far from home or work.

We use childcare at the YMCA and have for years. The staff are amazing and our children have loved it. They have good resources, including education with the children's play and care. Highly recommend.

This place has really stepped up there game. A great place to get a workout in and had had some renovations so pretty nice except no parking unless you want to pay through sky high fees
11 November 2019 2:48
No contract memberships, a community-focused organization in the downtown area that supports low income families, a reasonable amount of equipment, and friendly staff and patrons.
12 October 2019 3:02
Cost effective but lil bit messy on database. They can not find your name. Activated cards but next time they said that our membership is not working. All understandable staff is is friendly and helpful.

I had abs once. It would be hard for any woman who was unfortunate enough to date me to believe, but yes, I too, like Zac Efron, had beautiful bulbous abs at a time. I did it with cardio and weight training at Y's gym. Yes there were lifeguards pressuring me, yes there were alphas grunting and howling for attention, yes I was young and surrounded by beautiful people - but I did not break. I got on the treadmill and sprinted until I gassed. I lifted until I broke. No distractions, no one else. Lord James Back In The Gym.

I go to the Y 4 or 5 times a week, and love that they have everything I need under one roof. I use their squat rack and power racks to lift three times a week, and the other days I'm in the pool or the squash courts.

I also find the steam room motivates me to get to the gym even on the days I really don't want to go.

Would really appreciate it if they added day passes for the plus memberships so my brother could join me in the steam room after our squash match.

Poorly equipped. No trial pass for non-locals, and they charge outrageous $15 for a day-pass while providing $4 value. Weight room crammed. Change room crowded.

Perfect place for your body and especially for your soul! Looks like I found new kind of “church“ for myself!
16 January 2019 17:42
I temporarily worked in Saskatoon for 6 months summer of 2014 and having had a ymca membership from another canadian city, this ymca let me use their facility. I loved this gym. The equipment is a mix of old and new but gets the job done. Staff was always friendly. Change rooms and showers were always well maintained. Was never overly busy. I really liked this gym.
16 December 2018 2:11
It's a great place for swimming lessons, fitness training and other kids activities. I recommend the whole family membership there. Kids will have specially more lessons and activities to do. Neat and clean, i specially like the swimming pool area and gym.
