Avis Car Rental

Not organized and didn't have vehicle I requested! They ended up giving me an upgrade for same price. Did get very nice vehicle but check in was not greatest and watch you pricing!

Awesome car rental service. Professional and friendly staff. Clean and well-maintained vehicles.

Rentals are right at the airport. Efficient staff to check in and out. I was given an upgraded vehicle without even asking and no further charge. Great service, great car (GMC Terrain).

They are great here but the rates at the airport are significantly higher than if you can take a cab or uber into town to get your rental

They will take your reservation even if they don’t have cars and put you on a waiting list
If you have anywhere to be go with another company absolutely terrible service

The electronics in the car were not working, and the car was making a noise it shdnt make. Gas gauge told us we had no gas when it was full, seatbelt alarms kept going off when we were driving and seatbelts were plugged in, and screen for the radio/phone either didn’t work or constantly flashed on and off. You need to get this car off the fleet and get it fixed.

I used Avis for business and leisure.
Staff are very efficient and friendly.
Knowledgeable and very accommodating. I am very satisfied with their service.

The staff misrepresented the fuel option and we felt lied to. At pickup, the receptionist represented this “fuel option” as if you opt in for this option, then we are going to put a $100 hold on your credit card. You can bring the car back with whatever fuel level and we’ll deduct however much gas we needed to fill it up to full and charge you from the $100 at $1.43 per litre.

It turns out to be completely false. At drop off, the staff apologized for the wrong information that the staff at pickup gave and refunded us. However, they charged us around $4/liter which ended up costing $42.86 for 10 litres of gas.

The good: car was in great shape.

Worst service! We were in Kelowna and our flight got canceled due to the wildfires, there was an evacuation so we had to rent a car and we are travelling with little children. We asked for a grace period to drop the vehicle off without being charged a full second day (45min max) we just got out of an emergency situation, and when I asked the representative they couldn’t do anything about it. I understand that there are rules in place but there should always be room for grace given the circumstances. I won’t ever rent from them again. It’s sad to see a company only care about profits and not their customers - there should always be a balance

From the time we picked up our car at the airport to when we dropped it off at the airport we were greeted by pleasant and helpful staff. I wouldn't definitely deal with Avis on our next trip. We had a Toyota Camray which travelled well and was great on gas.

Rented a car last minute and was very happy with it. The car was very clean and comfortable. The staff were helpful and polite. Drop off at the same location was easy and quick.

We have used Avis companies for the last few trips and have been consistently impressed with the quality of the cars and the service. I have not had a rental car company stand out to me in a long time, but Avis is on the right track!

BEWARE IF YOU'RE FROM BC OR ANYWHERE OTHER THAN ALBERTA! They refused to rent me the car that I had booked, I was still charged over $400, and I would have been left stranded in Edmonton after my flight if Enterprise hadn't had a car available for me! The woman at the counter claimed that an N license from BC is considered a learners license in Alberta, even though it is a valid drivers license in Canada, I had the N magnet with me, I'm over 25, and I have rented cars from other companies in AB & BC with no issues. Their website says they only require a license issued by a Canadian province, and I still haven't received a refund almost a month later!

Staff was very friendly and I got a car beyond my expectations. This is the second year I use Avis Edmonton and I will use them next year too.

NEVER book online! If you return a vehicle early they will charge you regardless & not issue a refund…. Absolute last time I’m booking with Avis.

My flight had arrived late so I was more than a few hours behind to pick up my rental. Not only was the staff extremely accommodating, the upgrade they gave was an added bonus to a really long travel day.

Becareful when leasing a car from Avis, our car was not checked and the coolant fluid level was lower than minimum causing the dashboard light to come on.we almost got stuck on a highway without cell reception.

Recently we rented a vehicle from Avis at the Edmonton airport. Pick up was smooth, so was the drop off at the Calgary airport. This is the first time I rented from Avis, it was a good car, we drove more than a thousand kilometres smoothly. Look forward to renting from Avis again.

Avis promised one thing at pickup but did not deliver at drop off.
I wanted the two cars we rented to be charged with one card. At pickup my son and I were forced to each provide a card. We were assured there would be no problem at drop off.
Surprise! Each card was charged.

After a long, emotional day of travel, the staff at the AVIS/Budget desk at the Edmonton Airport were friendly, helpful and compassionate. While the booking was not correct, they were quick to resolve the issue and get me on the road as quick as possible. Thanks to Dana Roberts and Amrit Singh!

Th wait time was longer than expected wait time, but the manager on duty on Jan 19th stepped in and made thing right. Because of what he did that same day I recommended his store to another family member who flew in from the states for the wedding also.
