The customer service was utterly underwhelming.a single employee (Mani) was working the counter.lack of training, rules and laws that left much to be desired. It took more than an hour to complete what should have been a simple, 10 minute process. When I finally reached the front, the vehicle I had reserved weeks in advance was not available. The explanation given was vague, alluding to 'system errors' without providing any further information or potential solutions. I was left with no choice but to accept an alternative car which was not only smaller but also lacked the spaciousness specifically requested for my trip.

I have rented from Alamo at the Edmonton International Airport twice now. Once in May 2022 and another in Sep 2022. Planning on it again in May 2023. Great service. No issues. Clean vehicle. No surprise charges. I did not get the extra packages like being able to return the gas tank at any level nor did I get the extra damages package. Everything was fine. Worth paying a little bit more for the sake of a peaceful experience versus the other companies at the airport that are cheaper but a nightmare experience. I booked through Costco Travel.

I have not rented but my mom and aunt have. Unfortunately my mom has forgotten her prescription glasses in the car. My mom and aunt have tried constantly for the past 3 weeks to get in contact with you guys and they have been constantly been hung up on or just taken in circles with no answers as to where her glasses are or even if the looked for the glasses… I my self tried to call them multiple times and I just get put on hold after about 3 min on hold it hangs up on me. I have emailed them, so please I am waiting on a reply to that. The rating would change once they get this resolved, because I know they haven’t had any problems with the car, but getting ahold oh you guys has been a nightmare. Please, please respond to us!

I have rented from this location three times in the past two years and have always found the staff and vehicles to be very good. This past visit in early February, I had booked an intermediate car with winter tires through the Alamo website. The “winter tires” was in the actual vehicle description, not an add on (that often says “when” available). I paid a bit extra for the assurance that I would have winter tires. When I arrived I was informed that there were no vehicles with winter tires but they did have vehicles with mud/snow tires. Since my plan was to go to Jasper National Park and I had experienced winter driving there previously, and a recent close call (also there but with mud/snow tires) I pressed the need for winter tires. To the staff’s credit, they were able to locate a vehicle that met my needs. As expected, driving in JNP without winter tires would have been foolhardy and many vehicles were in the ditch on the way there (between Edson and Hinton). I appreciated the piece of mind of having them and appreciated that the Alamo staff were able to meet my needs. The manager said that they didn’t get vehicles with winter tires very often. Given that the Edmonton area is often a frozen over river of roads in the winter I’m hoping that this becomes an easier request to fill in the future.

I have rented a Mazda CX-5 for 2 days at high mileages with chips on screen and scratches on Mirror, side door and bumper a month ago. I am glad I have took the pictures of these damages and they finally put them on the reports before I left. When I returned the car, their staff has checked the car out and printed me a bill for my rental. I thought it will be finalized but 2 weeks later, they charged my credit card an other $158.00. I have called them to find out what was this charge. They said it is a parking violation. I asked them to send me the ticket copy but they only provide me a list of phone numbers to call, most of them are US toll free numbers. I did call all numbers but no one can provide me the ticket copy and They ask me to call back to their CA ticket branch but no one answer in that number and I have left several messages. It has been 2 weeks, they still have not sent me the ticket copy. They seems to play with me to let me down from my claim. Never rent the car from this company although they look to have better deal but end up with much higher price than the other company. I am going to report this case to consumer council and Better Business Bureau and hope to let more people know about the treating of this company,

Arslan Malik and his colleague were fantastic. We flew in to Edmonton in September for a wedding. It was late in the evening, long lines, and they were super efficient and friendly. I was expecting a major headache and long waits, and within a few minutes I was out the door with a great car. Thank you again!

The front desk lady was very friendly. The gentleman (Curtis) who helped me with pick-up and drop-off was super helpful. It’s my first time renting a car from Alamo.
Curtis was very patient and showed me the drop-off location. When dropping off the car, he didn’t just grabbed the keys and left. Curtis collected my feedback from my car rental experience.
Their great customer service made my trip easier and smooth. I will recommend my friends use the Alamo car rental for their trips too.

Always have a good experience with Alamo. Ar I rented was brand new. Staff were fantastic from pick up to drop off. This was a rental from the Edmonton airport. Easy access from arrival and super simple to return. Everyone was so friendly and helpful. Well done!

Very friendly people. Courteous, professional, and speedy. Their prices are only a couple bucks more than their competition but you also get way nicer and better maintained vehicles.

We were given a high mileage Mazda CX-5 covered in scratches, rock chips and cracks in the windshield. They have you look over the vehicle with them in a very poorly lit underground garage prior to departure. The agent was in a hurry as he was the only one working and other customers were waiting. We asked about the damage we were seeing all over the SUV and he said "lots of gravel roads in Alberta, don't worry about it, just look for significant damage" We signed the document and he was gone in a flash helping other customers. The vehicle had a powerful odor of cigarette smoke and air freshener and was very dirty and sticky in the cup holders and dash. We never called to complain.

When we returned the vehicle four days later, two guys rushed over and started checking the vehicle like hawks. They continued to circle us as the kids exited and we grabbed our luggage. They checked everything and ultimately I signed for the bill and we walked away. Just before exiting the underground one of them screamed at me to come back. I returned and they pointed out a crack in a piece of plastic on the passenger side mirror. They asked me if I wanted to pay them on the spot with my credit card or go through my insurance. We were beside ourselves. I'm now receiving emails from their damage investigation unit. Now we are wondering if they charged prior renters for the rock chips, cracks etc.took the money and never made the repairs. Don't trust these people, shady operation, sub-par damaged vehicles. Do yourself a favor and stay away.

Made sure to organize a car for when we arrived, kiosk says open until midnight, had it arranged to pick up car at 1115pm. Got there and kiosk was closed, called the number and spoke to someone that said nothing he could do and wouldnt take a complaint. Stranded in edmonton airport now. Garbage company.

This place was horrible I was in tears by the time I left the car rental place not nice people working there I would never spend a dime of my money on this place NOT EVER going back there again I would rather walk in a snow storm for 5 hours then rent from this place.

Their customer support center is open limited hours compared to other rental companies. Makes it a pain if you need to reach them.

Aside from that they're alright.

From start to finish, this was excellence in customer service, great price, immaculate brand new Hyundai Santa Fe, and an easy quick and friendly return. The location just outside the terminal is convenient for both pickup and drop off. We'll definitely use Alamo on our next Edmonton visit!

Arrived at approximately 1245pm to pick up our Lincoln Escalade or Navigator. The female noted that our reservation was for 330pm. We booked via Flight Center and the reservation noted a 1230pm pick up. Oops! The employee than said that we cannot guarantee the particular vehicle requested. We were offered a compact BMW sedan. I went out to the lot to have a look at the car. Extremely small. We than discovered that this particular compact was already reserved an hour ago for someone else. We insisted on what we requested. The female said a wait of about an hour may result in a full size sedan. We were prepared to wait. In the mean time, I told my wife to call F. C and explain the silliness occuring. Suddenly a White GMC Yukon became available. Hmmm. Similar in like kind and quality with the exception of no extra toys and the leather interior. This should have been offered at the beginning. The excuse we received for a lack of fleet was CoVid and no one is renting cars at this particular major airport location. For our patience we got the satellite radio service for free. Five phone calls to four different staff resulted in the Sirius XM radio becoming activated. What an issue! Returning the vehicle was easier with the exception of me insisting a staff member did a walk around with me. We did not want to see some surprises on the credit card statement. Also note, Alamo does not wish to provide points to my wife's account as the booking was via Flight Center. Be very careful when dealing with the YEG location.

Rented a car for a week and it was very dirty when I picked it up! Customer service staff not exactly "Friendly" Felt like I was inconviencing them! They couldn't even take the time to point out my car when I got it! No excuse to give out dirty cars! Rent from Avis they care!

We rented over the weekend and were very happy with Alamo, started with a Jetta but it was too compact and they quickly accommodated with a ford edge. A very comfortable vehicle, thanks so much, made a painful week end more comfortable. Will definitely rent from them again.

Reserved a premium model a month before trip. Arrive at airport and they inform that they have none left and down-grade me to an economy car. Very disappointed.

He almost said that 3 times which was absolutely obnoxious to hear.

Alamo, Edmonton Airport - amazing staff! Always pleasant, friendly, and helpful. Check-in was a breeze. When I returned the vehicle the attendant fetched a cart and assisted me with getting the luggage out of the trunk. (No tip necessary - tho I tried!)

Well, I usually would write a positive review and this one still is (to a point).

I picked up the car late so didn't want to go back in when the fuel gauge was one bar under full. I have a casual attitude and just wanted to get to the hotel. The next morning the tire pressure showed low pressure. Nothing looked at amiss so I drove to my meeting. On the way back I checked the pressure (at my cost) and reinflated ALL the tires (all were 30-31 psi and the specs show 35-36 psi).

When I returned to check the car back in, the agent asked how everything was and I remarked about the fuel and the air pressure. I also said I didn't expect anything, just commenting as usually everything is AOK. He asked what I would like to compensate and, at first I resisted). I figured about $5 extra gas and $2 for the air but didn't really want anything. He pressed a bit so I said $5/$2.50 whatever. He said - would $10 make me happy?

I took him up on the offer and once again noted it wasn't necessary given the normally good experience at this location. Long story short, while Alamo could have done better with making sure the car was OK before it was sent out, the recovery by check-in staff more than made up for any inconvenience/cost. I am pleased with the actions and I will be back.

If they give you an option to go Hybrid, definitely take it! I got the Ford Fusion Hybrid for 5 days and only spent 13$ on gas (with at least 250km of driving.) I only rent cars from Alamo now since they've never given me trouble at any of their locations, including YEG.

Got the counter pick up counter @1000am, abruptly told I was too early to pick up my vehicle and was told only a pick up truck would be available to me, I could wait a " few hours" until a car was returned. Checked online on my alamo app and found a I could make a midsize car reservation for 1030am pick up. Went back up to the counter to show the agent my new reservation. Was told to take a seat, 10 minutes later I had a car. Car I received was dirty and had a indication that it was past due its routine maintenance.

Overall not the greatest experience. Long time Alamo customer, never had an issue like this before. Might think twice about using Alamo in Edmonton.

I have rented many cars from the Alamo Car Rental YEG. The staff has always been courteous, prompt and accommodating. The price of the rental is always competitive. In all very happy when I rent at Alamo.

Easy booking and our vehicle was ready for the time we booked our arrival! We were provided a vehicle upgrade. Although it was more roomy, and most likely more comfortable, it was a bit of a gas guzzler. Overall we had a good experience on pickup and drop off was a breeze!

Appreciate the service GP. Saturday we were notified that our second part of flight from Calgary to Edmonton would be delayed by an hour Saturday night so wouldn't get to Edmonton till just before 1 AM. I phoned Alamo and explained. GP said they close at 1AM. When we arrived there was only 1 car rental still open, GP waiting for us and provided a free upgrade to a 4WD due to the weather. Thank you!

I needed an AWD vehicle the same day because I was having vehicle issues and I called about 6 other car rental companies in the area and none of them could help me. I called Alamo at Edmonton International Airport and they were having issues with their system, but they told me to try and book online. I booked a pickup for same day pick up, and the vehicle was available as promised. I’m not sure what I would have done if they hadn’t come through for me.

This was our 2nd time renting from the Edmonton airport Alamo and both times we were treated very professionally and quickly both from behind the desk and in the garage. Both cars were clean and ready and also easy to drop off. My only wish was that the staff drove the car to you when you have mobility issues.
