Budget Car Rental

We were given a beautiful car and had no issues picking up the vehicle or driving it up to B. C. The return policy after our trip is where we had our issues. We were told we damaged the driver's side door, and we went back on Monday, labor day, to find the damage was extremely miniscule. Very disappointed with the service, this was my first time renting from Budget Car Rental, and will never return after this.

Worst customer service on the one person working the counter. I don’t recommend coming to this place.

WE GOT TRICKED.

Had a lot of frustrating experience the moment we booked at this location until we returned the car. We booked last minute due to emergency and it says that there are available cars for rent so we went ahead. On our way to pick up and 10 mins before the schedule, we got a call that they had no available car and that we can come back after 3 hours if we still need to rent. We went back and did get what we booked for and as a compensation for the inconvenience, we were told that gas was complimentary and that we can return the car with EMPTY GAS. We were happy with it. UNTIL we returned the car, this is where it got messy. We returned the unit on time without any problem and with gas tank still at more than half. We received the final billing WITH GAS CHARGE at over $100. The receptionist said that he cannot make any changes anymore. WE GOT TRICKED.

We still did another booking next day after this incident, and booked with corporate discount but under my spouse name as I cannot drive and he has insurance on his card. This is exactly the same way I did the last time which had no issue on the booking. But this time with the same receptionist, the booking under my hubby was not accepted and my card was not working at that time too. We went out of the location without the car we booked, late for work, and had to call to cancel it as he cannot cancel it on his end.

It was a nightmare. I will reconsider booking future rentals at this location.

They gave me a very unsafe car to drive. Car is pulling about 15 degrees to the left. Irresponsible and dangerous.

Poor customer service. Their online policies are not up to date or “valid”. Wasted an Uber ride to pick up my rental that was paid in full. The guy working wouldn’t even let me finish talking before saying “no” and did not offer any alternative solutions. 0/10 would recommend. Thankful for the Turo app which was able to accommodate myself immediately.

Wouldn't use this company if it was my only option in a secluded, snow storm in the arctic With nothing else in sight. Worst customer service and rules I've ever heard. Plan on moving with a truck go elsewhere, plan on a trip buy a car. It'll likely be cheaper.

BE VERY CAREFUL with Budget at the Edmonton Airport to Budget West End Edmonton. Were from Quebec, we rent a Jeep Cherokee, they didn't have it so we took a Sante Fe instead. The lady at the Edmonton Airport Budget rental says that there was damaged in the front and the windshield. And now they try to charge us for a scratch on the bumper that was already there! Another call later, they want to add the whole bumper $$$. My advice is always take photos before, the car was black and it's dark in the airport parking. Take the time. It ruined our vacations. Very bad service with Budget, tought it was a trustworthy company, but never again.

If you can I would suggest going to the Enterprise Rent-A-Car down the road from this place, at least they make the trip worth your time.

Booked a rental with these people and went there to pick up the car. So far so good you would say, the good things stopped there though and the experience was pretty much downhill from there. Brought an international drivers license with me, which caused some mental 404 solution not found error with the person *helping* me.

When it came to paying you get slapped with an unusually high reservation of $500. You have to agree with the deposit if you want the car, so begrudgingly I’m giving them my credit card. Only for the lady to have another mental 404 error and telling my credit card is apparently not a credit card?

Either the people here are insanely competent financial masterminds, or they cannot for the life of them tell a credit card and debit card apart from each other. As the saying goes: ‘’If it looks like a duck, swims like a duck, and quacks like a duck, then it probably is a duck. ’’ ‘’If it looks like a credit card, acts like a credit card, and is regulated like a credit card, then it's probably a credit card to everyone but these people. ’’

In short: 1/10 the only good point is that they are close to a way better Enterprise Rent-A-Car.

Horrible customer service here. I initially called in because Enterprise did not have the car I needed at the time. My car got into accident so I went to this place last minute. I called ahead of time and went to pick up the car. After driving with an Uber I was told I could not get the car because I forgot my credit card. I gave him the details to my insurance company and what auto body my car was. I was stranded with no place to go. Stressful experience rude and unreasonable person. I ended up going back to Enterpise and received a rental the same day without the hassle of credit card. All they needed was deposit and address of the auto-body. I even got a ride back to the auto-body once my car was fixed. My insurance initially suggested I go to Enterprise so I should have not went to this low budget rental place. Enterprise Rental is amazing they really eased and try there best to make my experience good. I will be going there for future. This place is low budget just like the name. Save yourself the hassle and time wasted and rent from Enterprise Rental much more professional and understanding staff.
