It all depends on weather. End of September is when the first winter storm hits

A milestone, a must go photo op place for travellers going to Tuktoyaktuk. It is located about 30km north of Eagle Plains along the Dempster highway. By taking photos here you put a stamp on to your travel journal. Seems to me is is disturbing seeing some carved names to the pole, however I do like the idea putting stickers there. Fun, happy, let others appreciate; and reminded me the sign post forest in Watson Lake.

Must visit place if you have enough time for off road driving. Roads are pretty bad in rainy days. Have Safe drive and enjoy this place.

Not too many people will get to come as far north as this, so I was lucky to make it down the horrible Dempster Highway on the way to the Arctic Ocean, and stop at the Arctic Circle sign. When I got there, there was one other person resting probably also on the way down to the Arctic Ocean, which at this point I would say six or seven hours driving to the Arctic Ocean. It was very quiet with the occasional vehicle driving by but not too much traffic. It was a bit smoky because of the wildfires. I have heard from others that the Canadian Arctic Circle sign is better than the American one so I just went to the Canadian one. I didn’t want to waste time driving on the US side again.

The Dempster Highway is no joke. We lost a couple windows. Bring extra tires and prepare for a bumpy, rocky ride!
